True to her word, Ivy came to greet me every day, served tea, and — under Wilson and Warren's guidance — occasionally brought me poisoned pastries.
But with Yvonne's help, I switched the food secretly and watched them suffer the consequences.
At dinner, I feigned concern. "Warren, you and your father have been having nosebleeds lately. Have you… eaten something you shouldn't?"

Since Ivy was the one handling the food, both men glared at her.
"It's not me!"
Ivy knelt, crying before she even spoke.
"I know I'm not your favorite, Madame, but I'd never harm anyone! Please believe me!"
Ivy was Wilson's favorite mistress. Seeing her cry, he softened.
"Ivy, you're pregnant. You shouldn't kneel. It's just the dry weather — it's not your fault."

I'd only heard Wilson use that tender tone with me during our newlywed days.
After that, he was only distant and polite — yet I still showered him with affection.
For twenty years.
The thought made me hate my past self even more. I said lightly,

"You're right, dear husband… Since Ivy is pregnant, she should rest and not worry about making food anymore."
Since I'd supposedly eaten Ivy's poisoned pastries for weeks, the three of them didn't object, thinking I would collapse soon.
But before I showed any signs of poisoning, Warren noticed he actually felt better than before.
Under my guidance, Yvonne said, "Since we stopped eating Ivy's food, you and Madame both look much better."
I nodded.
"Those pastries must have had too much heat-inducing ingredients. Look, Warren hasn't had a nosebleed since."
Warren's face changed. He stood up abruptly.
"Madame, I just remembered some official business. I must take my leave!"
After Warren left, Yvonne was excited. "You're brilliant, Madame! Letting them suspect each other is perfect!"
"That's what they get for underestimating women!" I smiled.
Warren was more ruthless than Wilson.
Once he suspected Ivy was trying to harm him, he wouldn't hesitate to strike back.
Besides, Ivy's unborn child would become an obstacle to his inheritance.
So I knew Warren would try to eliminate the child.
Just as I expected, a few days later, Wilson stormed into my room.
