Where are we sugar?" Anna asked as she followed Noah's lead to wherever he was taking her. He had told her it was a surprise but she had no idea what surprise it was. Her insides danced with joy at the surprise he was about to show her.
Noah whispered to next to her ear, "I wanted tonight to be special for you, my sweet girl. Just us, surrounded by the beauty of nature." He removed the blindfold slowly and her lips suddenly formed the sweetest smile anyone could imagine.
Anna's eyes shone with gratitude. "It's perfect, Noah. I've always dreamed of seeing the cherry blossoms like this." She said staring at the beautiful blossoms.
"I'm glad you like it. This used to be my favorite spot growing up. When I just want to hide away from my family mess and issues. Most days I fall asleep just on that bench over there and other times, I'm just moving around." Anna listened with rapt attention, her heart swelling with love for the man beside her.
No imagination was enough for what Noah looked like as a child. From the few stories he had told her, she could tell he was a cold and distant child. Did he not get as much love growing up?
His family must be truly messed up. But the people she had met during Evelyn's birthday party are totally different people. They loved Noah even if he acted indifferent towards them.
They strolled hand in hand, their footsteps muffled by the soft carpet of fallen petals.
"You know," Noah said softly, "Even if I used to come here almost everyday as a child, it's never been as beautiful as it is tonight."
"Why?" Anna asked meeting his grey eyes as they stopped walking.
"Maybe because a special beautiful woman is by my side tonight." He shrugged to see her blush. He loves when her skin get decorated with colours only him can forge out of her. She was shy, and it was cute.
Anna leaned into him, feeling the warmth of his embrace. "I'm so grateful to be here with you, Noah. This is like a fairytale." He smiled. His wife and day dreaming. How could he forget she was a dreamer, always imagining unrealistic things.
Noah chuckled, his voice low and intimate. "Well, you're my world, sweet girl. And tonight, I wanted to make all your dreams come true."
They found a secluded spot beneath a particularly magnificent cherry tree and sat down together, surrounded by a carpet of pink and white petals. Noah reached out to brush a stray blossom from Anna's hair, his touch sending shivers down her spine.
"You're so beautiful, my sweet girl," he murmured, his eyes locked on hers. "More beautiful than all the cherry blossoms in the world." Anna blushed, her heart fluttering at his words. At this point, she could faint from his too much affection but she loved it.
Noah didn't even need to do much to make her forget about everything that had happened. "I love you." Came her soft words and he smiled.
"I know." He said proudly. He pulled her closer, his lips became one with hers as he kissed her passionately. They were the only ones here so he didn't care if anyone would see them. He wanted a little quiet time with his sweet girl, just a little space outside the arising storm in her life.
A lot might happen, but Anna still knows she has Noah by her side. He's the one person Nari can never take away from her. "I love you too my sweet girl." He said as he pulled his lips away.
They stayed there for hours, lost in each other's eyes, as the sky darkened and the stars began to twinkle overhead. Noah held Anna close as they both stared at the falling leaves of the cherry blossoms.
"My aunt called earlier." Anna said as she turned to look at him.
"Whatever about?"
"She said she wants Nari back into the limelight and that I should send an invitation card for the family." Anna said.
"What will you do? Noah asked patiently waiting for an answer. For once he wanted her to be free from her family, but he needed her to do that alone. Those people are users, it's almost as if they're not her real family with how they act.
He would need to look into that too.
"I texted Lola and asked her to send four invitations to my family house." She said softly to see her hubby nod. She had thought he would be mad at her decision but he seemed to understand. "You know what you want." Noah said.
Anna had told him not to get involved and for the first time he would respect that. "Like I said before, don't hesitate to tell me whenever you need anything." He said to see her nod.
"Don't be stubborn to ask for help when you're done messing around." She nodded. "You can mess around however you want, you're a Declan now." She smiled. Just because he was telling her that doesn't mean she would actually start acting out.
"Let's go now, or we'll be late for the event tonight." She said to see him nod this time. Before she could stand on her feet, Noah carried her in bridal style and started walking.
"Just in case you're not so tired tonight when we're done with the party..."
"No." She said quickly not letting him finish. Noah was so active in bed, if they started anything tonight, he wouldn't let her go till morning. And if he does anything in the morning, he wouldn't let her go till the next day.
"You're quick to respond without even knowing what I'm talking about." She blushed at his words.
