Chapter 55

This is the time. I managed to make Damon come with me and pay the god of Spheria a visit. It was not an easy persuation but we are headed to God Hlaford's chamber anyway.
"You know that we don't have to do this right?" he whispers. My face crumpled immediately. I frowned at him.
"What do you mean we don't have to do this? We're meant to do this," I answered. His face falls. He looked like he just realized what he said to me.
"No, I mean... Not now. Soon? When you're ready?" I rolled my eyes.
"I'm like so ready since day one and you were always the one who acts like you need a freaking vacation to get over what happened last batailen," I taunted. His jaw clenched. He did not like what I said. I know that what happened to me still hunts him to this day but we need to move on.
"I don't like what's coming out of your mouth," he warns.
"Let's just go inside," I yielded. He heaves a sigh and hold my hand. I forced a sweet smile and give the huge door in front of us three knocks.
"Come in," I heard the god inside said.
Damon opened the door hesitantly. God Hlaford welcomed us warmly by offering us a seat. I glanced at his side and I failed to see his pet. He had no idea about his eagle's true identity. I don't care if my involvement in his business resulted in a bad dream, I need to speak up.
"Is there something you wish to tell me?" he asked. I glanced at Damon before opening my mouth to speak.
"We are ready," I said. He looked in my eyes and smiled. "Our one week rest is enough. We are more than willing to help. We can try and talk to Fiscio. We will do our best to help find God Gaviel's bludgeon." His smile became wider.
"It's so nice to hear, Golden." The guy beside me squeezed my hand. He's so nervous and he can't hide it. "But you don't have to do this." My face falls. What?
"But... We're meant to do this. Why are you suddenly halting our help? We can help God Hlaford," I persuaded. This is wrong. I know that this is not just any quest but our lives are in line here.
"This is dangerous. I don't want to risk your lives my child. After what happened to you in Dragonia, it's an enough reason for me to stop you both in hurting yourselves. Our enemy is not just anybody. He is strong," he says but I didn't listen.
"I had a dream about this. I talked to you," I started. His brows arched. "I was having a conversation with you about your pet." A line formed in between his brows. I know that this might shock him but you know what? I don't care.
"Your eagle's a fake. She is Freeda," I revealed. His pupils dilated.
"Freeda? The shapeshifting Chosen you had a battle with in our batailen?" he asked. I nodded like a dog. Indeed my god. "Travis' parsen?" he asked again.
"Yes god Hlaford," I answered. "She's been eavesdropping in your meetings and gatherings. Have you ever wondered why your eagle's always gone? She turned herself as your eagle in our batailen. We heard her talk in the bathroom about your missing bludgeon. She's the one who took it and if you don't want to believe just our words then have your bludgeon see Freeda's future for us."
"No, god Hlaford. We are not sure about it. Those were just puzzle pieces that we managed to build up," Damon says and squeeze my hand. I frowned. Puzzle pieces? What? He's chickening out again.
"Shut up Damon. Seriously." I was not able to stop my annoyance. I'm just so annoyed right now. I hate this part of him where he always twist what have talked to before coming in this kind of situations. I feel a little betrayed.
"I wasn't expecting you to know that," God Hlaford states. My eyes grew big. He knew?! His face softens. "I was trying to spy on her. I can see the future Golden. Of course, I was noticed by my bludgeon that it will be taken away by a traitor."
What? Okay? This is mind blowing. I thought he didn't know but it was his plan all along. He might have seen God Gaviel's bludgeon being taken away too like his bludgeon and he wanted to know who's the main culprit behind it. We all know that Freeda is doing all the monkey work but she is not the main culprit.
"But where is your eagle?" I asked worriedly. He smiled and open his mouth to speak.
"I blessed it a shield that could protect it from harm and spell. Freeda must have thought that my eagle is dead already but of course not. I will not let that happen," he says. My heart started to party inside. But we still need to talk about Fiscio.
"So about Fiscio, the juggen fish. We wanted to try and persuade to talk. We're ready to give him what he wants. Diante says thatwe could help and I know that we can. Let us help. Please," I begged, almost. I really want to help and Diante said that they have called each Gods in Spheria but nobody made it.
Fiscio might say something to us. I want to know.
"But..." He looked at Damon. I rolled my eyes mentally and squeezed his hand so hard that he will think otherwise of disagreeing once again.
"Aw!" he groans. I looked at him innocently. "Fine," he yielded. I smiled sweetly and looked at God Hlaford again. Damon does not like this idea but who cares. It's not like I'm doing this to have fun. We're destined to do this.
"What should we do to help?" I asked. God Hlaford raised his bludgeon and a ray of light comes out of its stone. A scene starts to form in front of us. Its Fiscio! I've never seen him before and I'm surprised that this is what he looks like.
He's sleeping like a human.
He looks like a human but a fish. You know what I'm saying? He acts like a human by sleeping soundly and not caring about the fact that there are tons of Gods surrounding him and asking for his attention. He looks anti-social.
"He is Fiscio. Gods and Goddesses ask advices and answers from him when they need help. I believed you already know that?" he asked and I nodded. Diante said that to me already. I looked at Damon when he squeezed my hand.
I arched my brows to ask him what's wrong. He looks at me smiled.
"I love you," he mouthed.
