Chapter 93

My head is spinning. Just woke up from sleep. I don't even know how I ended up sleeping after what happened. It must be Damon. He'd rather put me to sleep than let me think a thousand thoughts.
Speaking of Damon. I haven't seen him yet. Bubbles escorted to the gathering hall. She said that one of the Gods has an announcement to make.
The inside of the castle looks very different. It feels emptier now that God Hlaford is gone too.
The windows are blocked by woods. All the doors are closed including the small entrance in the secret garden. God Columbus did his best together with the other Gods and Goddesses to handle the situation well.
I wonder why they summon us?
"Hey," a deep voice called. I smiled when I saw him walking towards me.
"Hey Steve."
"You look awful," he commented jokingly. I sheepishly tucked my hair and smile. He's right. I haven't been fixing myself since the incident. The dirt on my face is still somewhere there. "Just kidding. Where's your boyfie?" he asked and look around.
"He went somewhere. I don't know I just woke up alone in the room."
He nodded his head. Steve and I did our talking while crossing the hall to the gathering hall. Some Chosens are crying as they walk past us. I can't hear to see them this miserable. I wish I could help.
"This is what exactly my Nana told me." I glanced at the girl speaking beside me. "There used to be a serpent that was destined to kill the prophecy's child. It was petrified, but Nana told me that it will come back to do what it has to do," she said. My brows arched. She knows about the serpent?
"Excuse me?" I said that caught her attention. Her eyes widened when she realizes who I was.
"Mother of pearl!" she exclaimed. My eyes brew big when she started shaking aggressively.
"Grrrrhgrhhhhhgrhhh"
The sound she's making is scaring the hell out of me. I nervously looked at the girl she was talking to earlier. She's staring at me and with glowing eyes like she just seen an amazing Vortan before her.
"H—Hey? Is your friend okay? She's shaking so much!" I blurted. She's still staring at me. I snapped my fingers in front of her and she went back to her senses.
"Huh?" she muttered.
"Y—Your friend! Is she okay?"
"O—Oh! Yeah she is. She's just very excited. Oh my gosh! I can't believe I'll meet you someday. It's my greatest pleasure to see you in person, Golden!" she said cheerfully. I smiled when she took my hand and bowed.
Hehe
Okay?
"O—O—Oh my gosh!!!!!" The girl stopped vibrating and looked at me. Her pupils are so dilated like it's going to pop. "You're so pretty in person, Golden. Will you please sign this for me?" she chirped and grab a small notebook in her bag.
I glanced at Steve who looks very amused right now. He's wiggling his brows like as if he's telling me to hurry up and sign the notebook.
I took her pen and sign it. This is not a good time for this fan thingy, but I'll give this to her. She has the positive heart inside of her. I looked at her bright smile. Not everyone can do that after witnessing what happened earlier. She's strong.
"Thank you very much!" she chirped again.
My eyes landed on her bag. It has a keychain that says Joana. I think that's her name. My brows arched when she started glancing around like as if she's looking for someone.
"But where is Damon?"
She pouted. Her notebook has a space for Damon's signature, but he's not here to fill it in.
"I'm here," he said. Damon took the notebook from her and sign it. Joana looks like she's about to shake like a vibrating phone again. "Here." I smiled when he gave back the pen to her. He glanced at Steve. Oh, no.
"Hey," Steve greeted. My parsen didn't answer and just went straight beside me. He grabs my waist and escorted me inside. I tried to look back at Steve, but Damon stopped me.
"Don't you dare."
He's so jealous. I just did what he said and walk with him. He isn't talking, so I decided to break the silence.
"Where were you?" I asked. He sighed and look at me. His green eyes look very tired. What did he do?
"I went to Fiscio." My brows arched. He did? "I was going to ask for help on how we can find God Hlaford, but she blamed us," he said in an exhausted voice. I reached for his back to pat it slightly. Why would she do that? She has always been a diva, but how is God Hlaford's abduction our fault?
"Maybe she's just frustrated too? Hlaford is not just anyone. He's the God of Spheria. She must have been upset when she heard about," I replied. I'm trying to comfort him with it, but his face remained tired like someone had drained him till his last drop.
"She said that if we just let them took God Gaviel's bludgeon, everything would have been better. It's bound to happen and we're stupid to change the destiny. Now, everything is going wrong because we messed it all up." He frustratingly combed his hair with his fingers and sighed.
Fiscio said that? That's so irresponsible. Her words are trusted and respected by everyone, but this is just not right. She's telling us to let them take God Gaviel's bludgeon. It's like telling us to watch Vortaxia get destroyed. Is she on her right mind?
"You don't believe her, right?"
Damon looked at me using his green eyes. His strong features soften when he saw my face.
"Of course," he replied. I smiled when he kissed my forehead.
We immediately find ourselves seats when we arrived at the gathering hall. Everyone is here already and so are the Gods and Goddesses. They've got long faces and I think I already know what they're about to say.
"Vestacios Chosen," God Columbus greeted. His voice sounds so low and gloomy. You can really tell that he's about to say something bad. "All of you witnessed what happened to out dear God Hlaford." He looks at the wave of Chosens listening to him as he speak.
"The attack was unexpected and guards were put off duty to mourn for God Diante's death. They took it as opportunity to cause chaos. We have no power to search for him. Even Mapheus can't for his aura is dead," he said in a low voice. I stared at my feet sadly. Where could he be?
"We will build a Legion Force to fight against evil. For those of you who are willing to defend and protect our Kingdom. Stand."
My ears twitched from his announcement. God Hlaford made it clear that he will never let the Chosens fight whatever happens. I'm sure that he will not like this.
"But we're not trained!" a guy from the crowd yelled. God Columbus nodded his head and smile.
"We are here to teach you. So, don't you worry. I am the God of Armed Force. No legion can get through without my lead," he replied.
I lifted my head to look at Damon. He also doesn't like this idea. My heart wants to tell them to stop, but I know that this is the best choice we have right now. The only way we can protect ourselves is if we fight them.
The enemies did their worst move by abducting the most powerful Chosen in our Kingdom. We might as well combine as one and fight them.
This is just the beginning.
