"Hmmm…"

KNOCK… KNOCK… KNOCK

The continuous knock on the door wakes me up, I am momentarily disoriented as I look around and then last night's memories flash, I touch my cold and pale face and groan unhappily.

What the hell just happened to me last night?

"Tessa… Dear open the door… Tess…" I hear my mother's plea and immediately open the door for her. "Mom," I exclaim as mom hugs me out of the blue and starts crying.

"Mom… what's wrong?" I ask as I struggle in her arms to breathe, her hold is fantastically tight.

"Tess, what Andrew did to you yesterday, tell me everything. I will cancel this marriage right now. They can't force you like this." My mother looks angry and I frown badly, what the hell is going on?

"Mom…" I open my mouth and my mother's violent shake makes me dizzy as I shut my mouth immediately.

"Tell me, Tess. Tell me…" She urges and I frown, oh God why my mother is overbearing sometimes. I walk weakly to my bed and then sit on it, "Mom," I pat the space beside me and my mom comes over to sit with an anxious look.

"Today is my wedding day, mom and I am very happy. Please, don't do anything stupid. No matter what happens today, you won't argue with Dad and neither say anything about canceling the marriage." I lay in my mother's lap and say calmly.

My mother looks down at me with surprise in her eyes, "Yesterday…" She begins and I immediately cut her off, "It was nothing, Mom. I just got emotional." I tell her and then stay in her lap for a while as she caresses my hair.

"Mom, Will you miss me?" I ask after a while, "Yes, my dear. After all you are my firstborn." my mother's reply warms my heart.

"Mom, I am also going to miss you," I tell her and then apologize to her in a choked voice, I don't know why I am getting so emotional, this is supposed to be the happiest morning of my life but no it begins with the sadness.

"I am sorry, mom if I ever let you down."

"Oh Tess, my child, you have always been a good obedient child. This is your wedding day, so no more tears. Come, you need to meet Cyril also before the car comes to pick you up." My mother reminds me as she wipes my tears and then kisses my forehead lovingly.

My mother brings my breakfast into Cyril's room we both eat together, I have no appetite but still, I take a few bites. I, as expected cry again when I hug Cyril, I know I would be coming back to my home frequently but I just don't know why I am getting so sad.

Maybe, all the brides feel a pang of sadness before their marriage like this. Maybe it's a normal thing.

I get ready quickly and as I am drying my hair, the sound of honking comes from the outside.

I quickly put down the hairdryer, pick up my phone and then rush out, I kiss Cyril and mom before leaving. Unfortunately, Dad isn't home today, he is busy with Miss Swan in the wedding preparation.

I walk out of my house with a heavy heart and then turn around to look at it for a long time until Ron's voice brings me back, "Miss, we are getting late."

I nod my head and then sit inside the car. I sigh feeling sad and suddenly my eyes welled up with tears, I am going to miss my home very much and my mother's cooking especially.

I sniff trying to hold my emotions, and Ron notices it. "Everything is going to be fine, Miss. Don't worry." He gives me a warm smile and I return his smile. "Thank you, Ron. You are a very good man."

He blush at my compliment and I couldn't help but giggle as I look at his shyness that is why he is still single.

"You look beautiful when you laugh like this." He compliments me and I thank him politely, now my mood is getting better as I am with Ron. He is trying his best to distract my mind from getting sad.

We reach the salon and I ask, frowning. "What about the dress?"

"Well, it will take an hour, Miss. Don't worry I will bring it on time." He assures and I am relieved. I trust Ron, he will definitely bring my dress on time. "If my husband complains then it will be on you." I joke as I walk inside with a light heart.

Finally, I am feeling better thanks to Ron's company.

The women in the salon know me well as they immediately pull me and start doing their magic on me. Yeah, it looks like that, they are all over me, some painting my toes, some working on my hair. And a few on my face starting with a quick skin mask on me.

After a long time, finally, I am done with my makeup, I am wearing a slip at the moment waiting for my dress, Ron isn't here and it's more than an hour, now I am starting to get nervous. The hairstylist needs my dress to start with my hairstyle and we all have no choice but to wait patiently.

