Chapter 218 Gone?
1760words
And just like that, he is gone.
I don't know if I should be angry at him or be relieved that he has finally listened to me and left me alone here. But somewhere in my heart, I feel the discomfort and disappointment from him leaving me so soon. At least, he should have tried to convince me more, or grabbed me and kissed me hard.
Maybe that would particularly melt all the hatred and indifference in my heart.
But, no, he just walked away from me, and what could I expect from him? This is how he always used to be, quiet, ignorant, weak. When he hadn't walked away from me in difficult situations? He is always helpless and powerless.
Sigh.
Dejectedly I return to my room and just as I curled myself into a ball suddenly the door opened, and for one I expected this person to be Andrew but no, instead, Cyrus walks over with his drowsy eyes and slumbering self.
"Mommy... there is something under my bed." He whines hoarsely and I open my arms wide allowing him to hide in my arms to feel safe, but he doesn't know that this hug is mostly for myself, for my safety, for my peace.
He sleeps in my embrace peacefully and my burning heart also feels at ease after embracing Cyrus's warmth in my arms.

We wake up a little late than our usual time, and I take Cyrus to the kitchen with me to cook breakfast in a hurry. I know Aaton must be waiting for us in his room. I don't see Miss Celine in the kitchen as I start to prepare breakfast on my own.
And after a while, as I am busy in preparing the cheese toasts, I hear Cyrus exclaiming excitedly, informing me about his father, and brother, Aaron.
But when I turn to look at them, there was another person too, the young nanny of Aaron, Selina.
I am not bothered by her appearance but somehow her familiarity with Andrew, and that shy smile of hers that she gives to Andrew says a lot of things to me that I try my best to ignore.
After all, Andrew is such a handsome man, who won't adore his beauty? While I look at myself, I have become so ugly and messy. My hair stays on the top of my head, I don't do skincare, neither I wear any fancy clothes at all.
Gone, the young, careless Tessa. Now I am mature, and a responsible mother. There is no Tessa Will but the mother of Cyrus and Aaron.
Since, Andrew entered the kitchen he hasn't acknowledged me once not that I am dying for his attention but at least a "Morning" greeting would be enough, no?
Taking the tray of cheese toasts, I step out of the kitchen with the kids following me behind closely.
After setting them both to their places, I patiently wait for Andrew to come over to join us but he didn't emerge and I am sure he is talking with Selina as I could hear faint noises from the kitchen.
I have prepared enough toast for the family of four but I haven't offered him breakfast yet. I think of greeting him first politely and then offering the breakfast when Selina brings over his breakfast with a sweet smile and his lips too stay curved all the time while she set his breakfast and then walks away.
Fantastic.
Annoyingly, I swallow back all the unsaid words and fill my mouth with toasts so I won't misspeak in anger.
I shouldn't be feeling bothered by his uncaring behavior towards me but somehow I am burning in agony while watching him devouring the breakfast made by another woman. If it would be Miss Celine I wouldn't have been feeling this way but as this is Selina, who is far more gorgeous, young and beautiful than me, it's giving me sore eyes.
Furiously, I take the plates and walk back to the kitchen to clean them when I notice the sight of Selina who is eagerly waiting in the kitchen for someone, which means Andrew.
She looks disappointed when she notices me entering the kitchen instead of Andrew, giving her a cold stare I walk towards the basin to wash the plates when Andrew too arrives in the kitchen behind me and start praising Selina.
Seriously?
Just last night this man was confessing his love to me, holding me in a firm grip and not allowing me to move at all, and Today, here, he is praising another woman, and that too in front of me, or at the back of me after all my back is on both of them.
And even though, I am done washing plates I still stay to listen to their conversation.
Andrew walks away after announcing out loud that he is leaving for the office and I finally close the water tap and then turn to Selina who is all red from the blushing.
Oh, wow, my husband's charms never seem to disappoint any lady.
"Selina, right?" I acknowledge, sarcastically, although I know it's her name.
"Yes, Miss." She replies politely, all flushed.
