Ethan seemed devastated and he dropped his umbrella.
He whined,“What nonsense!You wish I’d died?”
If only one could survive,I’d choose Nathan.
“Why do you still miss him? Why do you have such deep feelings for him?!”
Childishly,Ethan smashed the offerings at Nathan’s grave.
Furious,I threw a fruit tray,splitting his head.
“Don’t disturb Nathan!Get out!”
Blood streamed from Ethan’s forehead,but he stared,numb.
Jessica arrived,trying to pull him away,but he shoved her.
“This is an important things between me and Sarah.Stay out!”
Jessica paled,clutching her belly.“My stomach hurts very much…”
Fearing for the baby,Ethan left with her.
I lay down and thought repeatedly in my mind.
Soon,the doctor called me.
“Ms.Thompson,You still have a chance to recover. Cheer up.
“Even if you cure my body,can you revive a dead heart?”
He fell silent.I tossed my phone into the rain.
I wanted no noise,no worldly distractions.
I just wanted to lie and fell in alseep quietly with Nathan together.
“Ms.Thompson’s will to live is low.Treatment may not work.”
“I’ll do my best to ease her pain.”
“Family,prepare yourselves.She could go any day.”
Ethan stood frozen,tears falling.I thought he’d turned to stone.
“Ethan,bring the divorce papers.I’ll sign.”
I didn’t want to be his wife.
I didn’t want to meet Nathan with that title.
He held my cold hands,eyes full of affection.
“I hope you can live well, okay?
I didn’t understand.I was dying,and now he begin to love me?
Maybe he was jealous of a dead man,unwilling to lose.
To spark my will to live,he mimicked Nathan’s behavior.
Nathan wore white shirts and blue pants;Ethan did too.
Nathan smiled,hands in pockets;Ethan copied.
I vomited,bile rising.
“Stop copying him!You can never replace him.
His face reddened,showing rare insecurity.
“I don’t mind if you see me as him.Fool yourself.”
“Get out!You’re defiling him.You’re not worthy!”
Ethan,as if competing,ate pomegranates frantically.
Even though he ate a lot of pomegranates, he still couldn't replace his elder brother.
He devoured them,face smeared with juice,pathetic as a dog.
I watched him lose it,then saw rashes appear…
Jessica rushed in,stopping his self-harm,slapping him.
“Are you insane?You’re killing yourself!”
“Think of me and our baby!If you die,what do we do?”
She broke down,sobbing.
“Get out. Who is interested in your acting?”
Jessica,enraged,cursed me,telling me to die.
Ethan yelled and fainted,“Shut up!”.
His allergy was severe.He was rushed to the ER.
Three days later,he barely survived, but he was still weak.
“Sarah,why ignore me?I can’t breathe…”
His voice held a pitiful whine.I wanted to laugh.
“Shut up! ”
“You used to care.Why don’t you now?”
Before,I’d fuss over his slightest ailment.
“You’re not my loverWhy should I love you?”
Ethan sniffled and cried very sadly.
“Sarah Thompson,you’re heartless!”
