Chapter 357 CONVICTION 2

It wasn't Anna's fault, if Beth hadn't been too conniving with thet stupid Cara girl, she would never have gotten herself into trouble with her brother.

"Is that so?" Rose asked in surrender. "Well, you even trust the girl so blindly, so it means she has bewitched you too." Evelyn sighed at her friends remarks.

"Did you come here to insult my daughter in law to me today?" Evelyn asked.

"Anna did the same to us. She lied and accused the Shens of killing her child. Your grandchild." Rose said and Evelyn frowned. That topic was a sensitive topic she didn't want to revisit.

"And is that what the Shens told you?" Evelyn asked. "Now who's the one being bewitched?" She added. It was just too early for her to be arguing with someone about her daughter in law. The same Anna she knows to be a good and lovely girl.

"It would shock you to know Anna confessed to it hers..."

"That's enough Rose, I will not have you badmouth my daughter in law that way. If that's what you came here for, then you should leave, you're not needed here." Evelyn scolded her friend. She didn't appreciate the talk about Anna being a bad person. It was only yesterday Noah had asked her questions about discussing his wife with others and she recalled the only person she had confided in was Roseline. To think she was a friend and could keep secrets.

Roseline has told almost half the city about her family and now, they are the subject of discussion.

"I'm so sorry Evelyn if my words offend you. I was only looking out for you." Rose said. She was irritated that she couldn't convince Evelyn enough. Anna seems to have a strong hold on every member of the Declan family. Is there no one who doesn't love the girl?

Why do all these people love her the way they did when her own family hate her?

The Shen's and Kate, are they lying to them?

"You told everyone about my daughter in law being barren. How can I forgive you. You're meant to be a friend that have my back, not one that would go behind to play tricks on me." Evelyn brought up the subject, she wasn't happy when Noah told her about it.

The last thing she wanted from her son was him losing his trust in her. Anna's case was supposed to be a secret, their family secret that almost everyone in Summerlane is aware of now. She has wronged both Anna and Noah. She has betrayed her family.

"Evelyn..."

"I told you that because I thought I could trust you Rose. You have broken my trust and above that try to cause division in my family." Evelyn said.

"It wasn't my intention Evelyn, I was only..."

"Save your excuses Rose. Anna might have admitted to harming her child, but that's because she cannot recall everything that happened. The Shens had killed my grandchild and you went ahead to become a part of them, you have no right to judge my family." Evelyn said. Someone trying to tarnish har family is the last thing she would take from anyone.

"Evelyn..."

"Please leave Rose. Leave before I change my mind about you." Rose got up from where she sat immediately.

"I hope you forgive me Evelyn. It wasn't my intention to hurt you. I just want you to see Anna for what she truly is and that Noah's marriage to her would cause more problems in the future." Rose said.

"I said leave."

"You should check the internet and everything going on today. Maybe you'll understand why you shouldn't keep her around." At her words, Rose started walking away. Once she reached the lounge, she saw a familiar figure walking through the stairs.

It was Beth. And it would be the first time she's having breakfast with her family again. She had no idea she would bump into her aunt at this hour of the day. She wondered what the woman was doing here today.

"Beth dear." Roseline called the girl. Though she looked normal, it's almost as if she hadn't gone through all of the tortures Evelyn had explained to her.

"Aunt Rose." Beth greeted.

"How are you doing. I heard what happened between you and Noah. Are you fine now?" Rose asked with a smile.

"What happened between us?" Beth asked back, staring at the woman. She couldn't believe her mother would tell anyone about it. It was supposed to be a secret.

"There's no need to pretend Beth. It's alright, I know about it already." Beth frowned. No one should know about the embarrassing thing Noah had put her through. She's the heiress of the Declan's family and she doesn't deserve to be embarrassed the way she did.

"I don't know what you're talking about Aunty. If you'd excuse me." Beth hurried back to her room. She couldn't take the shame of people already knowing about it. No one deserves to know, she should be the oy one aware of it.

She would never come out of the mansion anymore. Beth couldn't even begin to imagine the number of people that knew already. They would mock her, she had become a laughing stock before the eyes of everyone. Beth bit her lips.

"What's with everyone today?" Rose murmured as she stepped out of the mansion. By the time she got to her car, the news of Anna was all over the net. She smiled and started following the news. At least this would open Evelyn's eyes a little to see the girl she sees Anna as. The woman might not change her mind right away, but with a little more persuasion, she is sure to fall.

Rose started sending a few messages to Evelyn. She would do anything to remove Anna from the Declan family.

After Evelyn was sure Roseline had left the mansion, she picked her cell phone and texted Noah. "Send my daughter in law over. We need to start the preparation for Beth's birthday party. And what about my grandchild, have you settled for scan?"
