Chapter 187 DEADLY DEED 4

1030words
Noah stood at the entrance of the grand mansion, his presence as imposing as ever. He watched silently as the paramedics loaded General Gabriel onto a stretcher, their movements efficient and hurried.

When Fletcher, his doctor had met him, Gabriel was barely breathing. They had wasted so much time before calling an ambulance. The old man wasn't just bleeding out, he was bleeding internally too.

He took a slow drag from his cigarette, the end glowing a fiery orange in the dim light. The smoke curled lazily around his face, blending with the cool evening air. His expression was unreadable, as calm as always.

The doctor approached Noah. Standing beside Noah, he glanced at the injured general being whisked away. "He has lost so much blood. Let's hope he makes it through the night," he began, his eyes following the paramedics who placed him in the ambulance.

Noah's eyes narrowed slightly, but he said nothing, exhaling a plume of smoke that drifted upward.

"I would say you call the family and arrange for the inevitable," the doctor continued. There was no telling that the general would make it through the night, who knows, he might be dead by morning.

"I saw a heavy crack on his head. It looks like he was hit by something hard and it has damaged a few part of his brain. Someone had tried to kill him and I must say the person's aim is really good." Fletcher said. There was no broken bones or fractured bones like that of Anna who actually fell from the stairs. It was just that bold crack at the back of his head.

Whatever they must have used on him was really heavy.

"If he makes it out alive what would be his fate?" Noah asked finally meeting Fletcher's gaze.

"If he does which I doubt he would, he would be paralyzed for the rest of his life. And maybe lose a few memories. That is if he doesn't die." Fletcher shrugged. "I would even suggest we kill him because he might no longer be able to speak fluently again." Noah nodded in understanding.

"Then he'll survive." Noah said briefly taking another long drag from his cigarette, the ash growing longer.

"I'm a doctor with 15 years experience Mr Declan, I've never seen anyone survive such hit before."

"That old man is stubborn. There's a lot he still has to do, he won't die." Noah knows for a fact his grandfather would be devastated if he hears about this. Both men may hate each other to the last, but he knows deep down they want to be close so badly. They want to forgive each other, but one person's pride is greater than the last.

"I will handle the rest, by finding out who did this to him." he finally said, his voice low and steady. He flicked the cigarette away, watching as it landed and smoldered on the pavement.

"We're done doctor." One of the paramedics approached him and Fletcher nodded. "Are you coming?" He asked Noah who shook his head.

"There are things I still have to do." Noah waved his hands.

"Alright, see you later then." Fletcher walked away. The ambulance started it's emergency sound as they whisked the general away. He was already on life support, the only thing they could do now is hope and pray.

Bean watched them take the general away from the window. He sighed. The man was already dead when Noah and the doctor arrived. According to the doctor, only his heart was beating weakly as he had stopped breathing completely.

He didn't know why his madam would try to hurt her father. From what he heard from her personal maids, they were in a heated argument about money and Kate didn't take his decision likely and decided to kill him. Bean understand, she did it to be in charge of everything.

Bean sighed. He left the man for a few seconds the drop the documents he has asked for in his room, only to be greeted by the deadly scene. The box of jewel Kate has used, has been cleaned like it was never used to kill anyone.

He has asked all of the maids to remain silent and not say a thing to Noah Declan even if they are being arrested and tortured.

"Bean." Noah called and the butler walked up to his boss with a deep bow.

"Is there any camera on this mansion, any hidden one?" Noah asked to see the butler shake his head. He had no idea if there was, but all of his months of working here, he has never seen a camera room of seen any camera around the mansion.

Noah clicked his tongue. "Alright." He smiled and started walking away. Bean followed closely behind him, "Take me to the General's study room." Noah demanded.

"It is this way sir." Bean led the way till they were reached the General's study room.

"Aren't you going to question everyone?" Bean asked Noah. He had no idea what this man was planning, and he was scared. Noah is a very funny man, if he wasn't he wouldn't be in the position where he is right now.

It wasn't only his family's wealth that turned him to a man he is, it is his nature. His attitude made him who he is.

"It's obvious everyone is trying to protect the person, why would I waste my precious time asking." Noah sat on the generals table and started going through the documents. He was looking for something, something he knows the general wouldn't be stupid enough to keep in his office at work.

"The general would be mad you're in here boss." Bean said calmly.

"The general is a dead man, he would be so happy I'm doing him a favour of doing the right thing." Noah kept the first document he found by the side as he searched for the next.

When he found what he was looking for, he stacked them together and handed it over to Bean. "If anyone asks, I was here and I took them." Noah said. "Come with me Bean."
