With a series of crashes, he tore through the room, destroying everything of Joel's within reach.
A stunned silence fell over the room. No one dared intervene.
After what felt like forever, someone whispered:
"What's gotten into Jack? Why's he losing it over nothing?"
I stood frozen, accidentally catching Jack's eye.
His gaze softened with concern, his lips parting as if to speak.
But across the room, I couldn't make out what he was trying to say.
Suddenly, a hard shove from behind sent me stumbling toward Jack.
"God, Sophia, you're nothing but trouble. You provoked Jack on purpose, didn't you? This is all your fault!"
"Exactly! Joel might have spoiled you, but Jack won't be so forgiving. You'd better apologize before he really loses it."
Joel's girlfriend chimed in with perfect timing.
"Joel, stay out of this. Don't let her damage your friendship with Jack."
