Chapter 53

Golden's POV

What did I just saw? Her eyes. I'm sure that they were pitch black. Aside from the fact that it is already scary to look at, why can't Damon see it? He failed to see her weird eyes not just once but twice before she disappeared into thin air.

"Are you sure you didn't see it?" I asked for who knows how many times already. Damon lifted his head and smiled.

"No, baby. Maybe you were just hungry and hallucinating?" he answered hesitantly. I blew a sigh and diverted my attention to the sword I'm sharpening.

"But her eyes were black," I huffed. He chuckled and take the sandpaper from me. His biceps and triceps are flexing as he moves sexily with his body.

Diante will not be able to attend our class today. We decided to clean and sharpen our gears to kill time. Before that though, Damon was testing his pure dragon skills and practicing his positions. As a Chosen and Dragon, we're always told to work as a duo.

It's kind of hard at first but I learned to understand how gravity and balance work. I just need to trust him every time he puts me on his back. I'm still not getting used of the heights.

"So you're trying to say that Cecilia is suspicious?" he asked. I stare at his handsome face and nodded.

"I know what I saw. I'm not hallucinating," I persuaded. He give me an amused look. He obviously doesn't believe me. I clicked my tongue and snatch my sword from him. He raised his hands jokingly. "I hate it when you don't listen. Do you even take my words seriously? You always act like you're talking to a kid."

I pulled myself up and was about to leave him behind when he talked.

"Baby, I just don't want us to make mistakes. I know that Cecilia has been a really bad bitch to you lately but we can't just suspect her."

I turned around just to give him a bored look.

"We can suspect anyone, Damon. They can suspect us too. And besides I was just worried of her. Her eyes were black. Why do you always see me as the villain who does nothing good to her. You're making be feel like I'm the bad guy," I vented. His jaw clenched. Damon closed his eyes shut like as if he's controlling his temper.

I rolled my eyes and leave him on the fields.

Yes. We just fight... again.

Him letting me leave and not chasing after me made me more irritated. He'd actually just let me walk away like that? He really lives for his words, huh?

Whatever.

"Golden!" a familiar voice called. It was too late for me to realize that I'm inside the castle already. I put my sword on the side and glance at Travis. He's approaching me with a huge smile on his face.

"Hey," I greeted. He raised his hand to wave at me. "I came here to invite you," he speaks and smiled. My forehead creased for a second. Invite me?

"Where?" I asked.

My smile faded when his eyes turned black for a second and went back to normal again. I stepped back and hold my sword. What the hell?

He noticed my sudden change of mood. Travis glanced at my sword and back to my face again.

"What's wrong?" he asked. I look at him scared. He looks and acts just like Travis. Is it possible for him to be a different person? But why is he suddenly inviting me? Is this impostor trying to lure me somewhere and kill me?

"Baby." I turned to look at my parsen. His face is dark but I didn't care about that. I am worried about the fact that the Travis in front of us is an impostor.

"Let's go," I stuttered. He was about to say something but I immediately grab his arm to stop him. He has a glare on his face as we disappeared in front of my boy best friend.

What the hell was that?

It happened again. Both Cecilia and him have those pitch black eyes. I know what I saw. This isn't the first time. This is for real now!

"Why were you with him?" he asked with a hint of jealousy in his voice. I rolled my eyes mentally. He has the audacity to be jealous right now despite the fact that we fought prior to that incident.

"Did you see his eyes?" I asked.

"Eyes?" His face crumpled.

"Yes! His eyes. They were black too," I told him. His face falls. I let go of his hand and walked ahead. He wouldn't believe me. Why am I even wasting my time to express my thoughts to him. He doesn't believe me anyway,

"Golden!" he called but I didn't answer and just keep on walking.

"Golden!" he called frustratingly. I didn't waste my time to look at him again. I am mad. Very mad.

"Golden! Look at me for fuck's sake. Why are you acting like this," he yielded. I throw him a glance just to show him my annoyed expression. I don't want to see him right now. I am so irritated I could punch him on the face.

Parsens are told to listen to each other and yet here he is acting like he's talking to a kid with bunch of imaginations. I wanted to vent but what for? He's a dick. Argh!

"Don't follow me," I growled. He stopped and look at me with begging eyes. "I mean it Damon. I really mean it." I looked at him blankly and left. Him letting me leave again. Argh! He's so freaking insensitive and I hate it so freaking bad!

I marched to the quiet halls. I walked passed hundreds of Chosens whom are looking at me with their curious faces. Fear starts to creep on me when their eyes turned black.

What the...

A girl walked passed me with his eyes all black and scary. It wasn't Cecilia. It wasn't Travis. It wasn't them. It was me. It was me all this time. What in a bloody hell is happening to me.

They look like walking zombies with dead eyes to me. I couldn't help myself but freak out. I've never seen something like this before. This is pure horror.

I regret walking away from Damon now. I need him so bad. I want to hide myself behind him. This is not the freedom I am expecting. Why am I experiencing this? What is going on? Am I cursed? But who would?

"Baby!"

My trembling lips curved into a smile when I heard my man's voice. I am glad he's here. I turned to look at him but my eyes grew big when I saw his face.

His eyes are pitch black too.
