1031words
She couldn't imagine selling customized jewels this expensive to anyone. These jewels were specially made for her, from the best of the best. Most of them were given in the past by suitors that came her way, even if she never ended up marrying any one of them.
With the jewels in her hands she could make more than enough money today to clear their debts and get her life back. She had no idea why she never thought of it this way since a week ago. She would have never depended on her neice to do anything for her.
Kate proudly walked into the store like she always does. It doesn't matter if she had no money now, after she gives out these jewels, she would be rich again. She just needed to be careful not to meet anyone she knows in here. After the news Anna had published today, it would be really embarrassing if someone from the higher ups see her selling her jewels.
She had brought these upon herself anyway, she needed to endure whatever she's done for the time being.
"Hello." She greeted the girl by the counter with the brightest smile. The girl quickly recognized who she was since her face was all over the internet already for days now. Everyone knows by now she's the infamous Anna Sui's Aunt. The Sui's have ruined their reputation in the whole of Summerlane, no one saw them as a reputable family anymore because of Kate's animosity with her neice.
Theast straw she pulled had destroyed everything for them. She had ruined everything
"Welcome madam." The girl greeted politely. No matter how much they know about these people, it was best to keep things to themselves.
"How many I help you today?" The girls asked.
"I came here for a little business deal. Where is your manager?" Kate said proudly. She has no intention of staying more than she has, she just wanted to be done with her deal and leave before anyone sees her. She had tried looking for a good jewelry shop in town and this is the closest she could find.
"I'll go get my boss right away." Kate was led to seat on a couch as the sales representative went ahead to fetch her manager. After a while, a broad looking man in a black attire arrived before Kate.
"Hello madam." He greeted politely and Kate's mood lightened. She had tried to call her Jewelers before she arrived here but since they have all seen the news about her family being bankrupt, they didn't respond to her. Kate has marked the faces of every single person who had refused to help her when she needed them the most, she would make sure they pay for everything they did to her. Especially the Shens.
"I'm here for a quick business sir as I do not I tend to waste your time neither do I think you would want to waste mine." She said proudly.
"Anything for you madam." The manager said. He was more than excited such dignified woman like Kate Sui was here to exchange a jewelry.
"I have a few jewels collection you would love. But I need you not to sell them, I'm only using them as a collateral for money and will be back for them." Kate made her point clear enough for even a toddler to understand. She couldn't afford to lose jewels that can buy his entire generation, but since she was in desperate need for money, she decided to rent her jewels to be back for them when she has the money.
'That is not an issue madam. Luckily we don't only sell jewels in here. We make special deals for special customers too." The manager said.
"Can I see the jewel?" With how well spoke Kate was, he assumed it was some high maintenance family pondant that was sacred to her. He would charge her so much for it.
"I don't think I would want to seat here and show you the kind of jewel I have. And I don't need extra eyes." Kate eyed the sale rep on her table. She didn't want anyone else to see the kind of jewel she had. Jewels that can buy their entire existence and future generations to come.
"Kate Sui." Someone called from behind and when Kate turned around, it was none other than Victoria who just stepped in with a woman beside her. They were here to exchange a jewel Victoria found outdated. Rather than throwing it away, she decided to get a few dollars from it.
Who knew she would see Kate present in here?
"Victoria." Kate greeted, her pride not letting her look at the woman in the eyes. This woman had been present at the last party she hosted. For someone with an active online presence, there's no way she must have not heard everything going on. Kate stood guard, just Incase they try to mock her today. She was ready for any and everyone.
"It's so nice to see you're doing good Kate. You know. After everything that happened these past week..."
"Now that's where I'll stop you Vic. My family and I are perfectly fine and those rumors you hear about are just some rumors because my neice and daughter are both famous people." Kate declared.
"People like you should always learn to mind their business. It'll do you good Vic, it'll do you good big time." Kate added, her pride evident.
"I'm sorry if I offended you Kate. Please do your business, I'll wait for you to be done." Vic said. She had only asked the question out of concern, who knew that topic was a bit sensitive to Kate? It seems she doesn't play about being broke and Victoria wondered why.
