Epilogue: Evelyn
I have always been the privileged heiress, the successor to the Sterling Global Group.
All sorts of suitors surrounded me.

I never expected Liam, the top student, to have a crush on me too.
Even though he was poor, it made me inexplicably happy.
A genius! None of those partying trust-fund kids could compare.
But he was too honest, too reserved—I always felt he lacked a certain excitement.
Later, I accepted the confession of the heartthrob from our department, and for a time, we were the campus golden couple.
Liam didn't react. He kept dutifully doing my homework and editing my videos.

In my heart, I thought Liam was a pushover, probably not going anywhere, but I was used to having him around—like family.
Then, that heartthrob took my financial support and ran off overseas with his so-called true love.
That day, I drank two bottles of liquor. It was Liam who carried me home and took care of me all night.
I was filled with bitterness and just drowned myself in alcohol day after day.

Then one day, Liam carried me home again, and it suddenly hit me—only Liam truly loved me.
After we married, Liam kept his promises, always putting me first.
But deep down, I was never satisfied.
I loved watching Heartthrob #1, #2... kneel and scrape for me, loved seeing them flatter and fawn over me.
Only that could balance the scales in my heart.
Liam got angry. But I never expected him to throw the wedding ring I bought right back at me and walk away so decisively.
I called and texted him—how dare he ignore me?
After three years, he'd finally learned some tricks.
Six years of history, and his love for me—I refused to believe he could just let it go.
He was just throwing a tantrum.
Fine. Let him go out there and get knocked around. Then he'd realize how much he needed me.
But when I saw him again, he was so confident and radiant.
And he was involved with Chloe Lynch, the daughter of financial magnate James Lynch.
That girl seemed head over heels for him.
In that moment, I have to admit, I panicked. So I went to his office.
I wanted to use our past to win him back, but it seemed his mind was made up.
I yelled at him for breaking his promises, but faced with each accusation he threw back at me, I had no defense.
Without even realizing it, I had buried his talent and humiliated his character. My carelessness had hurt him so deeply.
When that girl announced they were taking wedding photos, I was truly terrified.
It made me remember—when Liam and I married, our wedding photos were just cheap composites.
He handled everything. I just showed up briefly on the day.
He must have been completely disillusioned with me.
All these years, I had taken Liam for granted. I always thought he would love me forever, indulge me, never leave me.
But seeing the resolve in his eyes, I suddenly felt it—he really was done with me.
I had lost the person who loved me most, forever.
