"I was in my bedroom when I heard someone throwing rocks at my window," Wendy began. "I thought it was Beta Edward so I walked outside but instead I found Charles. I haven't seen him for a very long time. He grabbed me by my hips beforeI could resist, and dragged me towards the forest. I tried screaming so loud and that's when Luna found me."
"I'm glad I did," Anastasia murmured. "Do you have any idea why he came back?"
"I don't know," she sighed. "I thought once I see him again, I'd have forgotten everything he did to me. But I was wrong. He abused me and for a long time, I tolerated it. Until it came to a point I couldn't take it anymore. I don't wanna be the girl who stayed just because she's afraid to be lonely. So I ran away. That's when Alpha Draco found me and kept me instead of turning me away. And for that, I owe him my life."
Wendy looked up at Alpha Draco with so much admiration and respect. Anastasia was sad to hear her hard past this way. Her mate would have to pay for what he did to Wendy. Anastasia would make sure he suffered just as Wendy had suffered in her past.
"We have to know if this is his only motive," Alpha Draco stated with a serious face. "He might be onto something than just his mate. Why else would he come back here and decide to take Wendy after all these years?"
Wendy nodded. "We've been separated for a decade. Within those years, he didn't try to find me. He didn't search for me. I never heard from him ever since. Until now.."
"How did he know you're here?" Beta Edward inquired.
"Did you go somewhere to meet someone from a distant past? Perhaps a family member? Or an old friend?" Alpha Draco questioned.
"I.. I think I did.. I visited my old nana out of town a few weeks ago. We had a long talk. There are a lot of things happening in the Crescent Pack where I met Charles. Apparently, the pack is in poor shape. Alpha Fred is sick and Luna Rena is worried he won't survive."
"The question is.. why is Beta Charles here knowing his pack is dying and going through hardships?" Anastasia asked, confused. "He's a Beta. He should know pack and Alpha needs him now more than ever."
"I think I know the reason," Wendy muttered under her breath. "He's running away from his responsibilities and he wants me to be there for him at his weakest point. He just wants to use me again and use me to his advantage.."
"Perhaps your old nana tell him your location?" Anastasia asked with worry.
"Oh, no," Wendy murmured, a sudden realization dawning on her. "Something must have happened to her. I know Charles.. he'll do anything to get what he want. I have to go find her. Something isn't right."
"No, stay here," Edward said trying to calm her down. "I'll have someone find her."
Wendy buried her face in her hands. "If something bad happens to her, I'll never forgive myself."
Anastasia rushed beside Wendy and tried to calm her tears, patting her back for some relief. "It's not your fault, Wendy. Everything will be alright."
A sudden knock on the door interrupted the meeting. The door opened and Thomas urgently walked in. "Alpha Draco, we have him chained already."
Alpha Draco nodded. "We'll be right there in a minute."
"Are you ready to talk to him?" Anastasia asked Wendy who looked so down.
"I.. I'm not ready to face him, Luna.. but I.. I have to." She raised her head with a determined look and nodded towards Alpha Draco. "Let's face him."

Entering the dungeon, Anastasia could see the sudden change in Wendy's facial expression. She was angry and disappointed with her mate. Her bravery was affected with his presence. Seeing him again definitely made her remember certain memories in the past. Anastasia hoped she could make Wendy forget but it wasn't that easy to forget certain people. Especially the bad ones.
"So You came to see me again," Charles said as soon as he saw Wendy walking inside. He took a quick look at her and everyone around her.
"You brought friends?"
"You're not the one to ask questions, Beta Charles," Anastasia spoke with all seriousness. "Why are you here?"
"I came to take my mate back," he answered grimly as he looked over at Wendy. "I missed you, dear. All those years without you was lonely. Don't you miss me too?"
"You liar!" Wendy growled. "You don't miss me. You never cared about me! And now you want me back? I know you want something but I don't what it is. Cut the crap and tell us what you want!"
He chuckled, as if deeply amused. "You're breaking my heart, my dear. I thought you missed me too."
"I don't miss you one bit, Charles. If anything, I'm glad I left that bed we both shared 10 years ago."
His eyes darkened. "And whose bed are you sleeping in now, another Beta's?" he asked, glaring at Beta Edward who also gave him a glare. "Do you fancy Betas, dear? Do you like fucking another Beta pretending it's me?"
"You fuckin—" everyone rushed to stop Beta Edward who wanted to charge towards the prisoner.
His laugh echoed across the hall. "I hit a nerve."
"How dare you say that?! When you were the one who wanted to take me for granted?!" Wendy demanded, tears pooling in her eyes. "You treated me like shit. I never felt like a true mate for you! You never cared for me!"
He glared at her with disbelief. "I'm sick in the head, you know that!" He bit back. "But instead of staying to work out our relationship. What did you do?! You left me! You left me alone to deal with my own darkness! My life is a mess!! and it's all because of you!" He growled angrily.
"How is it my fault that you ruined your life?" Wendy snarled.
"Ever since you left, My sickness got worse. I wanted to get you back but it's obvious you didn't want to be with me. So I did something to be what you want. But I failed! I'm Not worthy of your love. I know that now but I still want you back."
Wendy shook her head. "I'm not coming back."
He snickered evilly. "You know what? I don't even care! I'm glad you said that. Perhaps I'll have something else.. Something I find to be more valuable than just a mate.."
Everyone looked at him with a frown, confused faces focused on him. "What the fuck are you saying?!" Alpha Draco demanded angrily. He was talking in riddles and he had enough.
"I want Alpha Fred's granddaughter, the rightful heir of the Crescent pack." Then he looked at Anastasia, a smile never leaving his face. "I'll know that face anywhere. Killing your mother was the greatest revenge I've ever done."
Silent tears rolled down Anastasia's shocked eyes. The moment of truth piercing her heart like an arrow.
