Chapter 85 A SLAP SO SWEET 2

1236words
Evelyn who had been the reason for the fight was still astonished at how a small petty talk from Cara turned into something serious. She couldn't believe Cara was this arrogant, the Cara she had known for years wasn't at all a troublemaker. She had wanted to handle it civilly but Cara refused to stop talking and went ahead to call Anna a whore.

"How dare you accuse my daughter wrongly?" Hannah screamed at the woman who had spoken earlier.

"All of you here saw how this nonentity harassed my daughter."

"No, she didn't Hannah." Hannah frowned on seeing who spoke, it was Faith, the same woman who informed her about the news of Cara fighting with someone over a man that day. She had deliberately embarrassed her before those women but not anymore, she wouldn't let this woman embarrass her again.

"Cara had started insulting Anna for gifting our dear Evelyn a mere flower. And all Faith said was that it isn't wrong to judge people for their gifts no matter how small. So tell us Hannah, who harassed who?" She asked.

"But Cara isn't wrong, Evelyn is bigger than that to receive a flower as her birthday gift, especially if it's coming from a nobody." Hannah defended her daughter. "That is still no reason for her to raise her hands on my daughter." She turned to Anna.

"If Cara didn't raise her hands on you, you have no right to raise your hands on her, you don't want to mess with me, Anna Sui." She said.

"She tried to ruin my image just like the last time I met her. You should talk to your daughter to stop involving herself in other people's business." Anna said unblinkingly staring at the elderly woman who could be the same age as her aunties.

All she has heard since she came here is a bunch of wealthy people talking about how rich and powerful they are. And how they could destroy her. If only they knew she was married to Noah. She knew she could do whatever she wanted because she was Noah's wife and they could do nothing to her.

She glanced at her hubby who nodded for her to go on. Anna smiled, she feared no one as long as Noah was backing her.

"How dare you tell me what to do, you arrogant bitch?" Hannah barked.

"Are you the girl Cara had tried to humiliate the other day on the news? The one that threatened to sue her?" Faith asked mockingly and Anna nodded.

"Is she that unmannered? She goes around just harassing people, just like she's doing now?" Anna asked innocently staring at Cara who looked like she could devour her but she care less. Noah has asked her to go on, she isn't going to keep quiet anymore. She is indeed a big bully too.

"In warning you child, you don't know who you're playing with." Hannah threatened.

"Mother let me handle her."

"Don't get involved anymore dear, let mummy handle this," Hannah said to her daughter.

"Now apologize to Cara," Hannah said and Evelyn frowned. She had seen everything happen before her, but Cara was wrong this time. Anna had done nothing except present her gift.

"I'm afraid..."

"That's a bit too far, Hannah, especially since Cara is at fault this time." Hannah turned to Evelyn with wide eyes.

"Don't tell me you're supporting this... Girl over your daughter-in-law Evelyn?" She asked and Evelyn shook her head.

"I'm not doing that. Things wouldn't be this way if Cara had listened when I told her I loved the gift Anna brought. I don't know what previous fight they have in the past, but this is my party and you all are ruining it for me." She said to have everyone quickly apologize.

"We're so sorry Evelyn, whatever we have here will be settled in the morning."Hannah quickly said.

"I'm sorry mother." Cara apologized so did the other women who had gathered there for the hot gist.

Once they left one after another, Anna who was standing there felt someone hold her hands and when she turned to look, it was Noah. "You need to rest." He said softly and she nodded. Evelyn who saw this narrowed her eyes at her son and the model girl.

"I'll see you in the morning Mother." At his words, Noah led his wife out of the ballroom.

Though he hated that she had spent time with his grandfather throughout the party, he was glad she was having fun. Noah planned he would take her away after her gift to his mother, but he had no idea her little gift would attract so much trouble. It's almost like Anna attracts trouble wherever she goes.

"What do you want from me?" Janjan asked pushing the notorious Chalamet from her body but the man didn't bulge, he was determined to mess with her tonight, and he would. He pressed her hands further into the sheets and leaned in closer to her to the point their face almost touched.

Every breath, whether he spoke or was just breathing touched her face turning her breathless. Janjan was forced to look at the face of the man that has pinned her against his bed.

"I... I'll scream if you do not let me go," Janjan whispered wobbling out of his hold.

"Until you speak the truth, I'm afraid I won't let you go." He chuckled darkly. Anna might be looking for her now, today's her first day working and she wasn't doing her job. She's so sure she would be fired by Noah himself tomorrow morning.

"I... I have work to do." She said trying to convince him to let her go. She couldn't tell him the truth, not now, not ever.

"Then speak fast and go for your work." Chalamet smiled.

"M... my boss might be looking for me, she might fire me."

"I'm sure she's too busy with her husband to notice you're not there. We're just fine staying in here alone for the rest of the night. Although that assistant..." He moved his head as if in thought. "Paul." He said. "He's looking for you. What relationship do you have with him? Is he your little boyfriend?"

"Paul is not my boyfriend." Janjan defended to hear him chuckle. She had no idea she would meet this crazy man again in her life, else, she wouldn't attend this party in the first place.

Once she's out of his hold tonight, he will never see her again.

"So tell me, honey, are you ready to speak the truth or not?" He removed the strand of hair that fell from her face as he stared at her. Janjan was beautiful, with a fierce attitude that he loved. She wasn't the usual calm rich woman, or the scheming ones that have nothing to do except plan for other people's failure.

She had gotten his attention from the day she punched him. He couldn't get her out of his head and mind from that day till this very day.

"W... What truth are you talking about?" She licked her lips. "I already told you, I... I don't know what you're talking about." She said.

"There are so many other ways to get the truth out of you sweetheart." His voice darkened as he moved closer and, "I... I'll speak." Janjan quickly said.
