Chapter 56 SHE HAS A BAD REPUTATION

1043words
The entire Yong family was gathered in the dining room for breakfast when Nari's phone beeped.

It was against the family's rules to use your cell phone while eating but she had to check. She was too upset to follow any rule this morning.

Elder Yong has once again rejected the idea of her getting married to Mack even if she was pregnant. He had boldly asked her to get rid of the child, that the only baby he would be accepting of their family was that of Anna.

Once again, Anna was brought up. She couldn't even live peacefully without being compared to that bitch.

Nari has asked Mack to return to his apartment but anytime they want to leave, Veronica Yong pretends to be sick and act like she's dying.

She was tired of this old couple controlling their life. She couldn't tell how Anna could endure all of these but she couldn't. She would never let them ride her however they wanted.

It's not like she didn't want to get rid of the pregnancy when Mack was worth just a billion but now he's 20 times worth more, she couldn't leave. Aside from the Declan's and those who barely show off, Mack is now up there with them.

"Noah Declan has asked me to walk in the company Father." He said immediately staring at his father who had said he was making the wrong decision.

"He needs your help in running the company after all," Veronica said proudly smiling at her daughter-in-law who didn't return it. She understood Nari was having her usual mood swings because she was pregnant.

"Please. Why would he use Mack when he is the reason for the first downfall of the business in the first place." Elder Yong rolled his eyes clicking his tongue. He didn't like how much knowledge Mack lacked in the business world.

Noah Declan should be of the same age as his son yet he has made name for himself.

Mack didn't say a word to his father and just ate his food.

"It's not nice for you to always palter with everything he does." Veronica defended her son.

"Mack is Young, as his father you should support him rather than try to tear him down Henry."

Nari ignored their conversation and checked the message her assistant sent her. It's the new photo Anna posted last night. She wondered why he sent this to her, what is her business if Anna posted a selfie of herself in her room?

Then almost immediately he sent another photo trending on the news. They tagged Anna's name saying it was her and her new man. Nari smiled. She knew more than anyone that Anna was doing all of this to get back at Mack.

To Nari, Anna wanted to be noticed by Mack so badly, but she had forgotten that Mack was now hers. Nari smiled.

Curious Mack wondered why Nari was suddenly in a good mood and he dragged her cell phone from her. Mack frowned.

.

"Did you see the news yesterday?" Lionel asked his son as they both stepped into his study.

"What about it?" Noah asked. He watched his father walk to his desk and sit.

"I was curious at the way you defended that girl yesterday and had to do a little investigation on her," Lionel said.

"What about it?"

"She has a bad reputation, Noah."

Anna's reputation is so bad that Lionel fears of his wife finds out about it, she will never accept the girl into their family. But he already knows Noah does not care about that.

Noah is not someone who lets people detect his life. And anything decision he makes is permanent.

"She doesn't. Not compared to your daughter." He said to see his father frown.

"Beth has nothing to do with this." Noah smiled at his father's words.

"A father defending his daughter. She would be so proud of you." He chuckled.

"Noah..."

"What is your point?"

"Did you find out who killed her parents?" Lionel had been shocked when his son asked about Jacob Sui. He knew who killed the man, in fact, he was involved in the man's death. But he just couldn't tell Noah.

"Grandpa did," Noah said.

"I'm sorry I couldn't tell you the night you asked. I wanted him to say it himself." Lionel confessed.

He was the one who helped his father out of the trouble back then. If he hadn't stepped in, elder Vincent would have been in jail by now. Lionel knew how many connections he lost because of his father.

"I understand.

"You should be careful with Cara, she isn't what she seems to be," Lionel said. He had seen the girl rush out of Noah's room and knew what happened.

She had thrown herself at him, but Noah rejected her and sent her out. He saw Noah nod at his words.

"She talked about Marriage," Noah said. Not that he cared much about it since he wouldn't marry her anyway, but he wanted to let his father know he wasn't interested so they wouldn't bring up such matter anymore.

"It's the nonsense your mother spills into her head every day." Lionel rolled his eyes.

"Don't worry Noah, nothing like that is happening." He then went on to say, "You should settle whatever it is with your wife's family and make an introduction quickly. Your mother is not going to stop anytime soon."

Noah nodded. He knew his mother would not stop trying to match him with Cara. He could endure for the time being, maybe till Anna is ready. It's not like it's going to change a thing, he is already married to someone else.

He smiled as he thought of his wife. She was now warming up to him, and that's all he wanted.

It's only a matter of time before he steals her heart completely. He would be the only thought she would have, the person she would wish to see the most.

Noah stepped out of his father's study when they were done talking. He texted Anna immediately but got no response. He waited for a while and she still didn't respond, he called her, but no one picked up.
