Chapter 155 BUSINESS TRIP

ANDREW POV:

"Ann, there is something…" I begin and Ann stops me in the mid-way. "Not now, Andrew."

I shut my mouth immediately, I think I need to figure out Tessa's brother's medical bills by myself.

Silently, I head towards my car and head straight to my office.

"Ron, can you bring me the details of Cyril's medical expenses?" I ask Ron and he tilts his head slightly in response.

"You mean, Miss Tessa's brother?" He asks.

"Yes, and I would like to keep it confidential," I tell him meaningfully and he nods in understanding.

Whoosh…

Small relief I get in my heart.

I should probably start handling Tessa's family matters by myself after all now they are my responsibility too and Tessa loves them a lot. I wonder if she still loves them after knowing about our contract marriage.

F**k, this thought is too depressing.

"That's all," I ask Ron after I read Cyril's medical record. His transplant is already done and successful thankfully but he needs daily medication to keep his kidney stable. It takes a little time for the body to accept a new kidney.

So, I don't see his expenses to be too much. Just daily medicines and frequent visits to the doctor. I think I can manage that Ann doesn't need to pay for it. Thankfully, I am capable of such money.

Ron nods his head in response, "Yes, sir."

"Ok, Fine. Thank you for this information. I am going to make a cheque deposit for Cyril's medical expenses." I tell him as I take out my cheque book and swiftly make a cheque for Cyril's medical expenses.

"Uhmm… Sir… But… Miss Swan?" Ron hesitates to take the cheque and looks at me worriedly.

"Don't worry, I will talk to her. You just do what I am asking," I tell him and he nods, still looking hesitant.

I dismiss him and then call Lillian over, "Yes, Andy." She popped her head from the door, "Come inside," I commanded and she did.

"I want you to add an account for Cyril's medical expenses monthly," I tell her and she looks at me puzzled.

"Cyril?" She arches her brows in questioning.

"Tessa's brother," I explain and she nods her head, "Oh, is he sick?" She asks and I roll my eyes at her stupidity, I have just asked to add the account for his medical expenses.

These women…

"Yes, now don't ask me any further questions. I will ask Ron to hand over all his medical expenses bills to you to add to the accounts," I tell her, and nodding her head, she leaves my office.

When I was supposed to leave my office, Lillian entered my office uninvited, "Andy, Your sister has sent these flight details with tickets, we need to fly to Beijing." She informs me and I frown badly, "Beijing?"

"Yes, Mr. Maverick has been in talk with Mr. Lou and I think Ann needs us there so that he won't be able to lock the deal with them," Lillian says thoughtfully and I curse internally.

What the F**k???

I run my hands in my hair, completely irritated by those father and son duo, both are crack nuts.

"When are we going to leave?" I ask her.

"Tonight," She says and I let out a stressful sigh, ``What the hell?

"How many days?" I try to restrain my anger, "Three."

Double F**k

"Fine, I'll go and pack my things, you go and pack yours. I'll see you at the airport in an hour." I tell her dismissively as I rush out of the office.

I need to inform Tessy about my trip, I still remember the last time when I left her she looked so sad and scared. F**k, Tessy, I hope she won't cry this time.

***

As I enter the bedroom, I find it empty, I quickly take out my suitcase and start putting my clothes in it. I don't have much time.

Tessa enters a few moments after my arrival and looks at me confused, "Are we going somewhere?" She asks.

"No, I am going on a business trip," I informed her.

"Business trip? How many days?" She asks.

"Three, at most," I told her.

"Ok, I'll help you pack." She says like a good wife, making me shocked, no crying? No protest? Does it really not matter to her if I leave her? I feel a little disappointed too by her calm behavior.

She starts packing my clothes for three days while I take a quick shower and dress into something casual. With a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, I even grab a jacket. I don't have any idea about Beijing's weather at the moment.

"Done." She says with a light smile on her face as she closes my suitcase and then turns to face me.

"I'll be back soon," I tell her as I embrace her in my arms, somehow I too feel reluctant to leave her, we just had an amazing time together, and now this trip.

That's all because of that rich brat Aiden, I swear I am gonna give him a good lesson for sure.

She snuggles in my arms and I kiss her deeply. She tastes delicious as usual and somehow her warmth calms my nerves. When I pull away we both are breathless, I hope she remembers this kiss and the faint taste in her mouth would remind her of me at night.

"I will stay in contact, don't worry," I assure her and finally drag my tiring body out of the mansion.

I reach the airport with a dull face and Lillian notices it immediately, "It's ok, Andy. It's just three days." She says to cheer me up but I give her a stern look and she shuts her mouth.

We take a direct flight from Denver to Beijing. It's a 17 hours long flight and thankfully we are flying business as I stretch my body to relax my muscles. Lillian has been chatting all the time and I don't even hear a single word she said, my mind is all on Tessa.

Would she be missing me now? Or had fallen asleep peacefully?

Finally, Lillian falls asleep and gets quiet as I breathe a sigh of relief.

Closing my eyes, I keep thinking of Tessa all the time, I even dreamt of her. God, this woman is never going to leave me alone.

The plane landed and as soon as I stepped onto the ground, I took out my phone and texted Tessa. Lillian peeks and smirks, "Wow, someone has become a responsible husband, now."

I scowl and then text Ann about my arrival.

After settling into the hotel, I start texting Tessa and we both stay in touch continuously.

The next day, I and Lillian visits Mr. Lou's office, and guess who bumps into us, Mr. Marven, "Hello, Andrew, you're here too?" He looks surprised.

"Well, I can't let you enjoy Beijing alone after all," I say sarcastically as we both shake hands firmly.

He didn't get succeeded to bring Mr. Ambrose in with him so now he is after Mr. Lou. Day by day he is making more efforts to bring my partners to his side. Like hell, they would leave me like this.

Dream on, Mr. Marven.

This candy you won't be able to give your rich Brat because It's not for f**king sale.

"Oh, then let's see who enjoys Beijing's weather the most, I have heard a hurricane is going to hit the city soon." He says and I roll my eyes not giving any importance to his words.

"Now, if you would excuse us, Mr. Marven," I give him a tight smile and then walk away from him, Lillian following me closely.

"Mr. Lou," I greet Mr. Lou and then we start exchanging words in Chinese, another skill I have learned in my teens.

I presented him the new designs on which Tessa had been working for the last month and he likes them a lot, gladly.

I know Tessa has a talent.

F**k, I feel like my chest has widened from pride when he praises the new designs and likes them immediately. Lillian gives me a mocking look when she sees the shine in my eyes.

F**k off, Lillian.

"So… Wanna get something for your wife??" Lillian asks once we step out of Mr. Lou's office.

"Why?" I ask her absentmindedly.

"She just saved one of our partners from splitting up. Won't you give her a thank you gift?" She explained and I frowned, a gift?

Tessa rarely asks for anything but still taking her advice into consideration, I text Tessa asking her if she wants something from here but she as usual amused me by typing, "YOU"

Yeah, she wants me, only not any gift.

But, still, I would look for something for her as a gift. After all, she has earned it from her hard work.

I and Lillian decides to do the shopping and then went hunting for a suitable gift for my wife.

*****

"This one," I pick a leather handbag for Tessa and Lillian gapes at the prize, "Let's buy for you one, too," I tell her as I close her gaping mouth, and then she starts picking one handbag for herself.

I wanted to pick something different for Tessa but as Lillian sticks with me all the time, except a handbag I couldn't think of any suitable thing to gift Tessa.

I just hope she would like my present.
