The only way to find out is either ask the victim's family about the kid or ask the kid himself. But there's one thing they want to investigate, the one who told the police about the crime happened in Jones's House that night.
The team tries to get some information from their neighbors but no one knows about what happened. They told the team that they didn't heard any noise from the house, other says they were not yet at home that time because they attended an event out of town.
Yes! It is really hard to fight for this kind of case without witness. The only witness they have is the kid, the kid that is possibly related to his aunt's murderer.
Aside from that, the evidences they have are not enough besides the accused didn't see the killer's face and didn't even recognize it. He just saw a shadow but no one can prove that in the court, neither the evidences nor Mr. Jones's statement.
"Honestly, we can only prove that our analyzation is right if we found the kid," Vhiann uttered.
"Yes. My best friend is right! I guess it would be better if we go to Mrs. Jones's Parents. We can get some information from them," Hannah suggested while looking at them. "Besides, I don't see anything wrong with asking. We all know that they only wanted to get the justice what their daughter deserves. If they will know that Mr. Jones is innocent, they can help us finding the real killer," she added while tapping her thigh with her fingers.
"She has a point with that attorney. So, what will be our next step?" Adam asked.
"If you think the victim's parents can help us solve this case then what are we waiting for? Let us go there and find out," the lawyer agreed believing on what his wise detectives said.
They locked the door and leave the house. Atty. Galiego talked to the neighbors that if someone asks if there are people who went in this house, "please don't tell him we stayed here today," he requested. "This is for all your safety. If someone went here not familiar with you just tell me or contact me, here is my card," he offered.
The neighbors promised not to tell anything about what they have done in the house. We will contact you as soon as we saw someone went here," they said looking at the detectives giving assurance that they will follow the plan.
"Thank you for your cooperation," they said and immediately left.
After an hour, they reached the house of the victim's parents. They knocked on the door...
A woman with poor eyesight opened the door. She looked at them trying to recognize their face. She called her husband, "Jackson! Jacksoooonnnnn! but her husband didn't give a response then she turned back and said, "Wait for a while, you go inside. Come on! Sit down," she offered their white and soft sofa. "I'll just get my eye glasses because I can't see you."
She got the eyeglass from its box and wear it. "Okay! I can see you now. Is there anything you want from us?" the woman asked then, she sat on her rocking chair opposite of the sofa. Her husband goes downstairs and join his wife talking to them.
Atty. Galiego started to ask them about their son-in-law, Mr. Jones like how is he as husband to their daughter? followed by how is he with his brother-in-law? and how did he treat you as his mother and father-in-law?
The victim's parents looked at each other. "What do you mean, how is he with his brother-in-law? We only have one child," they answered.
"Our son-in-law is a decent man, he is rich and he never treated us different from them nor treated us something wrong. He is kind and an almost perfect son-in-law. We are very comfortable with him; he is very hardworking and caring husband to her wife and to his soon to be child.
"Mrs. Jones is pregnant"? Vhiann curiously asked.
"Yes, she is. She is 2 weeks pregnant. They told us about it. That's why we still don't know what to feel," Mr. Jackson Thames said.
"She and the child doesn't deserve what happened to them. I still don't understand why her husband did that to her," Mrs. Thames said while her tears are about to fall.
"One more question, do your daughter has boy cousins?" Atty. Galiego asked with a weird feeling about what they had discovered.
"Yes, she has, but all her cousins are not here, they lived in other country far away from us. That was a long time ago when they left the country and live far away from us," they responded.
"She has nephews and nieces, right?" Hannah asked.
"Yes, she has, but like what I said earlier. Her cousins' children are all lived in other country. She doesn't have nieces and nephews here and they are not planning to go back here, they loved to stay in the country where they are now," Mrs. Thames said.
"Thank you for answering our questions but please, promise us not to tell all of these to your lawyer until the case is not yet solved and the accused is not yet punished guilty. This is for your own sake," Atty. Galiego requested.
"Why we shouldn't tell it to our lawyer? Of course, we will tell him what happened at this moment," Mr. Thames said. "But I have gut feel that our son-in-law will not do that. But because of what the police officers told us that their two eyes have seen what happened, we believed on them," he added.
"It's up to you if you'll tell your lawyer that we went here in your house or not," Adam said. "But we want you to think about that not just once but many times," he added.
They thanked Mr. and Mrs. Thames for answering their questions and left the house silently without even telling them that their son-in-law, Mr. Jones is an innocent man.
