Chapter 207 RELATIVES 1

1034words
"Who is she?" The woman who just stepped in with her family asked as she stared at Kate and the girl who just greeted her. She has heard rumors about Kate adopting a daughter but she didn't believe it because she thought it was one of the many fake news and lies spread by various publication to destroy her grandnieces reputation.

"My daughter Nari." Martha ignored the crying girl and went on to speak to her neice. Martha is the generals younger sibling and only sister. When Bean called her, she had arrived immediately with her husband and son.

Kate gritted her teeth as she listened to her relatives speak about her daughter that way. This is why she wanted to host a welcoming ball for Nari so that the world would know she was her daughter and they would respect her as well, but her stupid father had refused. Just like he has refused every other thing since she adopted Nari.

She didn't have the time to sit and listen to whatever her aunt and family had to say. She wanted to see her father and execute her plans before things get out of hand.

It would be a disaster if he wakes up to remember she had been the one to strike her with that box. He would definitely lock her up in prison. Noah had done it before, causing her to spend a full night in there, she didn't want that like anymore.

She wouldn't be this anxious if everything has gone the way she planned. If no one in this mansion had ctlled Noah or anyone like she instructed. Kate was furious.

She needed to know the fool that has dared betray her in her own house. But that would be after she's done with her father.

It was all an accident, an accident that could have been avoided. But she had been too angry with her father. "I was just about to go to the hospital to visit father before you came." Kate said hoping they would let her leave.

"Then we will go with you?" Her aunt's husband's words almost had her rolling her eyes, but she controlled herself. She would look suspicious if she does something stupid. She needed to be patient.

"Of course, father would be very happy you're there with him." She said gloomily as she wiped imaginary tears from her face. "That's enough dear, everything happens for a reason."

"But does it have to be like this?" She asked being so dramatic about it even if she felt no pity. "He had to get injured the moment I need him the most. The moment he's still bonding with his new granddaughter." She pointed at Nari who was also in her acting bag too. Nari wiped her tears with her kerchief. At this moment she looked so innocent and pitiful, melting the heart of the people around her.

That is one of the charm she had. While Anna had a normal face, Nari had a pitiful face. A face that can turn nations against each other with just a single tear from her. She looked so harmless and is often mistaken for her looks.

Nari didn't really care about the general. All she needed was hus money and protection from Noah Declan, but now she knew Kate could have all those, he was useless. She knew that evil man Noah, is waiting for the day they finally disown her to punish her the way he wanted. But she would make him fall in love with her before he gets the chance to lay his hands on her ever again.

She would steal everything Anna owns, including her precious life.

She had been happy when she heard her foster mother Kate had an argument with he general which unfortunately had turned into something dangerous.

"That's okay dear, things happen for a reason. But let's hope and pray he survives this." Martha said.

"Your aunt is right. We need to be strong for your father Kate. He needs our strength now more than ever." Kate nodded wiping the tiny tears that managed to find it's way out after all her attempts to cry. She really needs to learn crying, especially since she's going to be crying a lot very soon.

Martha looked around the mansion for Anna and Grace who she has not seen till this moment. "Where is Grace and Anna?" She asked her neice to see Kate cry even more.

"What is wrong?" Douglas asked walking close to his wife's neice.

"I don't want to talk about those two. They're the reason father fell anyway." Kate said with a deep frown. Nari who sat across from her mother turned impressed.

"What are you talking about Kate?" Martha asked a frown appearing on her already wrinkled face. She didn't like what she was hearing. Her brother had complained about Anna the few times she called him telling her how stubborn and worrisome her grandniece was to him. She didn't know she would contribute to his death.

"Since they left the mansion father's illness had increased so badly and everyday he's barely trying to survive. He had been so sad until Nari arrived. She has been the only happiness he has." Kate said to hear her aunt clock her tongue.

"Anna should hope nothing happens to my brother, else she will pay with her life. What a useless girl." Martha spat. She always knew that girl would be as troublesome as her mother. If that crazy mad woman hadn't force her nephew on that trip, he would have been alive today.

Bean who had been in the lounge when Kate spoke frowned. Anna was not even in the mansion when everything happened so why are they blaming her for everything?

He regrets not telling Noah that Kate had been the one to kill her father. It's not surprising how she's trying to blame everything on Anna. It's always easy to twist a story and blame another person.

"We should leave now to know how he is." Douglas suggested.

"He's right. Come Nari, let's go." Martha held Nari's hands as they all started walking out of the mansion.
