Kael's voice wasn't loud, but carried that Alpha command tone that made Omegas instinctively want to obey.
I shuffled over, keeping my head down.
The training hall fell dead silent. Everyone watched. You could hear the faint hum of the energy crystal.
I stood before him, fighting to keep my spine straight, refusing to let his overwhelming Alpha presence crush me.
Kael didn't stand. Just tilted his head up to look at me.
Those golden wolf eyes—dangerous yet somehow mesmerizing.
"Omega." He slowly twirled the challenge letter between his fingers. "You want to challenge me?"
I could feel his Alpha aura expanding outward, making it difficult to breathe.
"Not challenge," I managed, fighting to keep my voice steady. "Just wondering if... you might consider moving?"
Kael stared at me. Silent.
A full ten seconds of eye contact.
My Omega instincts screamed "RUN!" but I bit my lip and held my ground.
Then Kael suddenly grinned, flashing dangerously sharp canines.
"Interesting."
He stood—Jesus, this Alpha had to be at least six-foot-three—towering over me.
He shoved the letter against my chest, leaned down until his breath was hot against my face:
"You can have the spot. But you owe me."
"I'll collect. Soon."
He grabbed his things and strode off.
Leaving me standing there, heart hammering like a war drum.
This Alpha... was way too dangerous.
