When she takes her bath she thinks of him, when she's about to sleep he's the first thing in her mind, he is the first thing she thinks about when she wakes up.
He practically is always on her mind.
Yes, he was her husband but it hasn't been up to a month since she met Noah and he has already clouded her thoughts.
He was too sweet to her, and it was getting dangerous. She was scared of these feelings. She didn't want what happened with Mack to repeat again.
Anna knew she had to stop before it became something else.
Last night was the height of it, she had dreamt of Noah and in her dream, he kissed her again.
His kisses have awoken certain emotions in her. The way his tongue played catch and chase with hers, and the way his soft lips moved on hers. Her breath rushed out of her at her thought. She was breathless, just like when he kissed her.
Noah didn't have to do much to stay on her mind. A simple action of his could rile up certain dangerous emotions in her. She clasped her thighs close, biting on her lower lips when she felt a familiar ache between her thighs.
She always had these feelings whenever she thought of him. It's like her body craves something she couldn't quite think of.
Her body had a mind of its own and it came alive with Noah around. She still had no idea why she felt this way.
She shouldn't feel this way for him or any man. She couldn't feel this way. She thought she had closed her heart to love, but why did it skip with him around?
Why did it skip when she thinks about him like it's doing now?
She didn't realize how much she craved love till she met Noah. He was everything she imagined Mack to be.
Anna heard her phone ring and when she checked the caller, it read 'Hubby'. Her heart skipped but she stubbornly ignored him.
She needed a few days to think and get rid of these feelings. She couldn't forget Noah's reason for marrying her in the first place.
He was only using her to stop his family from setting more blind dates for him. If he hadn't told her, she wouldn't have believed it.
Maybe he's sweet to everyone and not just her. But she would have believed her lies if she hadn't seen how Noah treats others. He was only sweet to her.
She placed her phone on the table and stepped into the bathroom to shower. Once she was done bathing, Anna picked up the pink towel in a corner and stepped out of the bathroom only to see Noah sitting on her bed.
She flinched. This must be a dream, it's not possible for Noah to be here this early. He turned to look at her immediately, his dark eyes moving through every inch of her. She suddenly felt naked even if she had a towel on her body.
The ache she had managed to calm was back as always.
"To be done bathing by this time you must have stepped in before 8:30. Why aren't you picking up my calls?" He asked and she gulped.
There's no way she would let him know she was avoiding him because she's scared of falling in love with him. Noah would just torture her further. He's a crazy man.
"You had to come all the way here at this time Noah?" There was no reaction on his face, it was as indifferent as ever. She expected him to react to her words, to say something to her.
She had deliberately called him by his name but Noah didn't react. He said nothing to her. He just stared at her.
He suddenly rose from where he sat and walked up to her. Anna could feel her heart race with fear. The little vigor she had managed to gather slipped away from her with each step he took toward her.
She abruptly stopped breathing the moment he was standing before her.
Noah raised his hands and she closed her eyes. He held her chin, moving it to the side and back. When she didn't respond to his text or pick up his call, he thought something bad must have happened to her.
But when he got here, nothing happened to her. In fact, his wife is perfectly fine, she was just ignoring his calls.
"It's already painful enough that you're here and now you choose to ignore me." There was something with the way Noah spoke, a hidden anger mixed with worry and relief was lurking in that deep voice.
Was he upset with her?
"You just know how to get me upset don't you woman?" He raised her chin and licked her lips and Anna's eyes flew open.
"Why do I feel like we'll have a lot of problems in the future?" His voice has gotten deeper and hoarse as he covered her entire lips with his mouth sucking on it for the briefest moment before letting her go.
"W... We shouldn't do this," Anna whispered breathlessly and his black eyes met her blue ones.
"Why? It's not like we're doing something wrong." Noah said innocently to see her lips tremble. His wife had turned all red, he could see how embarrassed she was even if she had nothing to be embarrassed about.
She blinked multiple times trying to get back to her senses.
"I'll stay here a week longer and return when I want. You don't have to get me tomorrow."
She would do anything to be as far away from Noah as possible. Noah was like a drug that was intoxicating her senses.
At first, she thought her feelings were normal, but she was scared of falling in love with him. She couldn't risk another heartbreak again.
Noah held a strand of her hair between his fingers. "Your time in this mansion ends tomorrow, After that, I'll come get you myself." He said.
"I'm not going with you." Anna shook her head. If she lived with Noah, she might just die from the feelings she had. She has never felt this way with anyone and she had no idea why.
"My stubborn little wife." He drawled.
"Did you forget you're now a married woman and you have responsibilities?" He squeezed the strands to draw water from it and watched it fall on her shoulder. The water trailed down to her chest and disappeared on the pink towel.
All he wanted to do was rip this towel off her body and watch the water roll down to her nipples while he dries it with his tongue. His tongue was a better tool that this stupid towel.
"For a marriage that wouldn't last, I... I don't think I have any responsibilities." He let go of her hair with a frown.
"Who says it wouldn't last?"
"That's not the agreement we had." Anna reminded him. She wanted six months but he said a year.
"Fuck that." He grabbed her waist and pulled her closer.
"We're in this forever my Mrs Declan." She felt her heart skip at his words. He isn't serious, right?
"You've forgotten so soon who you belong to, do you want me to remind you?" Anna blinked at him. This is not the agreement they had made, Noah said they were only in a trial marriage for a year, he never said it was forever.
"Noah..." She called when she felt his hands down there.
