Chapter 148 BUSY DAYS

ANDREW POV:

When I reach our room Tessa isn't present but I hear the noises from the washroom indicating she is inside. I sit on the bed waiting for her calmly and after a while, she walks out of the washroom making an angry face.

"Tessy, are you ok?" I ask even when deep inside I know she isn't.

"No, Andrew I am not. I don't want to follow this ridiculous diet… I am going to tell Ann that we are not planning a child at the moment and she should stop torturing us like this."

Ok, she is furiously mad at the moment. There is no point in arguing or bickering as I sit beside her and then said, ``If you think by doing this she will stop everything, then go ahead please…" I gesture towards the door for her to leave.

She has the right to fight for herself even if I can't help her.

"Hubby… I am feeling so pathetic…" She holds my arm and starts crying, sighing, I hold her hand and comfort her, "It's ok, Tessy. I can understand… Just bear this for some time." After a moment, she pulls her head away thanking me.

"For what?" I ask, surprised.

"For being such an understanding husband… I said a lot before and also tried to create a scene at the dinner table…" She accepts her mistakes and that makes me sink more in guilt, Oh Tessy, you have no idea about anything around you at all.

I feel pathetic for being so bad to Tessa, she deserves all the good things and I am not giving her any good at all.

"This is enough, Ann. I don't want any of this." I slap her hand away and all the pills fall from her hand to the ground.

SCATTER

Yeah, she thinks something is wrong with me and I need three pills at once, like seriously. Only, now I have started to see how much controlling Ann has become, and all thanks to my dear wife, Tessa.

Because of her, I am able to see many things clearly now.

Ann looks at me with hurt and shock in her eyes, maybe I am loud but I don't care I have to stop her or it might get too late.

"You have never raised your voice on me and neither have you refused me before," She murmured to herself looking lost as her eyes kept moving from right to left on the ground where the pills landed, not looking at my face at all.

"Ann, you have to stop controlling others' lives, You have no right to take away mine and Tessa's happiness," I told her firmly and then walked out of her room in anger. I could hear her sobbing behind me but I didn't halt my steps and kept walking away until I reached my room where my beautiful wife is sleeping.

I can't fight Ann but at least I can refuse her unnecessary demands over me and Tessa.

"Not a horror one," I question Tessa with a raised brow. She has been insisting on watching a movie and as today is the weekend, we have decided to watch a romantic movie while I keep teasing her with horror movies.

I remembered clearly the first time when we had watched the movie and she got so frightened because of it.

"Hubby, don't tease me. Should I cook something for us??" She asks, raising her brow and I don't know if it's a good idea as I shake my head and refuse her politely, "We'll get some popcorn and drinks, what do you say?"

"As you like, Hubby," She is as always my little obedient wife and I smile as I pull her for a brief kiss that got interrupted by a knock on our door.

KNOCK … KNOCK …

"Miss Swan is calling for Sir Andrew," Miss Celine informs and I look at Tessa in hesitation, "Go, I'll wait for you." She says understanding my worries and I smile back in relief as I start following Miss Celine out.

Ann has called me to her art room. Yes, Ann has a lovely room on her floor that is decorated with multiple fine art pieces. Ann is an art lover, she loves buying expensive antique art.

"Andrew," When I enter the room, Ann's lips curl into a wide smile as she looks at me with pleasing eyes and then pats the place beside her.

Since, I had refused to take pills Ann and I had been on cold terms, not talking to each other at all, just polite greetings and that's it.

"Ann," I smile back as I take the place beside her on an antique wooden sofa at which she is seated at the moment.

"A friend of mine brought these white tea herbs from Fujian, I wanted you to have a drink with me. It's very relaxing." Ann says politely and I nod my head.

As I pick up the cup and take the first sip, I start coughing violently.

COUGH … COUGH …

"What's wrong?" Ann asks, looking at me with concerned eyes.

"Nothing, Ann. It tastes very bitter." I tell her and she rolls her eyes, "Andrew, you are not a kid anymore complaining about the bitterness, but that's fine. I'll ask Miss Celine to bring the cake."

Saying this, she picks up the phone and calls Miss Celine, "Bring cake for Andrew."

She orders and when she ends the call, I inform her hesitantly, "Ann, I won't be staying for long, Tessa is waiting for me."

"Tessa? Any special reason, dear?" Ann asks politely with a gentle smile on her face.

"Nothing special, we are just watching a movie tonight," I told her excitedly and I thought she would just nod her head dismissing it but no, instead she started asking me about the movies which Tessa would prefer to watch and after that our conversation starts to get longer and soon I forget about the time as we both indulge into more topics rather than movies.

By the time, I return to my room. Tessa has fallen asleep. F**k, I couldn't leave Ann after such a long time. We were having such a good conversation but I can't even let Tessa down.

Sigh.

I don't know why God always puts me into such miserable situations.

I hug Tessa and then fall asleep pretty quickly, since I have refused to take pills I am feeling better and good. Thankfully, I didn't get any nightmares yet.

"I am sorry, I got busy last night." The first thing I did in the morning was to apologize to Tessa for my disappearance last night. She must be waiting for me.

"Oh, Hubby, that's completely fine, we can watch it later." She replies calmly and I smile in relief. "Thanks, Tessy." I peck her quickly as we head to the breakfast table together happily.

****

"No, F**king way," I growl unhappily.

The Marven has stolen one of our big clients and I am so angry that I want to burn his office, what the f**k? I had put all my focus on our new shipments and also our new designs but I didn't know that he would simply steal our biggest client instead of the shipments.

When there is no client, what am I supposed to make and sell to whom???

"Lillian, get my meeting fixed with Mr. Ambrose, and also don't lose your focus on the shipments, I want them to reach the store safely." I quickly remind her, this must be a divergence. We don't know anything yet.

With a dull mood, I return to my home to my wife, Tessa. Ann knows everything that happened today and after dinner, she called me over to her study so that we could discuss the possible solution to our problem.

I appreciate her effort, she serves me the same white tea again and this time it's less bitter.

Ann is far more clever in business than me and her advice works a lot. So, I always listen to her. Actually, I have always listened to her in everything until Tessa comes into my life and my opinion starts to change.

Days passed by, and my and Tessa's movie night day seems to get pushed away further and further as I started spending the most time at home with Ann sipping the white tea and having brief discussions about work.

Ann is able to talk with Mr. Ambrose with me and thankfully he has assured us that he won't drop our sale, hence he has decided to put Mr. Maverick's designs in his store, which makes me completely shocked.

When did he start the jewel designing business, how did his useless son get the time for jewels? I don't think he will ever leave the gym. Bloody rich spoiled kid.

Coming after my business as though it's a candy shop.

Such a moron, I feel glad that Tessa had taught him a great lesson last time.

One more reason for me to like Tessa and adore her.

"Andrew, I am leaving for dinner, perhaps you and Tessa should watch a movie together tonight," Ann says as we are heading home.

Today, Ann came over to pick me up and I am astonished by her sweet gesture.

"Here," Ann hands me a small bag and I look at her puzzled, "This is for Tessa." She says and I nod in gratitude.

When we reached home, the car stopped and Ann suddenly held my hand with her eyes looking anxiously at me, "Andrew, there is something that I haven't told you." she says and I ask nervously, "About what Ann?"

"It's about Mona," She says and my heart drops in an instant.

Mona???
