He had said he was so upset with her, but he said it in the sweetest way so she couldn't really tell if he was mad at her or not. Noah stared out the window without even looking her way.
What is this childish attitude? He could easily tell her what she has done wrong so that they would settle whatever it is. She clicked her tongue.
Soon they arrived at the Shen's family house with just one car tailing behind them. The rest of the bodyguards that had gone to save Anna were now all gone to their base leaving the usual guards who always went out with him.
Anna stepped out of the car with Janjan to bid her goodbye.
"I'll see you soon Anna," Janjan said staring back at the car, a small smile forming on her lips and Paul who was walking up to them to return the scarf he took from Janjan scoffed. This girl has successfully entered his payback list and he'll get back at her. If not now, later.
"Of course, we'll go shopping together soon."
"Okay! Jennie gave her friend a thumbs up. At least she knew for the rest of the week she could be stubborn to her father and wouldn't mind if he didn't give her, her allowance.
"Anna I've been meaning to ask you something." Janjan finally said.
"What is it?"
"I don't know..." She trailed biting her lips. Anna has done more than enough for her, she had her own problems and didn't want to disturb her friend with hers. But she needed what she wanted to ask so badly.
Since she was too razz to have a rich boyfriend, she could at least get a job so that her father would leave her alone.
"You know you can tell me anything Jan." Anna held her friend's hands in hers.
"Father has been acting really weird lately, especially since he got another woman pregnant and the scan result shows it's a boy."
"Uncle Shen got another woman pregnant?" Anna turned agape and Janjan quickly covered her friend's mouth with her palm.
"It's not out yet, he doesn't want anyone to know." She whispered.
"Oh, Janjan," Anna called pitifully.
"I need a job, Anna. I don't mind being your P. A or anything, I can do anything." She said.
"That's not an issue Jan. I'll talk to Noah about it and tell you whatever he says." Janjan smiled.
"Thank you so much, my friend. I'll definitely repay you for your kindness." Janjan wiped her tears.
"No need to repay me. It isn't even enough compared to what you have done for me Jan. I'll never forget that." Anna said and both ladies hugged it out.
"But why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"I'm sorry Anna. You have a lot going on already, I didn't want to disturb you with my problems."
"I'm never too busy for my friend. I'll always be there when you call, you have to always remember that." Janjan nodded at her friend's words.
"Miss Shen, your bandana." Paul smiled at the young girl who glared at him.
"You thief. You can keep it I don't need it anymore." She rolled her eyes at him and Paul frowned. He knew she was no different from the other rich kids he had seen. He bowed without another word and walked back to his car.
Mr Shen seeing a new car in his yard stepped out to know what was happening. Have the cops brought his useless daughter back again for getting drunk on the street?
Behind him was his new wife he had just brought home a week ago. Her pregnancy was already visible. Though young, Mia looked so beautiful. She was younger and more beautiful than his first wife Martha.
When he stepped out of the mansion with Mia, Shen was stunned to see Anna Sui in his mansion. The girl whom he had despised years ago, she had the opportunity to get married to Mack Yong and just like every working woman, she had lost it.
This is why he would never let his Janjan work a day in her life. He would rather her get married than work. He has successfully bribed every co-operation in the country to never employ her.
He has known Anna since she was a little girl. In fact, her father, Jacob had been his best friend before the man died. He wondered if his friend was now proud of his useless daughter. A beauty without brain.
"What are you doing out here Jennie?" He asked disdainfully glaring at his stubborn daughter. He has warned her never to associate with people like Anna Sui, but Jennie has refused to listen to him.
"Mr Shen." Anna greeted him with a smile but the elderly man didn't return it. He made it clear she wasn't welcome here.
"Ehh."
"Anna Sui right?" Mia asked with a smile and Anna nodded.
"When our Janjan has told me about you I thought she was bluffing. I'm such a huge fan, Anna." Mia smiled and Anna returned it.
"Thank you."
"You look so beautiful in person."
"That's enough, Jan take your stepmother in." Janjan waved her last goodbye at Anna, worry evident on her face as she helped her stepmother inside the mansion.
"I don't want to see you close to my mansion or my Janjan. Stop being friends with her and I influencing her with your rubbish."
"I'm afraid she won't do that. I'm the only one that gets to boss her around." Noah said from behind her and Shen's eyes went wide.
"Mr Declan," Shen exclaimed looking stunned.
"What a pleasant surprise. I had no idea you knew Anna Sui." He confessed.
"I don't just know her she's my wife and I wouldn't tolerate someone as low as you disrespecting a Declan. Isn't that right?" Noah smiled.
"I'm so sorry Master Noah, I had no idea she was your wife." Gabriel Shen knelt and this time it was Anna who turned stunned.
"I'll spare you for tonight. You should be grateful my wife loves your daughter like a sister and hurting her dear father would really hurt what my wife likes. I would have cut off that tongue of yours." Noah clicked his tongue.
"My apologies to you Anna. I had no idea. Please you can visit as you like whenever you want." He bowed.
Noah did wait for his soft wife to respond and he led her into their car. Gabriel Shen didn't move from where he stood till the car disappeared from his sight. Then he let out a long sigh, glaring at the workers who dared peek at him embarrassing himself before that small boy.
Janjan who has been watching everything from inside the mansion along with her new stepmother couldn't believe what had just happened. Her hard-hearted father, had knelt and bowed to Anna and her husband.
Just who the hell is Noah Declan?
Gabriel shook his head. He didn't believe Noah would be here today, and who knew Anna would one day be married to that man?
He had always thought the girl to be foolish just like his friend Jacob, but she just shocked him today. So this is the reason she had left Mack Yong.
She has just caught the biggest fish in the sea.
"How did you know Mr Shen?" Anna asked Noah who has returned to give her silent treatment like he didn't just defend her just now. She rolled her eyes at him.
"You can just stop acting like a child Noah and talk to me." She cried out. He is older yet she's the mature one.
"Talk about what exactly?" Noah's voice was calm as he stared at her.
"Talk about everything that happened."
"That you forgot to call me in that situation, or the fact you let that man touch you again." She scoffed at his words.
"He only cleaned something from my skin. Why are you so jealous?"
"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!! Can't you see?" Anna suddenly turned agape as she stared at Noah.
"I hate sharing what's mine with others. How many times do I have to tell you to understand?"
"I'm not a property to own Noah."
"Who says you were? You're my wife Anna. My love. My queen. My everything. Why will you be a property to own?" She had nothing to say to Noah, rather started crying.
"Don't do this Noah." She sobbed quietly wiping her tears.
"Do what? Love you?" He moved closer to her.
"Yes, that. I... I might fall in love with you too." She confessed and Noah tried so hard to control his emotions. It overflowed, the joy was too much to contain.
"There's no need to rush, we're in this forever my sweet girl." Noah pulled her to sit on his legs while he wiped her tears.
