Chapter 196 SHE'S REGAINING HER MEMORY

1003words
When Noah reached the halls, he started walking away quickly, locking the room his wife was in and placing the keys in his pocket. He arrived at the hall where his family had invited him for breakfast.

Not only were the Sui's on the table, the Shen's were also present. Shen, his second wife and Janie were all on the table dining with their new family, the Declan's. Evelyn Declan has been so generous to invite them over even if they are way out of her league.

Shen knew they were invited because Janie is to be married to Chalamet soon. Even if Noah had locked their accounts and disrespected them by locking them up in the prison cell for a crime they never committed, Chalamet was still going to marry Janie anyway.

He was in love with her and nothing could change that. He was only just upset that his cousin had disrespected his son to be wife and her family.

Janjan's grip on her tea cup tightened the moment she saw Noah step in. She was nervous. She had been this way since Anna's accident. The state she saw her friend in was traumatizing. No one knew Anna would survive it.

It was her fault, she has blamed herself everyday since the accident and not one day has passed when she hadn't thought of her best friend. It was even more hurting that her friend had been pregnant and had lost her child in the process. Janjan could feel every pain Anna went through because she is pregnant now. She was already a month gone.

She had no friend to share the good news with.

Anna is the only genuine friend she has ever had. Two broken souls finding each other. A fan turned best friend because of their relatable life style.

She had found out who hurt her friend but was still contemplating whether to tell the truth or not. If the news ever get out, her family would be destroyed forever. Her parent's knew, that's why they have refused to say anything.

She thought she could at least see her friend this morning before she left but Anna hadn't come with Noah.

She had seen Anna last night and wanted to talk to her but her step mother had kept her close, watching like a hawk at the people she spoke to and hung out with. Her family had forbidden her from speaking to Anna ever again, blocking all of Anna's contacts from her phone.

The day she texted Anna, she had gotten her number from Chalamet. Even if the man had issue with Noah and his wife for treating his woman and her family like trash, he didn't stop his fiance from talking to her friend.

Chalamet had serious issue with Noah, but as always, Noah didn't care. He would infact arrest his cousin if he ever was involved in whatever happened to his wife and nothing or no one would stop him. He could deal with his family too if they ever lay hands on that woman, that's how much he cares about her.

That is why Beth have been more than careful when dealing with Anna. Noah would ruin her life if he ever found out she had been among the people who drugged Anna.

The drink Anna drank didn't contain one type of drugs. It contained two different types. It's a miracle how Anna could still control herself and didn't just start fucking a random stranger.

"Noah." Evelyn greeted with a bright smile as she saw her son who hugged her from behind to place a kiss on her cheek. "Where is Anna?" Evelyn asked as she hadn't seen her daughter in law since last night. She had found Anna's attitude rather strange, but then again, the poor girl was not herself yet. She had lost the most important parts of her life so Evelyn understood.

"She is not feeling too well." Noah sat down on the available seat next to Grace. Cara who had been sitting next to Beth until now rolled her eyes as she stared at the woman. She felt jealous of her immediately.

"Good morning." He greeted her and she smiled.

"Good morning." Grace said slowly her lips curving into a soft smile. Grace was so focused on Noah that she hadn't seen the familiar eyes that glared down at her.

"How was your night?" He asked calmly.

"Perfect." She responded.

"Is everything okay with Anna?" Evelyn asked her son worriedly. That past few weeks have been hell, especially with Noah cutting them off from everything that happened. They had been so worried that they stopped everything about their lives till Anna recovered.

"She'll be fine." Kate quickly said waving her hands. "Anna has a thing for early morning sickness. Most times she fakes it and other times it's real." Kate laughed. "My neice is just too clumsy isn't she?" She smiled at Noah who didn't smile back at her.

It was her nature to pick strangers over her neice so Grace wasn't surprised at all. She had done the same with Mack and also with Nari. Siding the enemies over her neice.

Right now, she understood the game her sister was playing. Making her neice look bad before the Declan's, but what Grace didn't understand was her intentions for it. Was she that angry at the Declan's that she would do anything to separate Anna from Noah?

If she hated them so much why did she even attend the event in the first place?

"She's not." Came Noah's words as he stared at her. Noah knew Kate's pick me attitude all too well and didn't want to engage in a conversation with her, but he couldn't just sit and let her say things about his wife. Things she isn't guilty of.

He would not let anyone spread lies and misinformation about his wife.

"Anna was drugged at the party last night." Kate, Nari, Beth and Cara stiffened at Noah's words.
