"We need to watch out," Dapo said, his voice with worry. "She can deceive us."
Eki nodded, her thoughts running fast. "However, she also has knowledge that we lack. Maybe she can be the one who unlocks this case for us."
In the next few days, they spend time making a very careful plan. They choose to give Olajumoke false information and observe if she remains loyal or not. They also decide on collecting proof by themselves - constructing their own case.
Olajumoke did not have an easy time when they first met. The small café, with dim lights everywhere, felt heavy because of the unspoken words in the air. Olajumoke herself wore clothes that were stylish yet also not standing out much; she seemed quite nervous as well.
"I think a lot about your proposal," Eki began, her voice steady. "We are ready to work together with you, but it must be on our terms."
Olajumoke showed she agreed by nodding her head, eyes showing both feeling comfort and some resistance. "Yes, I understand." I only desire to reveal reality."
They spend much time sharing information, like a dance between trust and deception. Olajumoke talks about the secret group, how it is organized and what its goals are. Eki and Dapo listened with much attention, their thoughts running fast.
The picture that showed up was very frightening. The secret group had way more strength and control than they thought earlier. It is not just about having the same interests; they became like a system that works very well, with strong connections touching all parts of society.
They left the café feeling worried, knowing they were in this problem much deeper than they ever imagined. The enemy was near, and time was escaping fast.
They choose to improve their security. Now, their apartment is like a fortress: all windows have blackout curtains and each door has been reinforced. They lived always alert, their days turning into the same routine of working, checking everything and feeling uncertain all the time.
The weight, both on body and heart, was very heavy. Eki and Dapo saw they were becoming more far from each other because the problems they faced began to test how strong their bond was. They look like two boats caught in a big storm, and their love is the only anchor keeping them from sinking.
One evening, while Eki is by herself in her study room, she receives a peculiar email. The message contains just one photo: it displays a map with a red X indicating some important location. No information about the sender was present but only the image appeared.
Her heart beat quickly. Was this a trick, a scheme to lead them into danger? But, the curiosity was too strong. She showed the email to Dapo, and their faces were full of uncertainty.
"What do we do?" Dapo asked, his voice filled with doubt.
Eki felt unsure. "We need to leave," she said at last. "We cannot let this chance go away."
They understood the risks, but their urge to explore was too strong. They had to know what lay at the end of that map.
When they get ready for the trip, they feel nervous. They are going into something new and have no way to return from it.
The map looked a lot like a puzzle that was hard to solve. The place it showed wasn't clear, maybe somewhere far at the edge of town. It looked like a land of legends, where ancient customs took place. The journey would be dangerous, with secret hazards around.
When they prepare to go, a sense of conclusion begins to build up. It could be their last chance to discover the truth and end the curse that has plagued their town for so long. But it can also be a serious mistake, like stepping into an unfamiliar place where there is no way to return.
Eki and Dapo took only a few things, just what they needed. They left a note for their families but did not say much about the reason why they went away. The choice was difficult but easy to understand because involving other people in this dangerous job was not possible.
While driving away from the city, it felt like the world became smaller. The familiar places started to blur and were replaced with a sense of loneliness. As we drove farther, we ventured more into unfamiliar territory.
The journey was very long and difficult. They had many troubles such as roadblocks, flat tires, and even an unusual encounter with the police. But their strong willpower made them continue. As they got closer to the place, their excitement grew stronger and bigger.
And when they reach the spot shown on the map, what they see is very surprising. There lies a hidden valley full of mist; in its center, there is a huge stone structure. The atmosphere carries an ethereal vigour - one can feel it, this ancient mightiness.
When they approached the building, a feeling of fear grabbed them. It was like something was dragging them into a vortex or some place beyond human understanding. The energy was getting more concentrated as they moved closer.
They got to a safe place, feeling their hearts beating very fast. They were almost finding something important but also close to danger.
"We have to be cautious," Dapo whispered, his concern visible. "This place is not like before."
Eki made a small nod, her eyes fixed on the large building. Now it felt like a battle of courage, where fear and determination met each other head-on. They had gone too deep to retreat.
They took big breaths and then went ahead, stepping into places they did not know. The journey was just beginning, and the challenges would become more difficult.
