Most of them had no idea what they were doing there when the case wasn't so serious.
"She's perfectly fine. Luckily the dagger is new and didn't pierce deep to affect her vital organs. It was merely even a scratch." The doctor announced and Evelyn sighed. Whatever happened tonight was definitely an eyes opener, the Declan's will not be hosting any party in a while.
Kate who was standing at a corner watched from the sidelines with her adopted daughter. Both women looked really bored but they had to pretend to care. Noah's sector of the mansion has been shut from every and anyone as the medical team were also attending to his wife.
Nothing happened to Anna, she was only pushed to the floor, yet that man was acting like something priceless had been affected.
Kate was fed up with all of their dramatic acts. She never believed these people could be this dramatic.
"Thank goodness Beth is saved. My Anna seems to like her so well, I don't know what she would do if anything happened to her." Kate laughed trying to lesson the tensed atmosphere, but her words only made her look so awkward. Especially after her private conversation with Evelyn. It's a conversation she wished never happened.
"You should rest for the night. I'll ask the maids to prepare a room for you." Evelyn walked into her daughter's room and close the door. She needed a little time alone with her daughter. There are a few things she would want to discuss with her.
The doctor left after his brief discussion with Lionel and Vincent. Both mean we're still a little shaken after the event of the night. This only proofs no matter how tight they think their security was, it wasn't just strong enough.
"What should we do with that woman and her family. It's obvious they would go around spreading fake rumors and news after the event of the night." Vincent asked. The playful old man was gone now and is replaced with the overprotective boss everyone knows about. Vincent Declan will never be alive and watch anyone harm his family.
"Noah already took care of her. She's in the police custody for the threat against Anna." Lionel said. They all knew the dagger was aimed at Anna, Anna had been the target tonight and had narrowly escaped from the assault.
They've all prayed and fasted for months and months hoping for a child. Just when God decided to bless them with double blessings, someone from hell, decides it was time to kill their babies again.
Vincent couldn't even begin to imagine the dreadful event if that dagger had touched his daughter in law.
"How is she and the babies?" He asked his son.
"Still in shock. But the fall didn't affect the children. They're both fine. Noah is taking good care of them, he said he doesn't want visitors for the night." Lionel explained to his father as he rubbed his chin.
"I want that woman to suffer more than being in the police custody." Vincent said.
"You know how Noah is. A restraining order will be sent to her family and an undertaking will be signed. They'll never be able to get close to Anna again. Don't do anything stupid father." Lionel warned. Vincent sighed. His family has turkey gotten so soft along the years.
Left for him, he would have pulled a bullet through that woman's head tonight without blinking. She would have said high to the devil in hell for him tonight.
Once the maids were done clearing two spare rooms as asked, Kate and Nari were both escorted to their respective rooms. It would be the first time in weeks both woman have gotten to sleep in soft normal mattresses like always.
The mattress back at the old mansion was old and itchy. Kate was sure she was going to go insane if she stayed in that mansion one more day. The place was insects and pest infected, neither she or Nari could clean the mansion. They were barely managing their lives since they lost their mansion.
Kate regrets every night why she had made such mistake, but there's nothing she can do now. She's lost everything they ever owned in the blink of an eye. No she has to depend on the little things Anna brings her way. She couldn't believe she would ever side with Nari, but she needed Mack now more than ever.
The useless son in law she hadn't valued before now has become her last hope in the end. She needs to find a way for Anna to free him. She would do anything to make Anna free him.
"How do you feel?" Noah asked his wife as he added the last bit of ointment to the little scratch on her skin. Anna shivered a little when he blew air into the substance.
"Great Noah. I'm just a little bit surprised Hanna would actually try to harm me." Anna confessed. She hadn't thought about anything until the woman lauched at her, and for the first time in a while, she was too shocked to move or defend herself.
She had only moved when she remembered her children. It's a good thing Beth was there to save her. If Beth hadn't pushed her aside, she would have been killed tonight.
"Things happen." Came Noah's response.
"How is Beth doing?" Anna asked. She wanted to thank her sister in law personally for saving her life, but even she knows Noah will never let her leave his sight ever again. He might even follow her for her photoshoot tomorrow and the day after that one. Probably till she's given birth. She rolled her eyes.
"She's asleep. You should sleep as well, tomorrow's going to be a very long day." Noah tucked his wife further in bed as he laid behind her.
For the first time in his life, he had been so scared of losing his family.
