Chapter 140

Prejudice separated everyone. False beliefs that were once true circled around the four Kingdoms.
Envy became the number one reason of everyone's dark persona. Smarts and gifts were used in a wrong manner and evil became stronger. They were blinded by the power. They were blinded by the dark past.
And one envious God decided to take advantage of it. But his love for the lost phoenix was greater. He let go of his fantasy and accepted his dark faith of death.
"I wonder what's beyond that thin line," Miracle asked. She put the handful of cherries in her mouth while staring at the visible border in front of her. She thought that the borders were already one. But why is that border still there? What is it trying to divide? "Do you know?" She asked the thin guy beside him. His legs were almost as thin as his arms. He's basically a stick with a face.
"Why do you keep asking me things that I don't know?" Ji-run asked her. The latter scoffed and followed her gaze. It's the border again in his mind. When will his playmate stop staring at it and play with him? He's so bored. "I'd rather leave." He was about to stand up, but the small little girls hand pinned him on his seat. She's extremely strong for her size. Well, he's not surprised.
A phoenix and pure dragon are no joke.
"Tell me what you know first. You like to read right?" she said with a hint of desperation in her voice. This is not the first time the little girl asked him about the border. "I'll give you something in return. Tell me what you know." Ji-run can't believe he became friends with this curious girl.
"Do I look like Mapheus? I don't know anything. How about you ask you oh-ma and oh-da? They're literally the most powerful couple in Vortaxia. How can you ask a naive little boy like me?" he slurred. Miracle furrowed her brows. She looked like she didn't like what Ji-run just said.
"Naive?" she scoffed. "Oh, shut up. Tell me now before I toast you like a chicken in a stick."
"I told you already that I don't know. Why are you being so annoying right now, Miracle?"
"Because I know that you know something and you're just not telling me," she replied and pouted her lips in a huffing manner. The little boy heaved a deep sigh. He genuinely don't know where that border leads to. All he knows is that a border is there for a reason. And it is now his mission to find out why even if he's not really interested.
"I really don't know. But I'll try finding out myself. You're really annoying, you know?" he slurred. Miracle's ears started clapping. She likes what she just heard. Ji-run will help her find the reason behind that border.
It is easy to ask her parents about it, but it's never easy to get an answer from them. That's how thet protect her she's fully aware of that. But that will not stop her on learning from all her curiosity. The little girl looked at the thin border again. It's so easy to cross in her mind.
"These cherries are delicious!"
The two curious explorers went back to the castle with messy clothes. Golden scolded Miracle for playing out without her knowledge. The latter said her sorry, but is always ready to repeat the same mistake again and again like what he always do.
Travis and Cecilia were so happy to see their son who played with Miracle all day.
"What did I tell you?" Golden asked in a strict voice. Miracle pouted her lips in a guilty manner. She's fully aware of the consequences of what she did, but she still did what she did.
"I knew you'd not let me play outside, oh-ma. You know how curious I am. I already asked everything in this castle. I need new entertainment. I can't be amazed at the same over and over again."
"You are not allowed to go outside and that's final."
"But oh-ma. I am n—" Golden cut her daughter off.
"Final."
The little girl crossed her arms. This is not the first time Golden raised a voice to her and she already knows she's not going to follow her anyways.
It is dark already. Miracle is sure that her oh-ma and oh-da are sleeping soundly in the room. She has a chance to leave and go to the nearest meeting place. "You look a little weird. Did you escape again?" Ji-run asked his childhood friend.
Miracle frantically put her index finger on her lips to tell him to keep quiet. Ji-run scoffed in the corner and pretended to shut his mouth using his hand. "I'm going to die tolerating all these actions from you." The little girl remained silent and shut him off by putting his finger on his lips. "Hmmmpp!" he said.
I don't understand.
The two started walking to the said border. They were curious about the shape of their world. If Earth is sphere then what is Vortaxia?
They happened to accidentally see the thin border.
It took them two hours to finally reached their destination. Located in the farthest part of Vortaxia. What is this thin line for? But her vision of a magical entrance vanished when she saw a human looking person in the dirt. He is covered with mud and is wearing a camouflage clothing. What a strange print.
"D—Don't go near him!" Ji-run blurted and tried to pulled her arm, but she didn't listen to him and continue walking to the human. "Miracle!"
The little girl's mind is curious. Who is this guy? Why is Ji-run trying to stop her from approaching him?
"H—Hello?" she called to the unconscious man. He didn't move an inch. Is he dead?
"Don't! He's a human. A human!"
Miracle's brows arched. A human he said. The man on the ground is a human? A human. What is a human? Is that a new race?
"We're not allowed to talk to human, Miracle. Come back here!" he blurted. She turned her head to look at her scared friend and back to the unconscious man. Humans are not allowed to talk to Vortans just like how it was before in Vortaxia. Borders haven't completely removed. There's still one left world that needs a bridge.
"I will end these borders."
