Chapter 167 OVER PROTECTIVE
1606words
"Stand up, we are going for the check-up, right now…" I pull her up from her arm and before she is able to refuse me, I drag her out of the office taking multiple suspicious gazes at me.
Like I care.
I don't know from where I have got that much anxiousness in concern for Lillian's sex life, but hell, I know how does it feel to have sudden news of pregnancy and it shakes you from inside and out.
It's the most thrilling news for some people but my experience was a little pessimistic and I don't want Lillian to feel the same at all especially when she has no love for Ron.
Probably a one-night stand that too in a drunk state.
After pushing her into my car, I drove away.
She stays quiet all the time. I think my appearance at this moment is intimidating her. I am being overprotective for her, but if not I then who else is going to think about her life?
She is utterly quiet beside me.
Good, I am not in the mood of listening to her stupid long talks that make no sense at all.
I park outside our hospital and then drag her inside with me. The gynecologist that has been appointed by Ann for Tessa comes over and then takes away Lillian with her while weirdly gazing at me.
She must know that Tessa has been out of town for quite some time. After all, she must have been prescribed her medicines.
I sit outside patiently waiting for the doctor to call me inside and report on Lillian's health. I hope that night's foolish act didn't land her in trouble.
If by any chance she is found pregnant, I will make sure that Ron marries her within a month.
I am going to kick his ass if he turns out to be the culprit here.
F**k, I am being too protective for Lillian but why not, I have treated her like my sister. After Ann, I feel closer to her, more than Ron and Tessa.
I was pacing back and forth when the doctor came over to me.
"Is she pregnant?" I ask her impulsively and her pupils dilated as she questions with a bitter face, "Have you slept with her too?"
Slept with her, too?
I don't appreciate her choice of words but realizing that I have slipped my tongue before I start to explain to her calmly, "You are getting me wrong. I am her boss and worried for her, that's all."
She looks at me suspiciously as she states, "A boss and you are anxious like you are the father of her child."
What???
Does that mean she is pregnant???
Oh, Ron. You are dead now.
"So, she did conceive?" I whisper in disbelief.
How could this be true? It's only two days if I count correctly.
"No, she didn't. She is completely fine, a bit…" She pauses and then says hesitatingly, "Mister, you have to be gentle with her… She is a woman and she needs care."
Her tone has a slight hint of scolding and I breathe a sigh of relief.
Thankful.
You get lucky,, Ron.
"Can I see her?" I ask, ignoring her blaming eyes on me.
"She is coming outside in a bit." She refuses me impolitely and then walks away from me and her heels produce a louder sound than it should be producing on normal days.
I think those are indirect curses from her.
Is it because she likes Tessa? Or does she think I am a moron?
Well, not that is any of my concern.
I patiently wait for Lillian to come out and she does after a while.
"Let's go back," I tell her and then we leave the hospital together.
"Your loud reaction wasn't actually needed at the moment." Lillian finally finds her voice and there come to her taunts.
"It was necessary," I told her firmly.
"It was a mistake and that's all." She says with a pout, the old Lillian is back.
Sigh.
"Still, the child could never be named as a mistake," I tell her, my emotions start to get high as I think about Ann, my father also used to mention her birth as a mistake.
"I hope you will respect my privacy, next time." She keeps bragging.
"Let's not dwell on this topic, Lillian," I tell her, dismissively and with one serious look from me, she closes her lips tight.
Great.
"Where have you brought me?" Lillian asks once I park the car outside of a lavish restaurant.
I want her to relax for a while instead of occupying herself with work and the office.
"We are having lunch," I announce as I step out of the car and she follows.
I hand the car keys to the person at the gate and then I and Lillian enters the restaurant. She orders very little, I can't blame her. I know she is still nervous and a little shaken up from the fact that she has slept with Ron.
She looks guilty too. I know why, her love for her ex-husband could never vanish from her heart. It's still there and her distressed face is the proof.
"Eat…" I bring her back from daze and finally she picks up the cutlery to eat her food.
I too start eating and finish my lunch more quickly as I stand up from the table.
"I need to leave, Lillian," I tell her and then look around for the person I have been waiting to show up.
And there, I spotted him.
"Where are you going?" Lillian questions, puzzled.
"I have started therapy, Lillian. Today's my second day. I can't be late." I inform her quickly and then after paying the bill, I head towards the person whom I had called here.
"Yes, Sir." Ron greets me politely and I look at him coldly, "Lillian is over there, go and sort out your problems." I tell him as though I am an older person than him.
"Uhmm… Problems?" He looks at me quizzically.
"I know what happened that night," I reveal and he looks at me in shock.
"Did Lillian…" He begins and I snap, "She doesn't remember anything. Go and tell her the truth of that night."
"Oh… Ok…" He looks in the direction of where Lillian is seated and then at me.
Nodding his head, he raises his foot to walk towards her while I hold his arm and pull him closer to me, "You're lucky I have done her checkup, just now." I whisper in his ear slowly, "And thankfully she isn't pregnant." I tell him in a dangerous tone and he shrinks a bit from my indirect threat to him.
"I didn't." He begins and I stop him mid-way, "GO."
I am not in the mood to listen about their s*x life at all. I walk out and before leaving the restaurant subconsciously I turn to see Lillian, She looks completely shocked and displeased by Ron's sudden appearance but I hope it will clear her mind that what happened that night wasn't her fault only.
I hand the parking token to the man at the gate and wait for my car patiently to arrive.
After a while, my car arrives in the parking lot and pays a good tip to the man I drive away.
I park my car a little far from the villa, I don't want to be noticed, and then walk towards Dr. Kavanagh's villa."
Today, instead of her granddaughter, she greets me at the door.
I think she has taken the hint of my disinterest in her efforts of seducing me, Thankfully.
I follow Dr. Kavanagh and again she has brought me to the same room, I sit on the same couch and then we start our session.
"Last time, you mentioned you have severe depression. Did you take any pills for that or take something at the moment?" Dr. Kavanagh asks between our small answers and questions therapy.
"Yes, I used to take anti-depressants, daily and later it cut out to the days when I start having nightmares in a row," I told her.
"Can you name which pills you used to take?" She asks.
I went blank from her question. I have no idea which pills I take, they are anti-depressants but I don't know what they are named on the box because Ann always hands me the pill and she never mentions the name.
"Uhmm… I have no idea."
She looks at me in disbelief and then soon she turns back to normal as she asks, "Who gives you the medicine? Your step-sister or any old servant? Or Nanny?" She asks.
"Ann, she handles all the things related to me," I answer her and I see a little frown between her brows.
She writes something and then stands up from her place. After opening multiple drawers she brings me a few tablets.
"Can you tell me if the one you take is similar to any of these?" She asks while placing the tablets neatly on the table.
I glance at the pills and then pick one that is the most similar to the one I take.
"It looks like this," I told her.
"This…" She looks at it thoughtfully and then asks, "How many do you take per day?"
"One, but recently Ann had started to hand me three in a row," I tell her and she looks a little stunned.
What? Did I give the wrong information to her?
Or is there something suspicious about those pills??
