I pushed open the heavy glass doors—morning light streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the air carrying that distinctive pine scent of wolf territory.
My gaze swept the training hall.
The prime spot—that perfect corner near the energy crystal where light and power converged—was already taken.
By a wolf, to be precise.
His silver hair looked almost translucent in the morning light, eyes closed in meditation, profile so flawless he could've stepped straight out of a Renaissance painting.
Asher Frost. The Silver Wolf Alpha.
One of the Alliance's most celebrated Alphas, heir to the Frost Pack, notoriously aloof, and rumored to never even acknowledge Omegas.
Perfect target.
I pulled out the challenge letter I'd carefully drafted the night before:
"Alpha Asher Frost, I hereby challenge your claim to this position. Decline and vacate, or accept and face me. —Omega Elara Grey"
I waited until he stood to retrieve dumbbells from the equipment rack, then darted over and slipped the letter under his meticulously folded towel.
I scurried away casually, ducking behind a weight rack to watch the drama unfold.
Asher returned moments later.
He paused at his mat, noticing the corner of paper peeking from beneath his towel.
Those elegant fingers plucked up the letter. Unfolded it with precision.
In the next instant—
I watched his eyes flash from icy blue to molten silver—wolf eyes, the unmistakable sign of shock and anger.
A low Growl rumbled from deep in his throat.
But just as quickly, he composed himself.
A mocking smile curved his lips. He glanced at the letter once more, then gracefully gathered his belongings.
Turned. Strode away.
Moving at least twice his normal pace.
I counted down in my head: three, two, one—
Charge!
I dropped onto that coveted mat, whipped out my phone, and spam-liked that forum genius's post.
Holy shit, it actually worked!
The energy field here was absolutely divine!
