Chapter 440 CAUGHT IN THE ACT 1

1156words
Gina was doing her house chores when she saw both people walk into the room. She had seen Nari behaving strangely all morning and tried to avoid her. But right now she was curious to know what they were up to. She had no idea why she didn't trust these people.

She wanted to tell Kate about it, but the woman was pretty occupied too with the letter she had been writing. Gina had been up all night helping Late with the letters. She couldn't explain but everyone in the mansion seemed to act so weirdly since she arrived. From Kate down to her adopted daughter and then the man Nari claimed was her husband.

"What's going on here?" She asked both people as she stepped inside the bedroom. Mack and Nari froze.

"What are you doing in here?" Mack asked her back with a frown. They were both in the middle of something important and didn't need any distractions whatsoever right now.

They had just two hours remaining to pay off the 100 million, or else the video of them sending Nari's family to the mental hospital would be out. Mack had just gotten from a tremendous torture to go to prison. He couldn't spend the rest of his life and his parents lying in a cell.

He was the one that got his parents involved in the first place. They had no idea about it, he was so stupid and in love back then that he did the most crazy things. Killing Nari's father hadn't been his fault either.

He recalled she called him that night crying that he was hitting her again. Mack was so angry that he had rushed down there with hired thugs. He was young, he had no idea it would result in something serious.

He wasn't supposed to die, one blow couldn't have done so much damage but it did. He had murdered that man that day all because of Nari. Only to find out everything Nari said had been a lie. She just wanted to run away from them and she used him for it.

With his family's connections, he didn't go to prison but now those connections are gone. If the news about it ever out in public again, he is gone for good.

"I heard noises so I came to know if someone had entered the mansion to steal," Gina said.

"You can see it's just us Gina. You have a family meeting to prepare for go do that and leave us alone." Mack waved her off immediately. Both he and Nari have turned Kate's room upside down but they still couldn't find anything related to her new bank details anywhere.

The bank details Nari was aware of were the old one which is now locked by the royal family. She had no idea when Kate opened a new account.

Gina was about to step out of the room, when, "Hey." Mack called her.

"We weren't in here if you're asked. If we hear about this incident from anyone, you can as well kiss your life goodbye." Gina nodded and started walking away. She knew Mack and Nari weren't to be trusted. She didn't know why she'd had these evil feelings about them since she arrived.

They are going to hurt Kate one day, and she prays she won't be here for it.

"I don't think it's in here Mack," Nari said.

"Why would she hide her bank details from us? She trusts us." Mack moved his hands through his hair. He knows Kate to be blinded when it comes to them, she trusts them with her everything, so why else will she hide her bank details from them?

"When you left Kate discovered her jewels had been exchanged." Mack frowned.

"How did she find out about it, I made sure the jewels were identical." He had given Nari the best dealer that could make identical jewels. Kate can't know about it.

"We had no money and she wanted to sell those jewels. She found out it was fake and hasn't trusted me since then." Mack sighed.

Now they have to work extra hard to earn the old woman's trust, but he doubts they will because they're about to steal something even bigger. Maybe it was time to let Kate know about the huge problem before them, but he doubted she would assist them in any way.

"There is no need searching anymore we just have to wait for her to return. Once she's back, it'll be easy to steal it from her." At the same time, Kate arrived at the mansion. She was super happy she had gotten the massage she wanted all these while.

Oh how she's missed her old life, she hated the life she had now. She would kill to get her old life back. She had done a little shopping for her and Nari too. She knew they both had to look presentable for the meeting at hand.

Staring at the dress in her hands, Kate knew Nari would just love it. She smiled.

"Welcome back madam." Gina greeted immediately.

"Where's Nari, give this to her and..."

"Mother you're back." Nari walked to her side.

"I see you took my advice and got a massage?" Nari smiled.

"And you didn't take mine, you're still looking so hideous." Kate reprimanded.

"I... I can fix it in no time." Nari said quickly moving a few strands of her hair to the side. She looked truly hideous, like a monster. Even she didn't see how bad she looked.

"We have just five minutes before the guests start arriving. I've always known you to be a very punctual person, Nari, what going on today?" Nari's eyes followed the purse in her hands. That is all she wanted, if she can lay her hands on that purse, her misery will be over, but this stupid bitch decided to hold her money and purse today of all days.

It's like all the elements of nature have risen to destroy her today. She can't afford to go to prison. Whoever was after her really wanted her dead, they really wanted to turn her into a mad woman.

"Kate dear." The first guest arrived. It was Martha and her husband George. This time she didn't arrive with their son.

"Nari is that you, what happened to you? You look miserable." Martha's uncouth words rang in the air. Embarrassed Nari was about to run away from the eyes of the other guest that started coming in when she saw Anna and Noah walk in.

Her enemy was here. The same person that has decided to frustrate her had arrived.

Anna wasn't smiling when she arrived either, she was going to be in the gathering of the same people she knew had hurt her aunt and grandfather. These people deserve nothing but death for the things they have done to them.
