Her attitude has attracted the eyes of everyone and she knew she had to do something about this to save face before this people. She couldn't possibly let herself be embarrassed like this. Not this way, she couldn't afford anymore nagative news.
This was beyond embarrassing, how dare this people treat her this way? She has done nothing except come here to be good. She's isn't one of the regular customer in here. She's Nari Sui, a big time celebrity, one of the few celebrities that actually come here to shop.
"I'm a steady customer in here Mr Ma, I cannot believe you would embarrass me this way." Nari crossed her hands around her chest . She was so angry, but she needed to keep her head in touch. She cannot lose character before the people in here.
Everyone knows the reason celebrity come here was for publicity stunt. This mall is one of the largest mall in the country, there's no way you wouldn't find your audience in here. It was a win win situation for both the mall and the celebrity.
Nari acting like she's the one that has elevated one of the biggest mall in the country was quite comical. She was playing the victim again before all of these people, over an issue they could resolve quietly.
"We're sorry if we offended you in anyway ma'am. Please come with me let us review the issue with your card so that we can all have a nice day." Manager Ma said politely. This is the issue he has with most celebrities. They come here and act like they're some God.
"My card cannot have issues, there's something wrong with your system." Nari barked.
"Listen Ma, I'm not someone you would want to play with like this." Her true nature was slowly slipping out and her manager was scared of her next move. The man quickly moved close to her.
"Uhm, miss Nari, I think we..." His words was cut short when she glared at him.
"You're a lair, who paid you to humiliate me today, how much did they pay you, I'll gladly double it." Nari yelled at him. She knew someone was sabotaging her in here. Anna might be here laughing from a corner. Her frown deepened at her thoughts, she would find her and humiliate her back again.
"Please come this way ma'am, we'll verify the issue as soon as possible." The people in the mall started to murmur amongst each other. Flashes of cameras were everywhere as everyone wanted to capture a moment of Nari Sui in a huge scandal. It's not everyday people get to witness celebrities in trouble, everyone wanted to be the first to post an update.
Some people already started live videos where they tried to explain what they knew, others just kept posting. All of the negative content Nari had been avoiding had come back to her, and it was hitting harder than Anna's this morning.
For Anna, everything that happened online were mere speculations and it was debunked without her lifting a finger. But Nari's scandal seemed quite real, especially since she's the one talking.
"There's no need causing a fuzz miss Sui. Why not follow the manager and check your card." A woman from the crowd of people said. She's the same woman that had said mean things to her earlier. One would think she's the karma just waiting at the door to strike.
Nari tried her best to avoid her. She knows what people like that are looking for and would never stoop to her level.
"Unless she had come here to insult us and now she doesn't have the money to pay for anything." Another said loud enough for Nari and everyone to hear and murmurs began among everyone.
"Celebrities and their fake lifestyles." Another laughed.
"How embarrassing." People started talking. This is not good. This is not good for her brand. Nari panicked. She had wanted to play the sympathy side,but this is beyond it.
"Is she that broke, I thought she's a Sui?" Another woman asked.
"But didn't you see the news earlier, they say the Sui's have gone bankrupt for the third time in one year." Nari tried to ignore the gossip she was hearing and started walking towards the managers office. She would give him a piece of her mind when there are no one around.
But what did she hear? There's no way her family could go bankrupt again. The general was no longer around and all of the money in their accounts was being managed by her mother. They had more than enough to sustain their lavish lifestyle for generations to come.
They can't lose everything. It's humanly impossible. "Once everything is settled, this would be the last time I would be at your mall. You all behave so unruly and are so uncouth." Nari spat more venom as she walked with the man.
"We're so sorry ma'am. I promise to give discount for the inconveniences if it is truly our fault." The manager said politely, but his words only angered the proud girl beside him. Before now, everyone saw Nari as a weak girl that was being bullied and needed help, but after today, he didn't know what to believe anymore.
"Keep your money I don't need it. Peasants like you should save enough money for the little lifestyle you have." Nari rolled her eyes. There was no camera around anymore so she was free to express herself however she wanted.
When they arrived at the managers office, Nari took the machine from the cashier immediately. Her manager passed her her card and she was about to swipe through but she paused. "When this card works this time. For the embarrassment and humiliation you have caused today, I would need a public apology and my name to be cleared." Nari stated.
"That will be done ma'am." Manager Ma agreed immediately.
Nari swiped the card with pride but it declined immediately. She paused. Staring at the sales rep and everyone in the managers office. The card hadn't only declined, it had read insufficient fund. This is what her manager was trying to tell her but she had shut the man before he had a chance of speaking.
To save them the shame and embarrassment, they would have quietly apologized to the manager and cover up their tracks before anyone else finds out. But right now, almost everyone in Summerlane where aware of the commotion in the mall.
People had already started asking questions as related to the chaos earlier. They made fun of Nari being broke and the Sui's being bankrupt was not helping at all as everyone mocked her.
"This must be a joke." Nari said and swiped the card again, but it said the same thing.
