Chapter 92

My entire body pounded from the loud explosion I heard. Damon immediately covered me with his body. The dying screams of the Chosens rang my ears. What is happening?
I peaked in between his arms and my eyes widened when I saw a big man made of rocks. Its entire body is covered with cracks of soil and dirt. I gasped when he lifted the unconscious God of Spheria with his big hand.
"NO!" I screamed. Damon held me tightly when I tried to get up. I looked at him. "Hlaford needs our help!" He shook his head.
"We can't help him. Can't you see those things?" he said frantically and look at the sky. I followed his gaze and my lips parted when I saw big insects flying around and attacking my fellow Chosens. What the hell is happening?
"We have to go!" Elaine yelled. She's running to us while Gab is clearing heir path. Damon lifted me up and went to run with them. His right hand is tightly wrapped around my wrist. I'm running, but my head's on God Hlaford.
The big rocked man put Hlaford inside a sack and left.
He used the bomb to stunned the Gods and Goddesses. The large insects are used to distract the Chosens. This is planned. He made sure that we're all gathered in here and mourning for God Diante's death. Is it possible that he's the one who killed Diante?
"Hah! Yah!"
"AHHHHHH!"
"Let go of me!"
Various screams rang my ears as we made our way to the castle. The guards started to form in groups and save the Chosens. We're not ready for this. They're not trained enough to fight.
"EVERYONE GET INSIDE THE CASTLE!" Axel said using his loud voice. His gift helped the other Chosens run to the right path. The guards are restraining the insects with their fire manipulation gift.
This is not right. The big man who took Hlaford escaped successfully. What will he do to him?!
******
"What was that?" Elaine broke the silence. I yielded a sigh and shook my head. We don't know. It happened so fast.
We're now inside the castle. The situation put us on an emergency alert and the windows and doors are forced to closed. I'm still bothered about the fact that our God was abducted. We can't just sit here and do nothing.
"A-Aw! Baby," he groans. I snapped out of my thought and look at Damon. He's touching his wound. My eyes widened when I realized that I was in the middle of cleaning his open wound. A small stick of metal strucked him and I didn't even know until we came here.
"I'm sorry!" I chirped. He sighed. I was going to put the ointment again, but he refused to give me his arm. I looked at him apologetically.
"I told you to not overthink," he scolded. His eyes are full of concern and sadness. I know that deep inside, he's worried to. He just doesn't want me to get sick thinking about it.
"How can I not? God Hlaford was taken by an unknown entity. We don't even know where he took him. Why he took him. This is getting worse everyday," I cried. My eyes weren't able to hold the tears I've been saving for my sleep. I just can't.
There's so much going on. First, we had my only family, Aluncina, as one of the culprit. Second, Diante was killed. Now, God Hlaford was abducted. All of these started from God Gaviel's lost bludgeon.
Why are they so worked up in taking that? To the point that they're willing to do reckless chaos like this?
I gasped softly when I suddenly felt sleepy. It feels like someone is putting me to sleep with a beautiful lullaby. What is happening to me?
My eyelids feel heavy. I'm really going to pass out—
And everything went black.
Damon's POV
I groaned when she fell down the floor. She accidentally hit my wound, but it's okay. I lifted my head to look at Gab. This is all his doing. I asked him earlier if he can put Golden to sleep once she starts overthinking.
I know her so well. She does impulsive decisions when she's being pressured by her emotions. She'd literally run her ass in the middle of the attack earlier if I didn't stopped her.
"Thanks, man." He just nodded his head and went to grab Elaine. She's injured on her ankle too. I'm glad that Golden isn't.
I released a deep sigh when they finally left the room. Now, it's just me and Golden. She's still laying in my arms, so I decided to carry her and put her on the bed.
Putting her to sleep is better than leaving her overthinking stuffs.
I am very worried too, but I can't afford to do unplanned decisions like the monster earlier. The guards are still fighting them outside. It's not difficult to eliminate them, but they're a lot. One spray of fire gas and they'll die.
My arm hurts from the metal that pricked my flesh. It came from the explosion. I'm glad that I was fast enough to cover Golden. She would have gotten hit.
I'm not sure on what will be the next step. The Gods and Goddesses are now in the main office and discussing what happened. I'm certain that they're on for war just to save God Hlaford. That's not right though. It will put every Chosens life in danger. Even the one's who has nothing to do with this. I can't afford to bring chaos in their lives.
I only know one Vortan who can help me.
Fiscio
******
My right arm is still swollen, but that didn't stop me from taking the shortcut to Fiscio's home. I didn't bother waking up Golden. What she needs is rest. She needs to relax her whole being. That's how she can process everything way better.
"Fiscio!" I called on the surface. It's almost dark. The water is reflect me very well. "I know you can hear me so get out of your comfort zone. I have something to ask," I added. This is not the proper way to talk to her, but it's not like I have a choice.
No God will give me the magic been to breathe underwater and find her. She has to come here herself. I don't know if it will work, but I hope it does because I don't have the body to summon her out of the river.
"You're a loud for a guy," a female voice slurred. I turned my body and Fiscio greeted me. She's wearing her infamous blank face. "What do you want, Chosen?" she asked.
I'm not expecting her to actually come out and meet me. I guess all my callings were effective anyway.
"I need your help," I told her. She smirked and sat on the rock.
"That's the only reason for you to come here." She smiled sarcastically. "Tell me now quick!"
"Diante died."
Her eyes widened.
"God Hlaford was abducted."
She gasped.
"It's all shit now and I want you to give me a clue. We have to help them Fiscio. This is getting more serious—" She cut me off.
"Isn't that what you want? You asked for it," she replied. My brows furrowed. What the hell is she talking about? "You should have just given them God Gaviel's bludgeon. You dared to test them and now they're giving you what they can give." She played with her hair. I looked at her with my face all frowned and crumpled.
Did she actually say that?
"You shouldn't be saying that. You're the juggen fish that gives advices to the Gods and Goddesses of Spheria. How can you say such a stupid thing?" I asked.
Her smirked faded. She glared at me.
"Truth is stupid, Damon. And that's what Vortans like you can't understand. God Gaviel's bludgeon was destined to be taken, but you choose to change it and messed the destiny. That's why everyone's dying!" she blurted.
What?
