Chapter 15: Night Training

469words
The training ground was deserted at midnight, with only moonlight streaming through the high windows, coating the area with a layer of silver radiance. Lyra, dressed in light training clothes and holding a silver dagger, moved through the space like a phantom.

"Your speed has improved," Rayne's voice came from the shadows, "but it's still not fast enough."

Lyra stopped her movements, breathing slightly heavily: "In my previous life, I never had the chance to complete my training."

Rayne walked to her side, gently adjusting her posture: "The trial of Moon Shadow Valley tests not only strength, but also the harmony of the soul. We must act as one."

He stood behind Lyra, his hands covering hers on the blade, guiding her through a series of fluid movements. Lyra felt his warmth and strength, her heartbeat involuntarily quickening.

"Feel my rhythm," Rayne whispered in her ear, "During the trial, our heartbeats must synchronize, our thoughts must connect."

Lyra closed her eyes, immersing herself completely in this wonderful connection. Gradually, she felt an unprecedented rapport, as if she could anticipate Rayne's every move.

"That's it," Rayne nodded with satisfaction, "You were born to be a Luna."

Lyra opened her eyes: "Erin said the position of Luna should have been hers."

Rayne shook his head: "Luna is not determined by birth order, but by Silver Fern affinity and soul compatibility. Your Silver Fern affinity is the strongest in generations, and..."

He paused, a hint of tenderness flashing in his eyes: "From the first time I saw you, I felt a resonance deep in my soul. That kind of feeling cannot be faked."

Lyra asked curiously: "You never considered Erin?"

"The council suggested it." Rayne admitted, "But after I met you, everything was already decided."

Lyra felt a wave of warmth, but then remembered something: "Karen knows we're preparing. We need a plan he won't expect."

Rayne nodded: "Moon Shadow Valley has a secret. Legend has it that deep in the valley, there's a hidden passage that only true soul mates can find. If we can find it before the trial..."

"We'll gain the upper hand." Lyra finished his sentence, excitement gleaming in her eyes.

Rayne smiled: "Tomorrow, I'll take you to meet someone. He knows all the secrets about Moon Shadow Valley."

After the training ended, Lyra stood by the window, gazing at the distant moon. In one month, the same moon would illuminate the trials in Moon Shadow Valley. That would be the moment that determines fate.

She didn't notice that in the tree shadows outside the window, a pair of eyes was coldly watching her. Karen whispered to the person beside her: "What are they preparing for?"

"No matter what they're preparing, it won't change the outcome." Erin's voice was full of malice, "This time, they will certainly die."
