The ocean was so deep that I couldn't swim up,nearly drowning.
"Claire,wake up.We're here."
I snapped my eyes open, seeing Lucas Hayes looking at me with concern.

I shook my head and tried to calm my racing heart.
The fall into the sea three years ago remained my nightmare.
When I fell,I fought to swim up.
But the sea was vast, and I soon lost strength, just floated in the sea, letting currents carry me anywhere, surrendering myself to the hands of fate.
I broke my leg and scarred my face.
Luckily,Lucas, who was spending his vacation on a remote island, saved me.

He helped me to recover, pulled strings to have the best doctors do plastic surgery about my scars.
Now,I was fully recovered,a new person.
Time for revenge.
As I stepped out of the terminal,a strong hand grabbed my arm.

I stumbled back,but Lucas swiftly caught me,glaring.
"What do you want with my girlfriend, sir?"
I turned.It was James.
Seeing me,James's eyes flickered with awe, then regret. He apologized.
"Sorry,I mistook you for someone."
My old face was scarred, but after recovery,my new face was somewhat similar with the old one,yet more refined.
If I could captivate him once,I could do it again.
James,just wait.
A sharp female voice called from behind.
"James,I'm over here!"
James's face became twisted with annoyance, but he turned and left.
Emma, who looked like she didn’t notice James’s annoyed expression, smiled and chased him, playfully grabbing his arm.
"James, let's take the baby out to eat today.I haven't seen her in forever."
As we passed,I caught the jealous venom in Emma's eyes.
They hadn't changed much.
But their relationship?That seemed different.
Back at the apartment,Lucas shoved a file in my hand.
I flipped through it,a sly smile forming.
Lucas was right—I would be interested.
He swirled his wine glass casually.
"Emma Larson, six years ago, left with James to marry a tycoon abroad.Actually, she was his mistress. When the tycoon's wife found out,she was sent back."
"After you fell,Emma lived with James while still having an affair the tycoon."
"Oh,and she had a kid."
I met his gaze,grinning.
"Whose?"
"No idea."
I got it—Emma didn't dare do a test to find out, instead she used it as leverage to tie both men to her.
Bold woman.
Not bold enough to nearly kill herself with an allergy, though?
Lucas looked at me with a dangerous glint in his eyes.
"But it seemed that your ex can’t forget you.Spent a fortune searching for you at sea for two years,he only stopped when Emma had the kid."
I corrected him.
"Ex-fiancé.We never married."
Lucas smiled, satisfied, leaning in for a kiss.
After the kiss,I nestled in his arms, outlining my revenge plan.
"Don't get mad—it's all for revenge."
Lucas pinched my cheek,feigning anger.
"Revenge,and you're using your charm?"
Only this way could James feel the sting of betrayal.
That's how you deal with a man who wants it all!
After,I"accidentally"ran into James a few times.
Our"shared interests"led to us exchanging contacts.
I crafted a persona:just returned to the country,lost in a new city,with a useless boyfriend.
James just loved fragile damsels in distress, didn't he?
How else did Emma win him back so fast?
Emma naturally noticed James's change in attitude towards her and bombarded me with hateful texts.
I blocked them all,her mean words couldn’t hurt me anymore.
Time to cause trouble for her.
