Chapter 6

“I really need money right now. Without a million dollars, I can’t leave with you.”
“A million dollars?”
Stanley paused, deep in thought, and let go of me.

As he pulled his fingers away, there was a soft popping sound.
He’s just a mechanic—where would he get a million dollars? I said this hoping he would back off and avoid getting caught up in my messy situation.
---
I was planning to divorce Jeffery, make him leave with nothing, and reclaim the house and car my parents had given me.
But before I could even bring up the divorce, he beat me to it and had his lawyer send me a divorce agreement. The terms stated that our assets would be split evenly and that he’d keep the car.
I couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief. The house he was living in and the car he was driving were gifts from my parents before we got married. Now that we’re getting divorced, why should he get a share of my property?

When I didn’t sign the agreement right away, he turned around and sued me, claiming our marriage was broken beyond repair and that I was unable to fulfill my duties as a wife because I couldn’t have children. He conveniently left out the part about his affair.
Fortunately, I was prepared for this.
In court, I presented the photos and videos I had taken through the window that day, showing him and Dona together.
“Your Honor, I have evidence of Jeffery’s infidelity. If this is proven true, wouldn’t he be at fault for the divorce? Am I not entitled to ask for everything?”

To my surprise, Jeffery didn’t look the least bit worried. Instead, he smirked and asked me, “Adria, how can you prove the person in those photos and videos is me?”
“Are you basing this on a pair of SpongeBob boxers?”
There was a burst of laughter from Jeffery’s family in the courtroom.
“Your accusations are baseless. If you can prove it’s me, I’ll leave with nothing and even pay you compensation.”
“But if you can’t, I’ll sue you for defamation, and you won’t get away with it.”
I hadn’t expected Jeffery to use this tactic.
I realized I didn’t have any other proof besides those photos and videos to confirm it was really him cheating.
The situation was at a stalemate.
Just as the judge was about to announce the verdict, Stanley walked in.
“What if someone else can prove you were cheating?”
Stanley handed a USB drive to the court staff.
The video was a full ten minutes long.
In the footage, Jeffery was driving the BMW my parents had given me as a wedding gift. The one sitting in the passenger seat wasn’t me, but Dona.
They parked the car in a secluded area in the woods, and as soon as they stopped, Jeffery reclined the seat and hurriedly pushed Dona down beneath him.
The spacious interior of the BMW, with the seats fully reclined, was just big enough to fit two people comfortably. Little did I know it would be the perfect setting for this sordid affair.
“Jeffery, isn’t this... a bit too much? This is your wife’s car, after all…” Dona teased, wriggling her hips provocatively on Jeffery’s lap, her pregnant belly making the scene even more obscene.
“What’s there to be afraid of? Whatever belongs to Adria will be mine soon enough.”
With that, Jeffery tore open Dona’s maternity dress, sucking on her breasts and jokingly saying, “Dona, you’re such a slut. You haven’t even given birth yet, and you’re already producing milk.”
“Pregnant women are something else. You’re even tighter down there than before...”
“You’re so naughty…”
Dona blushed, shamelessly indulging in their twisted pleasure in the car that was part of my dowry.
When the video ended, Jeffery’s face turned ashen.
---
This video was perfect. It not only clearly exposed everyone’s identities but also highlighted the fact that they were using my car.
I couldn’t help but give Stanley a discreet thumbs up.
The content was so explicit that even Jeffery seemed unable to watch any longer.
