"Today is the happiest day of my life," Lyra whispered, leaning against Rayne's shoulder.
Rayne kissed the top of her head: "This is just the beginning. We have a lifetime to create more happy memories together."
Suddenly, a strange wind swept through the garden, causing the Silver Fern leaves to sway unnaturally. Lyra raised her head alertly, sensing an energy both foreign yet familiar approaching.
"Someone is coming," she said softly.
Rayne nodded, having already sensed the same anomaly: "Not an enemy, but not an ordinary visitor either."
From the shadows of trees at the end of the garden, a figure slowly emerged. It was an elderly man with silver hair, dressed in an ancient silver robe, holding a wooden staff carved with runes. Most striking were his eyes—silver like Aldrich's, but deeper, as if they could see through the river of time.
"An emissary of the Laurel," Rayne said in surprise, immediately bowing to the old man.
The old man nodded slightly: "Rayne Grayson, Lyra Sterling, or perhaps I should address you as the chosen ones of the Laurel."
Lyra felt a wave of unease: "You've come to..."
"Bring a warning," the old man said directly. "Rebirth has altered the trajectory of fate. Although the Laurel has accepted this change, the balance of the universe must still be maintained."
Rayne gripped Lyra's hand tightly: "What does that mean?"
The old man's gaze deepened: "It means a price must be paid. Not now, but it will come eventually."
Lyra felt her heart racing: "What kind of price?"
"That depends on your own choices," the old man said mysteriously. "Fate has given you a second chance, but has also set new trials. When the time comes, you must once again face life-and-death decisions."
Rayne's expression became determined: "Whatever the trial, we will face it together."
The old man nodded, seeming satisfied with this answer: "Remember, true power comes from love, not hate; from creation, not destruction. When the trial comes, remember this."
He raised his wooden staff and gently tapped the ground. A circle of silver ripples spread from the tip of the staff, enveloping the entire garden. Lyra felt a warm energy flowing throughout her body, something awakening within her.
"I have activated the dormant laurel power within you both," the old man said. "You will need it."
After speaking, his figure began to turn transparent, as if merging with the moonlight.
"Wait!" Lyra asked urgently, "When will the test come? How should we prepare?"
The old man's voice had already become ethereal: "When the silver moon is full again, when new life arrives, the wheel of fate will turn once more..."
His figure completely disappeared, leaving only this vague prophecy. Lyra and Rayne looked at each other in bewilderment, uncertain what this meant.
"Silver moon full again...new life arrives..." Lyra murmured, suddenly, her hand unconsciously moved to her abdomen, a bold conjecture forming in her mind.
Rayne noticed her movement, a flash of shock and joy passing through his eyes: "Lyra, are you saying..."
Lyra looked up at him, with both happiness and concern in her eyes: "I think...we might be becoming parents."