Thankfully, after waiting for a while, Ron finally shows up and hands the dress to one of the women that are helping me in getting ready. I take off the slip and the women around me start helping me to put on my dress.

The sleeves are very delicate as it needs good care when wearing. Finally, I get fit into it and the woman around me looks at me in astonishment.

Yeah, I know this dress is gorgeous.

The hairstylist finally starts doing my hair, she keeps my bangs loose in the front and makes a low twisted bun on which she puts a delicate diamond headpiece that shines brightly.

She then sets my veil, I look at myself in the mirror and my breath hitches, God, I never knew I could look this much beautiful, a woman enters with a box as she smiles politely at me. "Miss Swan wants you to wear this."

She opens the box and the shine from the inside hurts my eyes, It's a beautiful diamond set, she puts the necklace around my neck and then puts on the earrings. It looks spectacular. I look at myself in a daze, I am shining brightly, a white dress, and the sparkling diamonds are making me like a princess of some kingdom.

Now, I just need my prince who would ride on a horse and comes to get me. I smile stupidly thinking of Andrew and a cough then startles me, I look down a woman is bending down with my shining heels, I lift my foot and she put it on.

I thank her politely. All women praised my beauty and I thank them all happily, I just hope Andrew likes me actually I should not hope, he will like me. I turn to see my back, it is covered with my veil at the moment but maybe after the vows, I can take it off for the reception dinner.

I think and just then a woman informs me about Ron, he is outside waiting for me. I look at the watch it's past 2, the wedding will be at 4 hopefully.

With the help of a few women I walk out, Seeing me coming, Ron immediately opens the door wide for me, a smile on his face telling me that I am looking good. "I know," I say overconfidently before he would compliment me and he chuckle knowingly.

We drive in silence, Ron looks a little tense maybe he is also stressed from the wedding's preparation.

We reach Church and Ron parks the car at the back door. I frown as I look outside, "There is still some time for the wedding." Ron tells me the reason and I nod my head.

He opens the door, and the problem is that I cannot come out on my own. I need help, the dress is heavy and sticks to my body, I really can't bend my own and get off the car normally as I would always do.

I look at Ron and he seems to understand my difficulty, he offers me his hand I take it, smiling at him thankfully, He even picks up my dress so that I won't fall. He is such a good and caring person.

He close the door of the car but didn't let go of my hand in concern and soon my mother comes over to me from the back door. She stops in her track when she sees me as a bride, I grin and she looks super emotional as she sniffs, "Oh Darling… You look so beautiful." She kisses my head and then looks carefully if she hasn't spoiled my makeup.

"Mom, I need help," I tell my mom as I look down at the hand that Ron is holding at the moment. "Oh, yes dear, come. I'll take you in, don't worry." My mother takes my hand from Ron as she helps me to go inside.

I get a huge surprise seeing Cyril in the room wearing a suit with a bow, waiting for me. He looks dashing. "Cyril…" I exclaim with joy and he looks at me with twinkling eyes, "Sis… Oh my God… Is it really you?" He looks shocked and then his smile widens, "Sis, you look like a princess in this dress." He tells me and I couldn't help but smile happily.

My mother leaves us both alone to look for our father.

"Cyril, I am a little nervous," I tell Cyril, a little scared.

"Don't worry sis, Today nothing is going to get wrong. Just stay happy and keep smiling." He pulls my cheek and we laugh together.

My father enters after some time behind my mom, "Look Dylan, our Tessa has so grown up." My mother says emotionally while wiping her tears from a small tissue, she looks beautiful in that yellow dress I had selected for her and my father too looks handsome in his suit.

The tailor has done an awesome job, I look at my dad nervously, what happened yesterday was still afresh in my mind, "Dad, I am…" I wanted to apologize to him but dad didn't let me finish.

"No need to say anything, dear. I knew I had rushed in making this decision but… I was left with no choice Tess. I love you more than anything in this world, I just hope you will try to make this marriage work and never disappoint us, or let us down."

"I won't let you down, Dad. Don't worry." I tell him, determine and then we did a group hug. I want to keep this moment safe in my heart forever, the last moments of me as Tessa Will.
