Chapter 122

Golden's POV

Getting Freeda to talk wasn't an easy task. Damon and I had to stay with him for long because she keeps on passing out. She couldn't contain the heaviness of her heart anymore that she decided to fall apart like the flowers of a magnolia plant.

"Do you think it'll be okay to leave her on there?" I asked with a hint of worry in my voice.

I still can't get enough of the side I saw to her today. She seemed to be so frustrated and scared about the outcomes of the things she did. I had the same feeling when I decided to moved out of my foster parent's house. I was so afraid that I might fail to feed and buy myself a shelter and that I'd have to crawl back to them. But I'm glad I didn't have to experience that.

"You seemed to know exactly how she feels," he commented out of the blue. I looked up to him. Damon is standing in front of me wearing his usual pokerface look. I smiled.

He must have heard what I was thinking.

"You didn't tell me much about where you came from. All I know is that you're a lady living in a shared apartment with a liberated girl. You know a lot about me already. I wish it's the same to me."

Sadness crossed his eyes swiftly. I wanted to say that it's nothing and he shouldn't worry about it, but y'all know he can read my mind right? He'd know I'll be lying if I do that. He heaved a sigh making me feel anxious if he's hearing my thought right now. Please, no.

"I'm not going to force you to say it if you don't feel like doing so. I can only hear your thoughts when you're relaxed. Don't worry. I am not like Gab," he said in a low voice and started walking away. I reluctantly followed him from behind.

We promised to help Freeda with Josh and Steve. She clearly told us to not do anything and just let her sort things out now.

She mentioned important clues while she was crying her out earlier. She was the one who tried to sabotage the private parsenation ceremony we had on God Hlaford's office. She was also the one who stole God Gaviel's bludgeon. I tried to confront her about it, but she said that she didn't do anything to get the bludgeon. It wasn't guarded and the magic gems weren't able to track her for some reason. It was like as if her only job was to get the bludgeon. That's it.

She's just one of the jigsaw puzzle pieces, but at least, we're a few steps closer to the real culprit.

Two days have passed already and I think it's the perfect time to apologize my dear friend.

We haven't been talking. I missed her already and I hope she's the same to me. Damon told me that Gab said to him that Elaine missed me so much already and that she wanted to apologize, but can't bring herself to. I guess, I will be the one to do it. I started the fight anyway. I was insensitive of what was happening and chose a side. I should have been more understanding.

I picked up fresh flowers from the garden. Bubbles helped me find the rare and beautiful ones. There's even a rainbow flower in here that turns black when you blow on it.

"H—Hey!" I greeted hesitantly to her when she finally opened the door after a few knocks from me.

Elaine's slanted eyes grew big. Her gaze went down to the bouquet of colorful flowers I have in my hands. Her face brightens after seeing them. I knew she'd like them. That makes her a real chosen with a gift of plant manipulation.

"Are those flowers for me?" she asked sweetly. I gently nodded my head. My brows arched when she suddenly extended her hand to me and pulled me inside their room. "I'm so happy that you're here! I missed you so much. Can we promised to each other that we'll never fight again? I'm like really bored for the past few days and I've been thinking about you. I'm really sorry, Golden."

I smiled while listening to her talk. Two days felt like years. It almost feels like the last time I heard someone talk so fast and cheerful was a few years ago.

"Sure thing. I'm sorry too."

I pouted my lips when she tapped my cheeks gently like as if telling me that it's okay and I don't have to worry about it. She inserted her hand in her pockets and pulled put a small box. I looked at her confusedly.

"What is that?" I asked.

Elaine's eyes twinkled. "I made these! Actually, the plants helped me make this, but majority of the plan was on me, so I guess I can say I made it?" she replied with a hint of uncertainty in her voice. I chuckled softly while still staring at the box. It has cute flowers print on the sides. Reminds me of the flowers I used to put on my wrist as a bracelet.

She opens the box in front of me. "A santan plant!" I gasped. It's a bracelet with interconnected santan flowers. This is so nostalgic. I didn't know they have it here in america. I mean look at that! It's an asian plant.

"It's actually called Ixora, but also known as santan. I was so surprised to see it here in Vortaxia because according to books, you can only see them in tropical asia. I'm glad we have it though," she explained like an expert and show me the organic bracelet. "I dried them, so it will stay fresh forever. It's a very interesting plant for me and same goes with how I feel about you. I'm really sorry again and I hope this bracelet could be the token of our friendship."

I smiled when I saw her eyes flashing the light of the day outside their bedchamber's window. I chuckled softly and wiped the tear crossing her cheeks unannounced.

"You gave me a token already. Have you forgotten that?" I said amusedly. She pouted her lips like she's trying to remember the thing she gave me. Her poor memory makes her so cute. "But of course, we can have a thousand tokens to prove our friendship. I love you, Elaine!" I chirped and pulled her into a tight embrace which she gladly paid back with a tight hug too.

I'm happy that we're cool now.

"Looking a little less stressed today?" Travis commented. I smiled when I received a popsicle from Cecilia. This girl and I are really okay now. We talked not so long ago.

I'm happy that everything's going fine with me and the other people I misunderstood before.

I'm really happy.

"Well, do you remember the girl best friend I have here in Spheria?" I asked. He glanced at me.

"Oh, the one with green hair?" he replied.

I nodded my head. "Yeah, we fought for two days ago and we just made up. She gave me another token," I told them. Cecilia raised both of her brows.

"I think I remember her on the first day. She's the parsen of the guy who threatened to disclose my secrets. He tricked me real good, huh?" she scoffed. I chuckled softly while watching the training chosens on the field. It feels nice to just sit here and watch them learn from our superiors. Sooner or later. They'd be real protectors of our Kingdom soon.

"How is it going with Damon?"

This is the first time that Travis opened up a topic about him again. He always try to not get himself involved in our relationship because of our past.

I know that he liked me.

"He's a good guy. Still jealous like a kid, but he's doing really good in handling our relationship. He's my parsen for a reason."

Cecilia and Travis glanced at each other. It's like as if they have something to ask me, but can't bring themselves to.

"I—I'm sorry to ask this, but is it true that Freeda is not Steve's true parsen?" Travis asked making my brows arched.

How did they know that?

"And that his real parsen is dead?"

"W—Wait how'd you all know that?" I asked confusedly. She looked at Travis.

"She came back to their room to admit it herself to him."

W—What!
