She just got a call from the Shen's about their daughter's marriage and she had lend a helping hands. She has been helping them since Noah destroyed them. The Sui's has joined forced with the Shen's, but how long could they keep them afloat. It seems like everything they were doing was not working. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't break free from the hands for Noah Declan and they had no idea why.
He wouldn't just let his wife's case go.
This morning, Kate received a call from the Shen's that the video tape pertaining who had tried to kill Anna was being shipped to on of the Sui's mansion in a rural area. They had found out that Noah was coming after them, so they created a distraction with one man while the real man delivering the video tape had escaped.
As long as she's alive, she would never let Noah find out who had done that to his wife. But she couldn't destroy the video either, she wanted to keep it for her own selfish reasons.
"Mother." Nari called as she approached her. "Can't we inform the police about Mack's disappearance?" She said next to her, picking the freshly baked ginger bread as she placed it into her mouth.
"And what will we tell them?" Kate asked, her eyes not leaving the newspaper in her hands. "That Mack has b..."
"They can't find him Nari dear. You'll only bring unnecessary attention to yourself and to the family. We don't need that, especially since your grandfather will be returning today."
"He's normal now?" Nari asked to see her mother shake her head.
"He's an imbecile. He can't talk, he can't walk, he's as useless as a baby." She sighed.
"So why are we bringing him here then. Why don't we leave him with Anna and her husband?" Nari asked. She will never be out under the pressure of taking care of that old stupid man that never like her. Why didn't he just die?
"To save face Nari. We're already attacking Anna for doing that to him, we cannot let her take care of him." Nari nodded in understanding. Besides they had more than enough maids to take care of the General in here, so it wasn't her business.
"We'll be hosting a welcoming party for your grandfather, I have invited a few close friends and some family members." Kate said. "It's quite unfortunate you had announced your marriage to the public and now your husband wouldn't be here to witness this party. People will ask." Kate hinted and Nari frowned.
She had hired the best investigators in Summerlane, but non were able to locate Mack's whereabouts. Nari hopes he is okay. It was her doing to marry him, thinking of how everything played out, she realized she has made the greatest mistake of her life.
She lost the diamond crown to Anna, she lost a lot of brand deals because of the negative press about her. And almost got dropped by her entertainment company. The only reason they were letting her stay is because they are about to resign Anna again. Every entertainment company wants Anna Sui and they would do everything to have her.
As Kate sat there, she quickly remembered something and said, "The Queen from Crownsville called last night." Her words made Nari curious and then she remembered the article she had seen. She frowned. It must be to ask for Anna's hands in marriage as the prince seemed interested in her.
"What for?" Nari asked.
"For Anna's hands in marriage." Kate spat disdainfully. It should have been Nari who would have gotten the attention of the prince. Nari is beautiful and talented as well, but Anna stands out and carries herself with a certain grace, others didn't have. She is unique and so beautiful. That is why women tend to be more jealous of her, than men.
"What did you tell them?" Nari asked. There's no way Kate must have agreed to it, it's not possible. Anna cannot always have good things to herself.
"I told them she's married already, but that I have a daughter who's single and ready for marriage. I sent a picture of you to the queen." Nari blushed.
"You didn't have to do that Mother, what will Mack say?" Kate glared at her innocent child.
"You still speak of that stupid boy like he's anything. What spell did that boy cast one you?" Kate asked frowning at this. But she didn't know Nari is the last person that wants to be with Mack, especially since he's now useless. She would marry the prince should the opportunity arise and dump Mack back in the slums. But she had to still pretend to be as innocent as always.
"Mother." Nari called, her brown eyes glowing.
"Well, it's a good thing the queen granted your wish. She rejected you." Kate didn't add the immediately part. She didn't even get to send Nari's picture to the woman to get rejected. The woman made it clear she wanted only Anna and Anna alone. She didn't care how much Anna's dowry would cost.
Now Kate thought of it, she never heard of Noah paying Anna's dowry, maybe accepting the queen's proposal wouldn't be a bad idea. She had heard from a few people that the prince isn't even close to Noah Declan. Maybe if Anna is taken, Noah can finally look at her Nari.
Nari forced a smile as she stared at her mother. She couldn't let the woman know she would marry the prince if there ever comes a chance. This only made her more angry with Anna. Maybe if she didn't exist, everything would have been hers. But what Nari failed to understand was, if Anna didn't exist, she wouldn't be a model either.
