Chapter 446 DINNER

1410words
At exactly 9:pm, both Noah and Anna arrived at the Declan's old mansion. They could already see only a few cars in the large yard and Anna knew Evelyn had been correct when she said she the party will only have a few guest.

"Your hands." She heard Noah said when they almost stepped in and she placed her hands on his. Noah narrowed his eyes at his silly wife, was she still thinking about Imelda again. Noah shook his head, he didn't know what else to do to prove his love for her again.

When both people stepped in, Evelyn rushed to Anna. "I almost thought you wouldn't make it." She said hugging her daughter in law.

"I would never miss my children's party for the world." Anna said softly. She wpuld have missed it if Imelda hadn't returned. Attending parties and social gatherings were so exhausting for her these days. All she wants to do is sit at home and enjoy her delicious meals.

"Son." Evelyn greeted her son.

"Mother." Noah responded for the woman to nod. At least they were getting somewhere in their relationship. Noah would never even speak to her before, but now, he calls her mother.

"Come, the guest are waiting." Evelyn led them to the small room where she entertained her guest. Since this wasn't some extravagant party, it was a party to inform her friends about her daughter in law's pregnancy. The coming of her grandchildren.

Evelyn had always thought Beth would be the one to give her her first grandchild, she never knew Noah of all people would actually be the one.

"Everyone, meet my grand daughter." Evenlyn announced with pride.

T more I realized this was not a good idea. Maybe I should turn around, maybe I should rethink all of these.

Maybe I'm not ready to meet anyone.

I turned my gaze to my friends who cheered me to go on and my courage got back. I deserved this, I had little time left to find my happiness, and I wasn't going to jeopardize it cause of some little fears I was yet to overcome.

I wasn't always a badass, but a few circumstances turned me this way. I wanted to explore the world, to do the things I've never done before. I've decided to throw my morals away, to be who I'm not. To live a carefree life.

The further I got close to them, I could feel my heart pounding hard against my chest. They were so... so Intimidating.

I could feel my feet vibrating at the same frequency as my heart and that wasn't a good sign. I gulped a large bowl of saliva as I approached them and only stopped when I was a few inches away from them.

I tried turning away but someone grabbed my shoulders immediately pulling me closer to the blue sofa. My eyes widened almost popping out of my socket when we stood before the four men.

"Hey, look what I found." Six eyes were turned on us. All three men were as handsome as hell, except one person, the man in a black shirt. The one that didn't even act like someone said a thing.

"Who's she?" One of them asked. "The woman you asked for." He pulled me to seat on a part of the curved sofa. My entire body tensed up noticing their gazes on me.

This is wrong. I should not be here. I'm not the one they're looking for. This is not the reason I wanted to be here in the first place. But this was another thing working for me tonight, at least he just saved me all of the stress of finding my way among them.

I should say hi, rather than looking awkward before these men, but all words failed me.

"SAY SOMETHING BASH, DON'T BE STUPID NOW!!

I screamed in my head, but my mouth suddenly turned heavy unable to form a sigh not to think of a sound that could transform Into words. After so many failed attempts, it hunged open and stayed that way.

Of course, Bash will always embarrass you when you need her the most.

"I guess she's just so shy, uh what a cute little bunny." He pats my hair and I smiled at his words. I was given a glass of wine which I gulped all of it in one go.

"Woah, she's got a good Dutch courage." The man who brought me over to the blue couch said. "You want more?" He asked showing a bottle of more wine. I nodded like a little child who just found a candy. I had no idea of the content in the bottle but I let him pour more into my glass. I drank all of it placing my glass on the table for more.

"This is quite entertaining." A brown-haired man in a grey suit said sipping from his cup.

"So what's your name sexy one?" The brown haired man asked. "Bash." I said simply emptying the third glass.

"Why aren't you drunk from your third glass?" He asked with a frown. "Is it meant get make me drunk?"

"This is actually the first time you're having a lengthy conversation with a stranger Collan, don't you think?" Another man in black suit said crossing his legs with a grin. "I presume that is none of your business Mr. Damon. Over to you sexy. Yes, as a matter of fact, that wine contains 70% alcohol, you're meant to be passed out by now." He said.

"Well look at that, maybe she's really a strong headed." The man beside me said. "Anyways, I'm Arno, Nash."

"It's Bash."

"Right, Bunny." He smiled.

After a while, all three men got rooted in their conversation forgetting I even existed but the cold man from earlier didn't get attached to them. He just sat quietly still buried in his phone.

While sitting idle, my curious tipsy eyes and mind lingered curiously around the man in a black shirt who has not said a word since I got here as silent hiccups left my throat. My eyes traced his hair down to the gold necklace hanging around his neck to his built in chest which was slightly exposed.

His black hair cascaded down to his face covering his facial features so I couldn't see that. But from the little I've seen, I could already tell he was beautiful. I blinked many times staring at the huge figure before me as I kept sipping from my almost empty glass.

As if sensing my stare he lifted his face to me and I choked with the drink in my mouth.

"Now now dear, drink softly." Said Arno, as he placed his hands on my back patting it softly. I was quite uncomfortable with his gestures, but I was relieved. I turned my gaze to peep at my Mr perfect again quickly and almost choked again seeing his eyes still on me.

He was terrifyingly handsome, and he screamed danger, like someone I should run away from. Someone I shouldn't even let close to me. But rather than flight, my senses danced in excitement. I should be frightened by the man who seems like he could destroy a full nation with a spoken word.

But for some odd reason, I wasn't scared, for some odd reason he made me happy, for some odd reason he was the one. The one I've spent weeks searching for.

His gaze was fixed on mine, his dark soulless eyes never leaving mine.

I waved whispering a hi, after the humiliation I put myself through. This is not how to act before the man I wanted, I'm pretty sure I look less appealing to him now. He returned his gaze to whatever he was doing, ignoring me like I didn't exist.

"Stupid you." I cursed my stupid self inwardly. Maybe I'm just not his type. Of course what was I thinking?

Another hiccup left my throat as everything twirled in circles. I couldn't keep my balance anymore. I blinked rapidly, struggling to stay awake, but my body was giving into the intoxication of the wine I had.

"Is this a...?" I heard a faint deep voice in my head as I slowly drifted to sleep.

The sweet scent of strawberry and fresh fruit wafted through the air, I took in a deep silent breath to absorb more of the sweet scent.
