"How shameless and so uncouth. What would the Declan's think about us now?" Another woman who sat beside Kate asked as she pat her dear friend on the back. The little favours they gain from Kate has made them blinded to the truth.
They couldn't begin to fathom the fact that Anna had caught such a big fish like Noah. She was married and related to the Declan's like it was nothing. They should be the one related to the biggest family in the country, not her.
"I really don't know what you all are talking about, but Noah and I are perfectly fine." One of the women clicked her tongue multiple times, as if to pity the girl.
"Such a big liar." The woman said.
"I might be anything but never a fool Anna. You're useless just Incase you have forgotten . You can't have children like other girls your age, yet you choose to cheat on the one man who truly loves you." Anna frowned. Bringing up the news of her childlessness to any and everyone was just so bad.
When will they stop? Is it when the world finally knows of her infidelity?
"Of course, announce me to your gullible friends to make a point. Mock my pain like you always do for your satisfaction. I've never spoken about your unmarried status and childlessness either Aunt Kate. Don't you think we're in the same shoes now?" Kate held her chest at her neice's words, the other women around gasping and giving remarks at her words.
Kate isn't the only one who knows how to hurt someone. She knew too. She didn't understand why her aunt would try to insult and ridicule her everytime when her situation is worse.
"I wasted my youthful days taking good care of you everyday. Making sure you have the best life and this is how you repay me?" Kate asked, her blood boiling. If she hadn't invited this women over by now, she sure would have killed Anna by now.
How dare she insult her like this?
"You can cook, but can't take the heat?" Anna smiled.
"You heard speculations online about me and you didn't bother to confirm it before you throw stones at me."
"Speculations." Kate rose from where she sat. She's always had one big problem in life and that's Anna Sui. Her neice is her biggest problem, and it's so annoying that everytime she tries to kill her or put an end to it, something just saves her.
"Your mother in law exposed your infidelity last night to me and told me how much Noah hates you now and how he has dumped you." Kate started and Anna laughed. Her aunt was really a dummy. She caused a lot of trouble to come up with unreasonable lies like this?
"Your foolish act has brought shame to our family Anna. Why did you have an affair with the prince?" Kate asked.
"Is that why you accepted their dowry without informing me aunt Kate?" Anna asked, dropping the act finally.
"Did you confirm from me if I was divorced before showing off your greediness, or you couldn't wait to show his much you hate me."
"How can you say such words Anna. My mother doesn't hate you, she's only looking out for you and our family name. Stop being such an ungrateful bitch for once in your life." The women there nodded at Nari's words. It's clear who's side they were already on.
"Return the dowry aunt Kate, you can't go ahead collecting dowries because of speculations online." Anna turned to her aunt, but the look on the woman's cold face somehow made her shiver.
The person standing before her doesn't look like her aunt anymore. Her true nature was finally coming out. It's only a matter of time before she breaks completely.
"You walk into my home to insult me before all of these women today Anna." Kate started.
"Heaven knows I've tried my best for you. Your late parents knows all I've ever wished for you is happiness and nothing more. But time and time again you keep hurting me."
"Now is not the time to play victim Kate. Return the dowry you collected, I'm not getting married to any royalty."
"Enough of the lies and pretenses Anna. It's okay if you're trying to save face before everyone here. We already know the Declan's have already cut ties with you and we know, mother had done you a huge favour by giving out to an eligible man like the prince." Nari said. She's never liked Damien anyway. Even if he's a prince, he wasn't pleasing to the eyes, so Anna can have him while she goes for Noah.
That's the lies Nari keep telling herself, when in truth, she got rejected by the prince and royal family. They had stated that they wanted Anna and nobody else.
"The Declan's are my family, why will they cut ties when..."
"Enough." Kate threw the news outlet in her hands to her neice. Anna picked the scattered papers and started reading through the news. This is everything her aunt and Nari had planned today. It is the news they have both pushed out. Baseless accusations and speculations.
Anna could already feel what his much chaos will be on the net now about her and how fast people would believe all of these rumors because she has kept her love life private for a while. When you hide things from people, it makes them curious to know what it is you're hiding and would make them so invested in your life.
It's part of her marketing strategy, but it seems it was now working against her rather than for her.
Anna was about to speak when her phone rang. It was Lola calling finally. Lola never call if the situation has not gotten out of control.
"The news is all over the internet too, not just little papers." Nari said with a smile. "You're screwed Anna." She added. She has been waiting for this moment for a long time. Another fall of Anna Sui. This would be her biggest fall.
The world was slut shaming her. Everyone insulted her even without finding out the truth. Maybe if she hadn't showed people her boyfriend at the diamond award, things wouldn't go this far.
"We can help you out of these Anna." Nari moved close to the girl. "The only way out is to let Mack go."
