He put on his pants before walking to the kitchen, calmly expecting Vale to be cooking.
But, when he stepped into the kitchen, there's only one person in it.
"Hey, Jake." he greeted him while leaning on the door and folding his arms across his chest.
"Hey," Jake replies.
"Where's Vale?"
"Wow, man. Don't you miss me?" he put his hand on his heart in mock hurt.
Keith grinned, "You've always been on my sight. How can I miss you?" he asked.
"Yeah...yeah sure..." Jake rolled his eyes.
"So, where is she? "
"She's not with you?" he raised his eyebrows in a questioning manner.
"She's not in the room."
"That's weird. She's usually in the kitchen every morning," he stated.
"I know that."
Jake went silent for a while, and his face displayed something that was easily read by Keith.
He sighed, "Well...after we went out at midnight yesterday, she went to the basement and she was mad..."
"Midnight?" Keith narrowed his eyes as his heart swirl in jealousy.
Jake put his hands up, shaking his head and urged Keith to sit down on the barstool in front of him.
"I was sleeping when Vale knocked on my door asking for car keys. She said she wanna go to the Ice Cream Parlor. I guessed she just wanted me to accompany her for a short while." he stopped.
Keith's ears perk up. Vale shouldn't have gone out after they were attacked!
"Dude, there's no Ice Cream Parlor at midnight," Keith stated.
"I know, right. Do you know what I'm thinking when she said that?" he asked, smirking.
Uh-oh!
"What?"
"That you got her pregnant and she's been craving things, but you're being such an asshole by not going with her." he grinned.
"Okay, wait-Did you just call me an asshole?" Keith was about to give Jake a smack on the back of his head when he caught him saying that he was an asshole.
"Did I say that? You heard it wrong." he blinked innocently.
"So, what happened after that?" Keith ignored him.
"I went out with her, and she drives the car while I sleep. Little did I know, she drove the car to Kenzie's house. How did she know the address? I've got no clue. I followed her and Kenzie was already waiting. She told Kenzie to track down some unknown number on her phone." he stopped.
"Unknown number?"
Why didn't she tell him about this?
Keith gritted his teeth.
He trusted her and yet she didn't trust him.
"Yeah, there's no one who can track her phone number other than us," he said.
"It was done by the best tracker then. Why didn't she tell me about this? I'm her leader. She's supposed to tell me about this!" Keith stated, aggravated.
"You're a leader, but apparently for her, she thinks about you as a person close to her. More so, the one she cares the most. I've told her to tell you, but she doesn't want to. Maybe, she doesn't want you to get worried."
Keith sighed, rubbing his temple. Of course, he's going to be so fucking worried.
"That's all?"
"...and we might...Ugh...had an argument!" he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
"What argument?"
"I don't want her to get in public when she told me she'll do anything to protect us-the gang. Honestly, that wasn't what I was expecting. I mean, wasn't she scared that her family would know about her?"
Keith grunted, of course, she doesn't care.
Who would care for being pressure and accused by her own parents?
His heart constricted, remembering the broken façade on Vale's face after her parents called.
"That's-so-not-Vale." he sighed.
"True. Vale dropped the topic and went straight to the basement after we...arrived home. She's not one to give up so easily. She's stubborn as hell."
"Shit!" Keith cursed and stand up, pulling out his phone from his back pocket, searching for her number.
He dialled it several times, but she wasn't answering.
"I'm gonna check the basement." Keith turned to Jake.
"I'll check the garage." he runs outside.
Keith ran to the basement to find it empty.
Jake ran to him and said that there was no missing car on the parking lot. They asked the guard, but none of them knows about it. The others got up and searched for Vale around the mansion and Keith ran to his office and checked the CCTV.
Of course, she will use the balcony and run when the guard can't see her.
"Damn it!" Keith slammed his fist on the table, hard.
Stubborn fire!
