Realizing she had nothing left to lose, fear abandoned her, replaced by a cold, calculating glee.
"Go ahead, ,Daniel.Kill me now."
"Then you'll never be the innocent Professor Thompson again!"

"You'll be just like me,a pathetic worm!"
"And how will you face your fiancée in the afterlife? She’ll never forgive you for what you’ve become!"
Daniel's hand tightened around the carving knife, and he roared,"I'm nothing like you!"
With a twisted smile,Emily's eyes were filled with madness as she stared straight at Daniel."Professor Thompson, have you forgotten? It was you who killed her with your own hands. You should have trusted her,but you didn't.Your betrayal and doubt killed her over and over again. How can you blame me?"
I watched as Daniel, who was usually so composed, had red-rimmed eyes. His trembling hands stabbed at Emily again and again, but each strike deliberately missed her vital organs, leaving her hanging between life and death.
"Don't worry,I won't let you die.Because you're not worthy!"

Finally,he picked up the plaster and sealed her wounds. Then, bit by bit,he encased Emily's entire body in the sculpture, leaving only her eyes exposed, watching her struggle and despair.
"Do you know what else sets me apart from you?"Daniel suddenly said.
As police sirens wailed in the distance, he gave her a cold, final smile and placed the carving knife down.
"Because I still have the bottom line of law and morality."

Those who do evil will go to hell.Daniel had known from the start he wouldn’t escape unscathed.
Daniel was taken away by the police.Just as he had expected,Emily didn't die.She was rushed to the hospital and saved. However, the police followed the clue and found evidence of her crimes, completely wiping out the criminal gang's lair. But what awaited her in the future was likely a reunion...in prison.
After this incident,Daniel was brought back to the criminal police team.He confessed everything and accepted full responsibility for his actions. There was only one condition: he asked for a private trial. He wanted to preserve what little dignity remained for me, the deceased.
Considering his contribution to catching the criminals, the police agreed to his request.
On the day of my funeral,Daniel, wearing handcuffs and prison clothes, stood at the entrance and stared for a long time. When he turned around,it seemed as if he saw my figure in the crowd. Finally,he shed tears of regret.
"Annie...I'm sorry."
"If...if I had believed you earlier, would things have been differen?"
Watching him like this, I felt nothing—no anger, no sorrow. What’s the point of his words now? It’s like mourning a lost child after it’s already gone, or wiping away tears after they’ve dried.
I turned away with a cold laugh. I consider it my misfortune to have met you in this life. I hope never to see you again in the next. It’s exhausting… I’m finally letting you go, Daniel Thompson.
