Chapter 223 APOLOGY

"Did you see what that neice of yours has caused Kate?" Martha yelled furiously at her niece. She only heard Noah Declan was Anna's boss; she had no idea her niece was in fact married to the man. How did she not know about this? Was this why her brother had called her that day angry, or was it something else?

Gabriel had only complained about his daughter and granddaughter. He wanted to say more, but their call was cut off. Who knew the next time she would see him again, he would be in the hospital fighting for his life?

The only heir of the Declan's empire was after her and her family, and there's nothing they could do about it. No one dared harm a Declan; should she have known, she wouldn't have treated her niece the way she did.

"Calm down, Aunty, and tell me what happened." Kate said, guiding the woman to sit on the sofa. "Bean, get Aunt Martha tea." Bean bowed and started walking away.

Kate didn't kill him as he thought; she rather demoted him to a mere serving boy. It meant even the maids were higher than him. It's a good thing he had been good with everyone; otherwise, he would have been punished by even the maids.

He walked into the kitchen and started making the tea.

"What happened, Aunt Martha?" Kate asked as she sat on the next sofa.

"Didn't you see the news?" Martha asked, shocked at her neice, and at the same time, her husband Douglas walked in.

Douglas Mongrel, the useless son of the Mongrel's family. Martha had been so desperate to get married back then because she had passed her flower season so she decided to marry him. She didn't care if he was useless on not, being a Mongrel was enough for her.

After all, the Mongrels were a prestigious family too. Being a Mongrel was a big deal back then; though there were the Declan's, the Wilson's, and the Fredrick's, the Mongrel's still stood out. They were the richest family.

But as the years passed by, the Declan's became the biggest family due to Vincent's business decisions. Several decisions skyrocketed their family to the top, and they have not come down since then. They control the city and everything in it.

For someone who took Marraige as a big deal, Martha hadn't expected her niece's to remain single for this long. Their lack of family is making them do stupid things when they could both be taking care of their own children and family by now rather than trying to control their father and niece.

"No." Kate shook her head. The only news topic she followed was that of Nari, and nothing else.

"My family is in big trouble because of your neice." Douglas said, walking in to sit beside his wife. She's the only smart person in his life. The one in charge of his money and inheritance.

"What happened?" Kate asked with wide eyes. How did she not ever see this? Who even told Noah, Martha had been the one to hurt Anna? Is that why the hospital was strangely shut down and they moved her father to another? That explains everything.

But Fletcher has told her they were reconstructing the place; did he lie to her?

She had even offered to assist with money, but he declined immediately. So that's why he hadn't accepted her money, because Noah Declan has been the one to close down the place.

Kate knew the only reason Noah hasn't touched her yet, no matter what she did, was because she's his wife's family. But why did he touch the mongrel's?

"Noah Declan has demanded a public apology from the family before he finishes us finally." Douglas said, his face down as he spoke. Kate, on the other hand, frowned at his words.

"He would do no such thing. That man is nothing for you all to be scared of." She clicked her tongue.

"Did you see what he did with the Yong's?" Martha asked. Everyone in the higher ranks knows Noah Declan has destroyed that family in less than twenty-four hours. He had reduced a multibillion-dollar family to nothing and threatened anyone who dares try to help them. He made their only heir a serving boy, and his parents are now useless citizens.

What manner of man is he?

Even with this power, not everyone knows what he looks like. He shows his face to few, and a few rarely know who he is. He could be among them, and they wouldn't know. Just how did her grandniece find that kind of person?

"The Yong's are nobodies in society; their fall was expected." Kate rolled her eyes. Everyone knew Mack Yong knew nothing about business, and his bad business decisions were what fell on their empire.

It was a way for Noah to deceive him and steal everything they had. What irked her the most was that he had shared the $4 billion networth with charity, accusing the Yong's of fraud and making the cops seize everything they ever owned.

Kate had recalled Mack Yong's pride when their net worth increased and became double theirs. She hated his guts, and now he isn't just a serving boy for Noah but for her too.

"But they were worth more than the Sui's." Douglas said to earn a glare from Kate. She hated to admit it, but it is true. They were bigger than them.

"We are going to apologize to Anna so that man can leave us alone; that's the reason I am here in the first place. To inform you about that." Kate laughed out loud at her aunt's words. She was genuinely amused. "Apologize to Anna? Seriously? That's the plan?" Kate shook her head in disbelief.

"Auntie, you know Noah isn't going to just let this go with a simple apology, right?" She asked with the brightest smile. The Mongrels were actually in deep trouble with Noah.

He would never find their apology worthy enough for his wife. Nothing they do now will please that man until he humiliates them back.

And how would he do that?
