"This shouldn't even be an option, father has to correct the mistake he made years ago. Noah's marriage is at stake here." Lionel said.
"Who cares about that marriage? Noah can find any other worthy, less troublesome woman to be his wife." She rolled her eyes. "You know if father admit his mistake they'll use it against him. He only killed those people because they killed your mother." Evelyn yelled.
The aren't the bad people, general Sui started the whole thing cause he thought he could use his position as a general at the time to intimidate them. Vincent was another hot hotted man, he believed in the tale of, 'An eyes for an eye', and payed back.
His revenge cost the lives of innocent people but his wife was innocent too. She didn't deserve the kind of death she went through, she would have still been alive with them now if that man hadn't killed her.
The only reason he was admitting his mistake was because of his grandson. Noah cannot pay for his sins, not when he's alive.
He got up, picked his walking stick and left the lounge. Evelyn and Lionel were too engrossed in their argument that they had no idea when he left the mansion.
.
Anna had just finished posting a few selfies for her Instagram page and the new product campaign job Nola got for her when Lurch announced the arrival of Elder Vincent Declan. The same man who executed the eviction of her parents.
The man she had once loved because he reminded her so much of her grandfather. If she knew he had killed her parents, she wouldn't have ever grown a soft spot for him. Never.
Vincent removed the hat he wore and coat, he passed it over to Lurch before he walked into his grandson's generous mansion. It would be the first time he has been here since Noah moved out.
His grandson had quite the taste. To tell how much he detest his family, he made sure nothing in the mansion reminded him of them. Vincent chuckled. He would really use his stick on they boys head when he finds him.
He had spoken to Noah earlier and was given the address of the mansion. Though a few questions were asked he didn't reveal the reason he was here to anyone. He wanted to have a talk with his grand daughter in law and he would do just that.
"Please come this way sir. My madam will be with you shortly." Lurch led Vincent into the massive lounge and served him a glass of juice while they waited for their madam to attend to him.
When he had informed about Vincent, she frowned so deeply so he didn't know whether to be happy for the man, or feel sad about his visit.
At some point he almost thought she would hit with with something, anything, for letting the old man in. But she didn't. She just didn't say a word to him.
Their madam hasn't been the same since she returned and they didn't know why.
Anna who just broke the internet yet again, stepped out of the room to see her grandfather in-law. She would be back to post a few pictures of their trip after she's done editing them.
Vincent is the person she was upset with the most the last person she wanted to see. He should be locked up for what he did, but as always, rich people always get away with whatever they do.
Before now, he could never do any wrong in her eyes, she was so surprised to find out he's the monster that murdered her parents.
Vincent seeing his daughter in law walk down the stairs rose from where he sat. He didn't have the usual smile and playful attitude he always kept around her and neither did Anna. She was upset with him and wanted him to know.
"What are you doing here?" She asked as she reached the last flight of stairs. "I'm here to see you Anna." Vincent voice was calm and collected, compared to her raging voice.
"I shouldn't be speaking to you after everything you did. You don't have a right to stand before me."
"I know. I should have told you before now, Noah wanted to too, but I asked him not to." Vincent said.
"Did he send you to me?"
"No." He raised his hands quickly in denial. Noah had been shocked when he said he was visiting the mansion too, but he didn't mind. He should have confessed earlier, but he was scared this would be the result. But what's the use of shutting up, because now it's worse than what he thought.
The soft sweet Anna has turned into something else overnight. She had every right to react however she wanted. They harmed her parents, they stole the joy of having a mother and father's love from her. Vincent has never felt more terrible in his life.
"I shouldn't have done what I did. I really shouldn't have. Your parents are just a victim of whatever fight I and your grandfather once had." He said settling into the sofa.
"I came here to ask you to forgive me, Anna. You shouldn't even forgive me after the terrible thing I've done to you, but please, forgive me." He wiped his tears gently.
"I did something that could have been resolved in a more cordial way. I wasn't thinking back then. I was too upset to know the right or wrong thing to do."
"I should have arrested your grandfather instead of killing your parents. That is my mistake" Anna frowned at his words. Why would he arrest her grandfather when he has done nothing wrong.
"My grandfather did nothing to you?" She said.
"Yes. You know Sui used to be my high school best friend back in high school?" Vincent laughed showing off his white teeth.
"We were the richest boys in the school, we were spoilt and got away with whatever we did." He smiled.
"You see Anna, your grandfather is also not as innocent as you think he is. I'll tell you about everything that happened and why I killed your parents." He smiled.
"Are you here to accuse my grandfather or apologize?" Anna asked cutting him off. There's no way what he and Noah could be accusing her grandfather of was true. It's just their devious way of deceiving her. She knew these tricks all too well.
"I would never accuse your grandfather of anything he hadn't done. I would never kill anyone like that, I didn't even know your parents back then." His voice was calm and collected.
"So why did you kill them. I'm not here to listen to your long epistles. You apologized. No, apology not accepted." Anna had no idea she had raised her voice. She would forgive if they apologize genuinely, but right now it looks like they are trying to blame her family for killing her parents.
"And tell Noah to sign the divorce papers, I'm tired of staying here."
She stood up from her seat to walk away...
"We both had crush on the same girl back then, she chose me, and that action alone started our hatred for each other. Your grandfather went to a different highschool and we separated after that." Vincent continued for Anna to pause.
"How does that have to do with anything?" She yelled.
"He didn't know how to take rejection and took it the wrong way." Vincent continued his story telling.
"After a few years, he came back to steal my wife even if she rejected him countless times." He said scratching his beard with his fingers. "She was beautiful, she had a beautiful soul. The only woman I've loved. You remind me so much of her, kind and gentle."
"But she died." He smiled. "Your grandfather did that. He killed her that night bacause like every other time, she rejected him." Vincent said. "I have no reason to lie to you Anna. I can take the hate from your family, I could go behind bars today for killing your parents, but I can't take it if you leave Noah." He said.
"It would be my fault if that happens. Both you and your parents are just unfortunate to be caught in an old time beef between two foolish boys who still bare grudge against each other."
"Let your grandfather and I handle whatever our fight is and stay happy with Noah. Don't let them use you to fight your happiness "
"I'm sorry your parents are my retaliation, they were the only people available. I got a change of heart late and before I could call off the operation it was already done."
"I didn't mean to hurt them or you Anna. I was just too angry to think at that moment." Anna couldn't believe what she just heard.
Her grandfather...
