"We now can keep running," Dapo says, voice very strong with determination. "We must face them."
Eki nodded with much determination in her eyes. They must show Thorne and his group to everyone, so they can be punished properly. But they needed a plan, a strategy that would give them the upper hand.
They decide to go see one person who can help them: Chief Olumide. They know it is very risky, but they have no other choice. The Chief was the leader of the Olumide family, a man with great power and influence. Maybe he can be important for their rescue mission.
With much sadness, they went to the Olumide family's big house. The place was huge and very grand, making it easy to see that the family was rich and powerful. When they get close to the gates, a strong fear takes over them. They feel ready to face the very heart of darkness.
They went into the mansion, and when they got there, all the staff became very happy. They walked to the main living room where Chief Olumide was already waiting for them. He was an old man, his face showing many lines from aging and living a long life.
"Why did you come here all of a sudden?" he asked, his voice sounding curious but also a little bit upset.
Eki and Dapo exchanged a nervous glance. They knew they had to be careful. They had to choose their words wisely.
"We have important news for the family," Eki starts, speaking gently. "News that may change everything."
Chief Olumide raised an eyebrow. "And what exactly is this information?" he asked, his voice laced with scepticism.
Eki took a deep breath. "It's about the artefacts," she said. "The ones that were stolen."
Chief Olumide's face hardened. "I am aware of the theft," he replied coldly. "The authorities are handling the matter."
"They're not," Dapo interjected. "The theft is just the tip of the iceberg. There's a much larger conspiracy at play."
Chief Olumide leaned forward, eyes full of curiosity. "And what exactly is this conspiracy?" he asked.
Eki and Dapo exchanged a glance. They knew they had to be careful. They couldn't reveal everything at once.
"We think there is a connection between robbery and a powerful organization," Eki said, her voice very careful. "An organization that wants to control the world."
Chief Olumide leaned forward, his eyes showing curiosity. "And why do you think you know more than authorities?" he asked. He asked, his voice laced with scepticism.
Eki and Dapo looked at each other. They knew they needed to convince the Chief that their words were true.
"We have evidence," Eki said with much confidence in her voice. "Evidence that the curator belongs to a much larger group."
Chief Olumide raised an eyebrow. "The curator?" he repeated, his voice showing a lot of surprise. "I thought other artists respected him much."
"Looks can be tricking," Dapo said. "He was part of a plan to disgrace the Olumide family."
Chief Olumide's face turned very serious. "Why do you think I trust such strange words?" he asked, his voice filled with anger.
Eki and Dapo realized they had to be very careful. They needed to convince the Chief, but they couldn't share too many details.
"We have proof," Eki said with a calm voice. "Proof that the curator was working together with a powerful group, a group wanting to control the whole world."
Chief Olumide's eyes narrowed. "And what exactly is this proof?" he demanded.
Eki took a moment to stop, feeling uncertain because they understood it was very dangerous. However, there were no other choices available for them.
"We have a machine," she said with a very urgent voice. "A machine that can control minds."
Chief Olumide's face turned pale. He leaned forward, his eyes wide with disbelief. "A device that can control minds?" he repeated, his voice barely a whisper.
Eki nodded, feeling her heart beat quickly. She knew there was a big risk in what they were doing, but it looked like their only chance.
"Is that true," she said. "Curator was using it to make people do things, to control their minds."
Chief Olumide leaned back in his chair, mind filled with quick thoughts. It was clear he had difficulty believing what he just heard.
"And how did you get this device?" he asked with a voice full of doubt.
Eki and Dapo exchanged a glance. They knew they had to be careful. They couldn't reveal too much about their involvement.
"It is a long story," Eki replied, voice sounding careful. "But we think it is key to stopping organization."
Chief Olumide kept silent for some time, his mind working fast. Finally, he spoke. "If what you say is true, then we have the same enemy," he said in a loud voice. "We will join together to stop them."
Eki and Dapo are now feeling a lot more comfortable. Chief Olumide, who is the powerful leader of the Olumide family, gives them his support. It was a significant victory, but they knew the battle was far from over.
'We need to move fast," Dapo said, his voice very urgent. 'Thorne and his group do not give up easily."
Eki nodded. 'We need to find out more about this device," she said. 'It's the key to everything."
Chief Olumide leaned forward. "I have a team of experts who can examine the device," he proposed. 'They can determine its capabilities and how it can be used against us."
Eki and Dapo exchanged grateful glances. They were finally getting the support they needed. With the Chief's resources available to them, they had a better chance to defeat Thorne and his group.
When they discussed what to do next, hope began rising within them. They realized now that in this fight, they were no longer alone. They got help from a strong friend, and together, they could change things.
Days turned into weeks as they worked very hard to find out the secrets of the device and learn who created it. The Chief's team, which had many experts, showed good progress and began fitting together pieces of the puzzle.
They learned the organization was much larger than they imagined. It has reached into governments, large companies, and even media outlets. Its reach was global, and its power was immense.
When the true story becomes clear, Eki and Dapo see how much danger they face. They were fighting a very strong enemy and risking their lives to stop it.
But they want to finish this. They have come very far already, and now stopping is not possible for them anymore. They had to expose Thorne and his organization, to bring them to justice.
As they kept investigating, threats began to come their way. Someone was watching them and did not like how much progress they made. They had to be careful, to stay one step ahead of their enemies.
One evening, when they are working very late, suddenly the power goes off. The whole apartment becomes very dark in a second. Eki and Dapo exchanged a worried glance. They knew something was wrong.
While they were about to look at things, a noise was heard from the window. A figure appeared in the dark, looking like a shadow holding something that looked like a gun.
Eki and Dapo stopped, their hearts beating very quickly inside them. The figure outside the window seemed like a dark shadow in the night, but they noticed a cold and careful gleam in its eyes. It was Thorne.
He had found them.
Eki and Dapo experienced a chilling fear. They understood troubles were ahead, but they did not expect them to arrive so soon. Thorne was closer than they had thought, more dangerous than they had imagined.
Thorne lifts the gun and shoots at the window. Glass breaks into pieces, and cold night air comes quickly inside the apartment room. Eki and Dapo ducked for cover, their lives hanging by a thread.
They know they cannot remain there. They have to run away and must be fast. Feeling adrenaline rushing in their body, they walked to the other window. They could feel hearts beating very strongly inside their chest.
When they come to the window, footsteps sound closer. Thorne and his men are nearly there. They had to make a decision, and they had to make it fast.
When they looked down, the ground floor seemed very far away, many floors below them. Jumping was dangerous, but it was their only chance. Without hesitation, they jumped.