"Your job is to take care of my son, right?" I question.
"Yyyess... Miss. It's mostly helping Miss Martha in everything." She explains looking a little nervous.
"Hmm... Miss Martha..." I tap my chin as though I am lost in thinking and then raise my brow at her in pure sarcasm, "I don't see Miss Martha around here, so what were you doing in the kitchen, Selina? I don't think looking for my husband is included in your job."
She shrinks and her skin turns pale from my icy stare at her and somehow she gets my point as she lowers her head and apologizes sincerely, "I will be careful next time, Miss."
"Good, I won't warn you next time," I tell her dismissively as I walk out of the kitchen with my head held high and my heart feeling lighter and calm.
I spend my time with my sons. It's a delight to spend some alone time with my kids. I wonder where Andrew has shifted the big piano that he used to play before.
The whole day spent well and I didn't hear from Andrew neither see him in the house usually, he would stay at home after 4 but this day he didn't return not until it was dinner time.
I only realize this when he didn't show up but his sister, Anna does.
"Ann, where is Daddy?" Aaron asks and I also look up at Anna with curious eyes, this is the first day that I haven't seen him for the whole day.
"Daddy has gone out for some business," Anna replies with a gentle smile.
Business? He is gone? But for how many days? And what about Cyrus's result when those reports will come?
He should have informed me or discussed with me the circumstances. no?
"Oh," Aaron sigh with a sad face but soon Anna cheers him up and starts talking with Cyrus too. I don't object to their normal short interaction in front of my eyes but I'm afraid of sending my son alone with her. She is not the woman to be trusted at all.
After dinner when I am supposed to take both kids to their room, Anna interrupts while calling Miss Martha, "I have brought some ice cream for Cyrus and Aaron. Can you take them both inside the kitchen to have it?"
Miss Martha nods obediently and both kids' eyes shine with excitement after hearing the word ice cream. I intend to follow them when Anna's words stop me, "I need a word with you." She says in a plain unharmful tone but I could sense the venom in her words.
Both kids disappear from my sight and once they are out of my sight, I turn to Anna confidently, "Yes, what is it?"
"Hah," She scoffs at me and then fixes me with a cold and humiliating stare. "Look at you, you have got a tongue, now."
"Is this what you want to talk about, my characteristic?" I sneer.
"I don't have that much time to waste with you, Tessa Will." She retorts.
"Neither am I free to listen to your nonsense, Anna Swan." I intentionally take her full name and the muscle on her face twitches at my provocation.
"You're under my territory, never forget that Tessa Will." her jaw clenches unpleasantly.
"No, I am standing in my home, the home that the father of my children owns." I correct her with a firm face and she looks at me amused.
"What? Do you really think I am the same silly obedient Tessa, No, Anna Swan, I know my rights and am even able to protect them." I tell her confidently and her pupils dilated, a look of pure disgust appears on her face when she opens her mouth, "Andrew will never accept you ever. He will give you no rights over him, or over Aaron."
Her words are like a rock that terribly shatters all my confidence.
She is right indeed, who am I fooling? Andrew has never raised his voice in front of his sister and neither he would be able to give me my rights as his wife and the mother of our children
This bitter truth gives me immense pain making me flinch from the discomfort.
"Huh, you know this better than me," She says in mock trying to lower my confidence more.
But, I stay stubborn.
"I don't want your brother and neither any rights on him. As soon as Aaron gets well I will leave this place the soonest."
She looks shocked by my confession but after a moment, her lips curve into a smug smile and she looks at me with the challenge in her eyes.
"Well, let's see if you'll stay true to your words. Tessa Will."
"I will, Anna Swan," I tell her firmly and then furiously march to the kitchen, this woman has been able to spoil my night but I won't let her spoil my future. She has already harmed me enough, now I won't let any harm come to me and my son.
I will leave here as soon as Aaron will get his treatment, but when this is going to happen, all this mystery lies with Andrew but where the hell is Andrew gone out of the sudden?
Where are you, Andrew Jack?
