Chapter 9

When Sean called, I just got off James' legs, and my cheeks flushed slightly.
James leaned against the bed, grinning slightly as he looked at my swollen lips.
My ears burned as I went to the window to answer the call.

I was panting as I said, "Mr. Lowe, what can I do for you?"
Sean sounded anxious. "Ms. Young, Mr. Coleman wants you to get to the usual place in 30 minutes. Otherwise, he's really going to get engaged to Ms. Spencer."
I could not help but sneer when I heard that.
The night was too quiet, so James probably heard it too. He put his cup down on the nightstand, and it clunked loudly.
Sean heard the sound over the phone and asked, "Is there someone else with you at this time of the night?"
In the past, I had always catered to Brad's every whim. It was normal for me to appear as soon as he called. I had always been polite to Sean and had never taken him lightly.

However, I would never do that anymore.
"Mr. Lowe, that's my business. It has nothing to do with you." I paused before I continued, "Also, Brad and I are no longer engaged. We have nothing to do with each other anymore. It's none of my business with whom he wants to be engaged."
Sean seemed like he was anxious.
"Don't act rashly just because you're angry, Ms. Young. You will regret this later. Mr. Cole and Ms. Spencer will hold their engagement party tomorrow. This is your last chance to get him back."

"I don't need this chance," I said calmly and indifferently. "Also, have you handed Brad the things I passed you?"
Sean fell silent.
Zoe had taken the box two days ago. He did not stop her because she was Brad's fiancée-to-be.
"Mr. Lowe, I'm only going to say this once. Please hand the things to Brad personally," I reminded him again.
Sean was incredibly polite as he replied, "Ms. Young, I think you should hand the things to Mr. Coleman yourself."
"I told you, Mr. Lowe. We're broken up. I won't meet him again." I paused and let out a deep sigh before continuing, "After you hand the things to him, I'll delete your number. Please don't contact me again."
