Chapter 39 James

Yeah, you heard her. It was James who pick her up at the park.
"Okay...okay..." she let out a yawn and stretched her hand above her head before grumbling a reply to him, twisting her body to grab the things on the backseat that James prepared for her.
She took out her mask and put it over her face before wearing her red curly wigs. The black mask covered half the top of her face. Black clothes covered her body as the red gloves covered her hands, a long red coat hung on her back.
It was a little large. However, she can't complain, considering it was hiding her body from the world. Her eyes went from light-blue eyes to green eyes because of the contact lenses.
She stepped out of the car and walked towards the newfound base. James had informed them that she would be showing up today.
The base is vast, and much to her satisfaction is the luxurious and modern look on it.
James gestured for the guards to open the gate. They open it and bowed, causing her heart to jump a bit in surprise. She was still not used to this old gesture she received from the guards back at Keith's mansion.
James had told her about what she should do on their way here. Some of the stuff he said to her was stressing her out. But, James promised to help her deal with it.
She had turned off her phone and the tracker so that Keith can't track her. For the time being, of course.
She steps inside the mansion or the base and almost steps back as 300 pairs of eyes turned their heads to look at them. The room went silent, and James takes the cue to introduce her.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is our new leader, T. She will be taking over our gang's from now on."
She noticed a few women on the whole group of 300 people. All of them stand up from their seats, turning to her direction before bowing their heads and look back up. However, a few people who look older than her sat still on their chairs.
"James, did you say that our new leader is a ‘she'?"
A 30 something man asked. His nose was slightly crooked, and his eyes held malice—the rest of the man who was sitting down chokes out a laugh at his question.
"Yes, do you have any problem with that, Mr Andrew?" James asked with a frown.
"Do you expect me to bow my head to a girl? A young one to be exact." he spat.
The room was filled with whisper around the crowd as Vale gritted her teeth in annoyance and anger.
How dare he speaks so low of her?
Vale pulled out her gun and shot him straight in the head, stopping all the whispers. The last thing he heard before she pulled the trigger was, "I don't need someone who doesn't show respect to me."
She put down her gun before looking back at them, "Anyone else who doesn't agree with me being the leader? Or are you standing against the law of the gang which will be cutting your tongue as punishment?" she asked.
The rest of the people who were still sitting scrambled to stand up and bow their heads at her.
Vale walks in the middle of them as she ascended the stairs leading to the throne-like chair above and sat down. James is standing beside her.
"Sit," she ordered.
They all sat down and hang their heads low. Vale bit her lip to avoid the ‘tsk' sound from coming out off her mouth.
"James," she whispers to him.
"Yes, Boss?" he lowers his head.
"We're they always like this?"
"Yes."
Vale nodded, "As a new leader, I wanted to change some of our gang rules. First, when I speak, I want you to raise your head."
They all raise their heads at the same time.
"Don't try to betray the gang or me. If you got threatened, your loyalty in this gang should always be the first. Don't sell information about our gang to another gang or unrelated people."
She stopped a bit before continuing, "I know this gang is running human trafficking since it was formed. From now on, there will be no human trafficking. Unless they want to do it willingly. The rest of our mission such as taking over another gang, drug and gun selling, club and the rest will still be running as usual,"
As much as she hated drugs, she needs to have income rolling in.
"I expected my members to treat each other as family and not choking each other's throat. Increase the training from every aspect."
"When I am absent, I expect you to inform my right hand, James, if you got anything that must be dealt with."
"Is that understood?" she asked.
"Yes, Boss!" they replied.
Vale rosed up from her seat, and they did the same.
"Just so you know, I can't stand the sight of people who underestimated me. I'll have to check on you, so-" she stopped, scanning the crowd.
"-I would know if there is a rat inside this gang and if you're against my rules, enlighten me. So, that I can deal with you personally," she warns them in a deadly tone.
