Chapter 52

Golden's POV

"What were you thinking?" I confronted as soon as he closed the door shut. He looked at me innocently and shrugged his shoulders.

"What? I didn't say anything wrong. You were on bed for days and I was the one taking care of you," he explains himself. I rolled my eyes. "You can't expect me to just let you do the things you like. You're very impulsive. You do things without thinking about the consequences."

I clenched my jaw and frowned at him. He's calling me impulsive now, huh?

"What if something bad happens to you again? What are you going to do about it? You don't even care about what I feel. I was so scared of loosing you and here you are again being the hard headed girl you are despite the fact that you promised me that you won't be like one again." His voice sounds so calm but the look on his face spells annoyance. He leaned on the wall and looked away.

Damon's trying so hard to cool himself but his angriness is showing on the steam coming out of his body.

I give him a persuading smile.

"I'm not just playing and you know that very well. This is our faith. We're destined to help Vortaxia," I defended myself aggressively. He released a frustrated sigh and walked to the bathroom. He's completely ignoring my debate.

I followed him like a dog. He knows I'm winning this argument that's why he's walking away.

"I can't. You're not well yet. You just got better," he whispers. I hear a hint of sadness and worriedness in his voice but I ignored it. Being prophecy vortans comes with the danger of dying and that's completely normal.

I am not afraid of dying. I am more afraid of letting people like Selda take over this world.

"Fine. How long do you want me to rest? Let's do it," I told him. He glares a me. He didn't like my idea. Argh!

"So what? We're just going to wait here and let them get what they need from God Gaviel's bludgeon? And then what? Vortans will suffer. There will be no more Spheria and Dragonia. This place will be a complete dystopian. Is that what you want?" I confronted frantically.

His face softens. I know that he understands me. It's just that he's scared that we'll loose the fight. We haven't even started yet. How can he chicken like this?

I sighed and walked beside him. I caged his warm hand in mine and smiles.

"We have to try at least. I'm talking about lives here. Vortans will die and suffer if we let those kind of witches and creatures invade Vortaxia. They do not want the place of your kingdom. What they want is the complete possession and control of the living things in here." Fear crosses my eyes but it disappear quickly.

The thought of them taking full control and power in our world scares me.

"Six days," he said in a deep voice. I arched my brows confusedly. He squeezed my hands. "Six days and we'll be heroes."

My eyes widened. I hugged him tightly.

We'll win this battle.

That day passed swiftly like wind. We had Diante to teach us more of his combat techniques and positions. He was so happy to know that Damon is the last pure dragon. He said that he knew that something was incredible about him but he wasn't expecting Damon to be a rare kind.

Me, on the other hand, still have no idea on what in a bloody hell is my gift. Damon has found his because my death triggered his gift but what about me? What will trigger mine? I'm not looking forward of seeing Damon die in front of me.

"Always make sure that your chest is hard. This will filter the spell," Diante instructs. I did what he said and suck my breath in to harden my chest. It worked. I could feel the spell bouncing off me.

"Do you think I have a gift?" I asked out of the blue. He released my arm and looked at me. I smiled awkwardly.

"Never mind," I whispered and diverted my attention to my chest trying to dismiss the thoughts in my head. I flinched when he sighs. "Seriously just forget it. I was just thinking out loud. Those are nonsense." I smiled.

"As the god of classife, I am truly sorry for not being able to give you the answer. You see I've never encountered something like this before and it pains me that I had to give you the same answer I've been giving you," he said in a small voice. I nodded sportily and shook my head.

"It's alright. I was just curious."

"I don't know Golden. You seemed very special," he whispers. I chuckled softly. Special? He meant weird or unfortunate. How can a prophecy girl like me have no gift? How will I save Vortaxia like what God Gaviel predicted us to do?

I want to help Damon. I know that he's capable enough to save us both from peril but what if something big came and he needed my help? I don't ant to slow him down like an old squirrel.

"Are you guys talking about something serious?"

I looked to my side to see Damon in his normal form. His hair is a mess. It kind of looks hot.

"Nope. Just random stuffs. How's your legs?" I asked, trying to change the topic. He stared at his leg. He hurt his legs during the batailen in Dragonia. I know that he's not well.

"Better but it will be much better if you'll tell me what you guys are talking about without the changing the topic silly," he slurs and plants a kiss on my forehead. I smiled like an idiot and ignore his statement.

I focused on my breathing position and try to control the hardness of my chest.

That class of hours lasted till afternoon and we are ought to go back in the palace to have our dinner. I was tired as an avocado and my tongue would be sticking out because of the summer feels in Spheria. I smiled when I saw Travis but it didn't last long because Cecilia is beside him.

She frowns when she saw me. I was just going to ignore her like any other times and just give my boy best friend a wave but I noticed something different about her.

His eyes were black. Like all black.

What the hell?

"Are you seeing that?" I whispered to Damon. He follows my gaze and I saw his eyebrows arch from confusion.

"Seeing what?" he asked. My brows furrowed.

"Her eyes are pitch black. She looks so freaking dead. You're not seeing that? You're lying baby." He looked at me and shook his head.

"Baby I don't know what you're talking about."

Huh? But her eyes are creepy. He doesn't see that? I am the only one seeing that? That's weird. I looked at her again but she's already gone. I flinched when Bubbles disappeared in front of me with a huge bottle in her hands blocking my view of them.

"Ivaaawww!"
