Chapter 10

A sudden realization struck me, and I turned to Alfie and Demi. "Which floor do you live on?"
The couple immediately looked at each other with dawning recognition.
"We live on the second floor, and our windows are old-fashioned. With enough force, they can be opened from the outside. Are you saying Madison actually used that demon to steal our bank card?"

I nodded, quickly walking over to help them hold the mop handle in place as I continued, "If I'm right, your bank card PIN is your daughter's birthday, isn't it?"
They nodded eagerly, and my suspicions were beginning to align.
I then turned to the colleague who had identified the Flying Head Demon. "Is it possible for this creature to transform into someone familiar?"
The colleague shook his head. "I'm not sure, but this dark magic is incredibly sinister. I think your guess is probably correct."
I nodded and borrowed a lighter from a colleague who usually smoked. I ripped the charm bracelet off Madison's wrist and set it on fire.
The moment the flames ignited, the Flying Head Demon emitted a piercing scream that almost shattered our eardrums.

But soon, the bracelet turned to ashes in the flames. The Flying Head Demon seemed to lose its power, shrinking into a lump.
I had intended to destroy the creature so Madison could return to normal.
But even when the police entered the bank, the mass of flesh on the ground remained motionless.
We were all taken to the station.

After an investigation, it turned out that Madison had indeed encountered this dark magic while traveling.
To sustain the Flying Head Demon, she had been buying numerous animals to feed its bloodlust.
As time passed, she became more and more in sync with the demon. Eventually, she decided to use it to steal money.
As a bank employee, Madison had secretly installed hidden cameras in various places within the bank to monitor clients' card PINs.
After all that, she targeted Alfie and Demi, who were desperately trying to make a deposit to save their daughter. They became her first victims.
The police quickly found wigs and shoes identical to mine at Madison's home. It was clear that on that fateful day, she had disguised herself as me to steal the couple's money.
She probably tried to frame me out of fear that the truth would come to light. She wanted to find a scapegoat before the case was exposed.
After all, if I were dead, the case would be closed with no further investigation.
After hearing all of this, I let out a long sigh.
As we left the police station, we ran into Evan being escorted to a police car.
Willow immediately went over to inquire and returned shortly with a grin. "Guess what happened to your ex."
I shrugged nonchalantly. "I don't know. But he helped Madison, so he won't get away unscathed."
Willow burst out laughing. "He was scared out of his mind! We all witnessed that scene, so why is it only Evan who went crazy?"
I couldn't help but smile along with Willow. "Those who do evil will meet their downfall."
Even if Evan managed to escape legal consequences, he still paid the price he deserved.
