"Oh, my god there he is I have to go" I grab my water bottle but Jules stops me
"Nope you're not running off again. I feel like you use that guy as an excuse to not work out with me"
"Jules I can't be seen in the same room as him, I won't focus on anything you know that"
"I wish you could grow some balls and finally talk to him. I don't even like going to the gym but I come here for you, and this is a gay gym which is not beneficial to me at all because all the hot guys here are gay as fuck but I still come with you because I care, now suck it up and go say something"
I think about it for a second "Maybe next time" and I bail.
Before I get further into this story you should get to know me a little bit. I'm Crim and I've been in love with this guy name Spencer from the gym since the first day we met and he asked to spot me. I'll give you a little flashback on how it went
Me pretending I bench press to impress other guys, I barely had 50 pounds on the stupid thing and I couldn't lift it. Here comes Spencer
McDreamy standing over me with a smile I'd kill for and a body I only see on guys on tv. He says "need some help?" and of course I couldn't pass up on that opportunity so I say yes. Then he says "I'm Spencer" as he hovers over me making it hard to not focus on his man meat literally 10 inches away from my face. I introduced myself and he went on "are you new here? I don't see you around much" I've had a membership longer than him I just don't come to the gym. After spotting me for what seemed like the longest 20 minutes of my life he went back to his arm work and I ran home like an idiot.
That happened like 2 months ago. It's been a whole 2 months and I still can't get this guy out of my mind. Now I go to the gym like twice a week and as soon as he shows up I always leave, like I'm doing right now. As I'm running to the exit I run into my friend Kim who works at the gym "Spencer's here already?" she asks laughing by how much I was rushing
"Don't mock me Kim"
She laughs some more "you know Crim I can get you his phone number if you want" "Can you do that?"
"Probably not that'd be illegal but who gives a shit. Come to my office we can look at his file" she pulls me along with her, I love Kim she gets me.
We walk into Kim's office "this is ok right?" I ask scared we'd get caught
"Not at all" she smiles then turns her computer on "Ok so there are 28 Spencer's" damn it "but thank god we take their pictures" I smile at her and she smiles back "ok do you see him?" she asks pulling up the pictures
"That's him!" I point to his picture and she clicks on it
She scrolls down his file "ok his last name is Wyatt and there's his phone number" this feels wrong but also very right
I take his number down "Kim you amazing being you!" I kiss her on the cheek and she laughs "I'll see you later ok"
"Don't be the creep that calls and hangs up alright" she says as I open the door
"I'll try not to be" I shut the door behind me and rush to my car. Can't believe I actually have his phone number, and his last name. First thing I'm doing when I get home is looking him up on Facebook and Instagram.
"I'd kick your ass if I didn't love you" Jules walks into my apartment as I sit on the couch scrolling down Spencer's timeline
"I love you too Jules, now shush and get over here" I reply and she quickly sits next to me "ok so I found Spencer on Facebook and
Instagram and I'm pretty sure I'm more in love with him now than when I started" "What'd you find out?"
"Ok so he's from Indiana, he's 26, he lives like 30 minutes away and he's a freaking nurse" I smile " a nurse Jules like imagine that big hunk of beautifulness in scrubs"
"He is good looking. Oh I have an idea!" she gets excited "What?"
"Why don't I break all your limbs and take you to the hospital and he can take care of you" "I sometimes forget that you're completely insane"
"Sorry for trying to help" she gets up and walks to the kitchen "so what's the plan exactly? Are you gonna message him or?"
"Hell no, I'll look like a creep"
"Yeah because scrolling down his pictures and timeline isn't creepy at all" she replies sarcastically. "Message him," Jules says as she sits back down next to me drinking my beer "if you don't Crim I will"
"I have a process" "Which is?"
"First we talk"
"Check, you guys spoke already" "Next we talk again"
"Yeah message him"
"I mean face to face"
"that's probably not gonna happen since you run away every time he comes in" "I'm just building up courage"
She rolls her eyes "What's the next step?"
"I ask him for some workout tips" "Then you message him?"
I smile "then I message him" I hope this works.
"Ok so when we go to the gym this weekend if he shows up you can't run, you have to talk to him and if you don't I swear I will" she's not kidding
"Alright I'll try" "No, you will!"
"Geez you're pushy" she smiles then chugs the rest of her beer.
It's already Saturday and I freak out as Jules and I exit my car "chill Crim, you got this"
"You're right I got this" if only that were true. We walk in and I don't spot him "so far so good," I say as we walk to the treadmills. Staying chill because I know I can do this, I mean it can't be that hard he's just a guy, right? He walks in "I can't do this" I quickly change my mind stepping off the treadmills
"Nope, you are not running!" Jules pulls me back "now go say something before I do" she pushes me I slowly walk towards him as he set his things down and plug in his earbuds, I'm gonna throw up. I
stand behind him afraid to say a word. I have to say something sooner or later but I choose later so I
turn to walk away "hey" he says and I stop. I'm afraid to turn around "you weren't going to say anything?"
"I- I- umm I" I open my mouth but the words just won't come out
"I remember you" his smile makes me want to do things "I don't remember your name but I remember your face" he laughs
"Crim" I manage to get out
"Oh yeah" he puts his hand out "I'm Spencer" oh I know!
"Ok great to meet you" I quickly shake his hand and speed away. "Well that was a complete failure" I walk back to Jules saying
"What are you talking about that went great" she smiles
"Which part? The one where I could barely say two words, or the one where I practically ran away"
I'm helpless
"Well at least phase two is done"
"Yeah all I have to do now is ask him for some workout tips" "Great go back over there and kill two birds with one stone"
"Did you miss what just happened 2 minutes ago? I can't go back over there"
